My husband(!!) and I got my engagement ring here and while I wasn't present to shop for it, he said the woman working with him was extremely patient and helpful, showing him 25+ designs before he settled on the one that he ended up buying. I absolutely adored my ring and thought it looked beautiful. ...but it was way too big (not at all Tapper's fault, I thought I was a different size than I am). We took it back today to get resized and the woman was great with measuring my finger to get an accurate ring size. While there, she asked if we wanted the lifetime protection which we opted for. It includes damage, shipping, resizing, etc and because we bought it, our resizing was included. The store is beautiful, clean, and there are lots of goodies everywhere to enjoy while you shop. I also had to use the restroom while there and it smelled bizarrely good and was impeccably clean. Very conveniently located as well, right near eight mile in Novi. They advertise the best prices for old gold and and diamonds. They lie. They bring you in there because they think once you're there you'll sell whatever you have for their cheap insulting prices. That advertisement 20% higher than anyone else is beyond ridiculous as they low bulbed the heck out of me. I've taken this to multiple places to get an idea, and they offered less than half of an independent jewelry store. read more

Went there two weeks ago to purchase some watches. Upon walking in, I was immediately greeted by the friendly associates. They directed me to Brent, who took really good care of us. While Brent was helping us with watch selections, him and others would ask if we'd like refreshments or any other items or services they could help us with. They claim on all of their radio commercials to pay the highest. This is not the case, I took some gold in and they are only paying 90% of spot price. U.S Coin Gallery and Redford Jewelry we're paying 95% of spot. (Which added up to several hundred dollars difference) So if you're looking to sell your gold, I would definitely not choose Tappers! That being said, I would call several places to see what they're paying because it seems that this is always changing. Do your homework and make yourself a few hundred dollars more. Never listen to radio ststion Commercials because they can be a flat out lie. read more

Went in to check out the new store and look for a small pendant to add to my necklace. I was greeted by a very helpful employee who tried so hard to find the right addition. The existing ones are small and simple and nothing was quite right. Either similar or too large. Employee tried so hard, searching multiple places, but nothing matched. I felt badly that the employee was so disappointed. Customer Service cannot always find a perfect solution, but his effort was appreciated greatly. I would return because of his attempts. read more

Very disappointing experience. Needed a small extender chain put on a string of pearls to make the necklace slightly longer (a gift, the necklace was new, had never been worn, and had no wear or weakness in the chain or clasp). Because I live nearby, I took the necklace to Tapper's Novi. The intake employee was very nice, helped me to determine the correct length for the extender chain, and wrote up the ticket with the correct instructions for the repair department so that they could call with an estimate (we were given a copy). We got a phone call from Tapper's two days later stating that they would have to restring and add pearls to the necklace for $260. When I said that was not at all what I had requested, the repair rep asked the name of the person who wrote up our order, stating that "she hadn't left any instructions". When I explained what I wanted done, she said she would call me back with an updated estimate. I called Tapper's two days after that, and was told by another repair rep that the charge would be $260, because they had to restring the pearls regardless. The pearls were already at their West Bloomfield location - instead of waiting another 24 hours for them to be returned to Novi, I drove to West Bloomfield and picked them up there. I then took the necklace to a trusted jewelry dealer in Rochester, and within 3 days had a sterling silver extender installed at the clasp for $53, exactly what I needed. I came in to start looking at rings for my engagement this year and the staff was negligent. They started by asking if I wanted a coke or something from their sweets cart, but then NEVER came over to help me look for rings. I was with my sister and her friend, and we do look younger, but to be told we would be helped by a staff member in a few minutes for them to all be on their phones was disgraceful. read more

They just opened! They used to be located inside of twelve oaks mall, near the Lord & Taylor wing. I've been a long time customer of Tapper's - they have locations in West Bloomfield and Troy. This new location is beautiful! It's located at the corner of 8 mile and Haggerty. It is kind of challenging turning into the parking lot if you're coming from Haggerty as you're stuck behind everyone waiting to turn onto 8 mile to go on the highway. There's plenty of parking and when I pulled on the door handle, it was locked. Security opened the door for me. And if you're wearing a mask, you're asked to remove it and look at the camera. Once inside, there is a Rolex section tucked away and the rest of the main area you can find a variety of diamonds, gold, and watches. There is also an upstairs to the diamond loft (bridal area). I was also offered water or coffee. I wanted to take photos but felt uncomfortable doing so as there are security cameras everywhere. They have great quality jewelry and a lot of options. I ordered a 2 Rolexes and they both came in at different times and very unexpectedly. So unexpected that when I had time to pick them both up, I had my 5 and 7 year olds with me. Sophia my salesperson was so sweet, gracious, and kind, she serviced my kids and made sure they were comfortable before she took care of me. My kids were insistent on seeing the diamond loft, and much to my hesitance, I took them up. The gentleman was so kind, he told my kids they could see anything they wanted upon their request. I didn't waste his time, but it was such an amazing gesture. I was so anxious and nervous to take them with me.
