I saw the sign and couldn't resist the urge to walk inside. There is a life size Dr. Who Tardis in the rear of the store, right by the cash registers. Are you kidding me? And you can walk inside of it, too? I'm there! You can't hog it, though, because there was a warning on it to not waste time standing in the Tardis because let's be honest, everyone deserves a moment alone in the Tardis. Don't be selfish, kids. You can't take merchandise in the Tardis, either, nor can you jump around much. Sorry, it didn't seem to have been made for that kind of activity. If it was Dr. Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, D & D, super hero, or any other Sci-Fi related merchandise, this store had it in spades. Whether it was limited edition or popular, toys for kids or adults that just act like a kid were here. It was collectible city in here. It was a small store that had more merchandise in it than most of the souvenir shops I came across. I was a kid in a candy store. More than anything, it was a place to find the latest and most sought after in Dr. Who and Star Wars collectibles I browsed through everything for awhile, finally bought a few things, but it took some time before the guy around to waiting on me, but me did acknowledge me and asked for my patience. He was helping other customers who wanted things that were up high on the shelves and not accessible without some assistance or a ladder. It was crowded and I see why. If you are a kid or just a kid at heart, it's a neat place to look around. Tourist area prices, but the store was really different, so it was mostly worth it. I think I'd like a second look at what they had. I wanted to buy more, but my wife was impatient, so I only grabbed two small gifts and left. It was a fun little store. It was nice to see something like this after looking at the same $18 t-shirt and $23 sweatshirt all day. I nearly forgot where I was for a hot minute. There is a $5 minimum for all credit card purchases, which seems silly and unnecessary because everything is over $5.

Every time I come back I remember how wide eyed and full of excitement all of use were to get a bag full of candy - oh the excitement, it was palpable! If only $1 would go so far today! They still have the huge penny candy counter and the same brown bags they have been using for ever. It truly means its summer once those bags are filled and wrappers are ferociously being removed on the sidewalk.

I found one stamp I had seen in San Diego and liked but it was out of stock so I just bought it here. And I got a little bottle of gold embossing powder. But the real find was about $20 worth of mostly used but some never used stamps at $1-3 each that she was selling to help someone else out. Can't resist a bargain. With the dearth of rubber stamp stores in Michigan, this was a real find. 102711 10/28/16--Here I am almost exactly 5 years later and again I pulled into this parking lot to look up the location of a local knit store LOL. I guess I'm destined to find this store and the one next to it that sells cross-stitch items. Unfortunately the cross stitch store was already closed since it was nearly 6 but I caught the lady in the scrapbooking store before she left for the day and we had a nice visit. Interesting new store that just opened up this year at Mackinaw Crossings. They have every kind of…read moreLego toy and mini-figure you can think of all under one roof. It's more of an all-ages environment, not just for children. Honestly, I might not let a small child run around here unattended, there's just too many breakable pieces in the store, including a large ferris wheel constructed out of Lego pieces that sits on display. It's a look, don't touch display, but really interesting when you look at it long enough. The prices are higher, as is expected in Mackinaw City. It's standard tourism prices. However, this shop has a lot of rare, harder to find Lego mini-figures, so that was cool for anyone who collects them, like myself. There is a Ghostbusters Lego car in a box autographed by Ernie Hudson. I thought about buying it, but it didn't come cheap, nor did I expect it would be. They had so many different Legos, including the more obscure designs and plenty popularized by pop culture, like Mine Craft, Star Wars and many super heroes. This is more than a toy store and official Lego retailer. There is a hands-on Lego museum in the back for both kids and adults. Admission is $5 each. It features thousands of Lego pieces to work with and build your sculpture, plus a huge Lego display composed of thousands more Legos that you can try guessing how many and which kind were used. Very interesting for all ages. I think it's a departure from the tourist-oriented shops that I've seen here in the past. It could easily be found in a mall downstate. Different change of pace for Mackinaw Crossings. I was glad to see one less gift shop selling moccasins and hoodies, but I like Legos, so maybe that's just me and my quirk, but I love me some Legos and I'm an adult.
