We randomly decided to stop here when we saw a sign for a Broom Shop. The show room is small but there were plenty of brooms to choose from of all different sizes. Everything is handmade and looks amazing. If you are going to use the broom they cut the straw for you onsite to make it even. My broom was $40 and worth every penny. Kears Broom Shop was a hidden gem off the beaten track in Gatlinburg. I am so glad we made the turn when we saw a wooden sign that said "Broom Shop". It's a smallish workshop and a showroom and the most lovely 3rd generation shopkeeper. Plenty of parking out in front. Brooms are hand crafted with local materials. This is a 3rd generation shop with almost 100 years experience. They'll tell you how they are made, show the materials and even cut them to size for you. Cash no cards. Prices $20 - $60. Cute small shop. Gentlemen working there are SUPER friendly. EVERYTHING is hand made right in front of you. Each broom is unique. They told me everything about the broom I was buying from the tree used to the background story of the style I bought. CASH OR CHECK ONLY but there is a bank that is 5mins down the street with super easy in and out access. Wonderful place with handmade brooms by a really talented artisan. Fred gave my sons a tour of his workshop and a history lesson. He even chopped our brooms straw right in from of us. He hand picks the handles out in the forrest. Each are very unique and special. The mountain man wood carving in the handle is a beautiful piece of artwork in itself. read more
