I've only been going here for a short amount of time, but this place is great. Donne, the owner and trainer, owns the gym and really cares about his clients. He is all about the "results" as he says and you can tell he isn't lying. Many of his clients are very happy with him and you can tell they have made tremendous progress. I love to work out without too many people around, I feel comfortable, plus there's no wait for any machine. The only hiccup I foresee is the fact that I didn't see more than 1 pair of 5 and 10 dumbells. So if more than 1 person is using one of those weights time could be wasted. Plus there were no 8 or 12 lb weights. There were only 5, 10, 15lbs. Sometimes 10 is too light and 15 is too heavy. A 12lb dumbell would do nicely. The main reason I'm joining is because it's open 24hrs and close to my house. I'm a busy mom of two, who works in the city, has to leave at 6am to get to work and return at 6/6:30pm. Joining a regular gym with regular hours wouldn't work for me. It's slightly pricier than other gyms but for me this works. And I can't wait to try out the classes!

However this gym is not great for any one who actually lifts. The equipment is bad and due to my height some of it didn't even work for me, which is expected for a few machines, but not to the extent of this gym. There is no place to do exercises with a barbell besides bench and squat. There is only ONE squat rack in this gym that is adjustable, the other two, you cannot adjust the safeties which wouldn't work for the exercises I wanted to do. No deadlift platforms or bumper plates. Dumbbells are a mess even on the weekends when it's not crowded. For the cable machines they are little attachments available to choose. For these reasons, I chose to cancel my membership as I realized it be unsustainable for me to complete my workouts here. Trying to cancel this membership within the guidelines of my contract was a nightmare. I was well within my rights to cancel my membership within 3 days of registering. However when I tried to cancel my membership in person they said I can't do that unless I come back when the operations manager is there from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. For me and most people this does not work as we work those same hours. Additionally, in the contract it says nothing about contacting an operations manager. It explicitly states you can go to the gym you signed up for and cancel your membership. I had to ask for the operations manager phone number, which was just the phone number for the gym. I called the next morning during business hours and was told the operations manager was in the middle of something and when I said I was going to refer to the contract that says I can also cancel by calling, the person at the desk hung up on me. I called back and let them know that I would like the operations manager to call me when she was available and was told that they would tell her but she usually doesn't call customers. Luckily, I called back an hour later and a different person answered and I was able to speak to the operations manager and she canceled my membership in less than two minutes. I would not have been as upset if the people at the front desk did not LIE to me and would actually abide by the contract signed! A business cannot expect their customers to abide by a contract when they will not. Other reviews echo the same experience. I can not recommend this business to anyone and would suggest to go anywhere else for this reason.

The gym floor was immaculate and clean and fresh smelling. The bathroom was the same immaculate fresh smelling and clean the equipment however was extremely old and outdated and broken. Every piece of equipment that we tried to use was visibly rotted and rusted broken handles on tricep push down pads, broken on seat seats, and the equipment was not spaced apart enough so that a person could extend their arms to give themselves adequate space to work out. It seems as though this Planet Fitness hasn't had their equipment exchanged in quite so many years, very outdated and very broken and it's a shame because it's really a nice gym. The members were very pleasant and kind and friendly. But the equipment can really use an exchange.

I started off virtual in the middle of the Covid 19, and that is what convinced me. They are legit virtual workouts, not someone just saying "go, lift higher, yes, great, you can do it". I LEGIT came out of those workouts sore. On top of that, I started going to outdoor workouts. And like I said, when my body is sore then I know the workouts are effective. The coaches and the members are so welcoming and they teach you technique, they are not just trying to conduct class, and "peace'ing out". Also, you get VARIETY. I've paid monthly dues to a few gyms over the years and went only a handful of times. Why? Because…read morethey felt impersonal and superficial. Nothing was keeping me coming back. Don't even get me started about to cancel one of these memberships. I went into Resurgence curious about lifting heavy, with good form and was genuinely greeted with kindness and curiosity. They wanted to know what my goals were and how I wanted to get there. I'm an active woman in my 40's with a previous injury so joining a powerlifting gym could feel intimidating. But this was not the case. I felt very welcomed and got started with one of their trainers, Carl ( the best!!!!) The fees are very reasonable, which has made it possible for me to really commit and frankly change my life. I deal with a lot of caretaking on a daily basis and getting stronger in this space has made that possible without feeling that I am harming my body. Everyone here knows your name and is available to help but you have space to explore and learn on your own. This is truly a place for everyone.
