Late Sunday afternoon, my husband, and I decided to visit Kebab & Curry. The waiter was friendly and upbeat. We ordered samosas and drinks. My husband's drink was huge and my Chai tea was . exceptional--the tea stood out from the spices--making me realize I need to upscale my brand of chai. The samosas were homemade and delicious, The chef stopped by and based on his recommendation, I ordered the Stir Fry Eggplant. It was wonderful. (I just ate leftover eggplant for lunch, and it was even better the second day.) Beautiful blend of spices; I imagine I'll be craving a repeat soon. We shared 2 additional entrees: tandoori chicken and chicken Shahi Korma. My husband liked these meat dishes. but in my opinion, Indian cuisine shines brightest in the vegetarian options. The restaurant was largely empty except for one group eating. Most orders were to go. During my wait there were several door dash drivers that stopped by and picked up food. The restaurant was slightly dim. I liked that. I don't like very bright establishments. The buffet was off near a wall. There was light music playing. The atmosphere was relaxed and nice. The restaurant was extremely clean. I ordered the Chicken Biryani (forgive me if I've spelled it wrong. I can never remember the spelling) and samosas. The chicken biryani was $17.99 and the samosas were $6.99. There was a considerable wait. I was there for a while. Its probably better to call in or place your order online first. The Chicken Biryani was different than what I'm use to. There was quite a bit of thin brown liquid at the bottom of the rice and I did not like that at all. The plate tipped and the liquid all poured out into the bag. The biryani was good. I had it with medium spice. However I did feel the sauce could have been thicker. I'm use to having it with either a thick sauce almost like a stew that comes with it as well as bigger pieces of meat. However this Biryani was different in that the meat was almost like a minced meat. There were tiny pieces of finely chopped chicken. Not those larger pieces I'm accustomed to that's served at Spice Avenue off of I55 in Jackson. So the juice at the bottom of the bowl and the tiny minced pieces of chicken I wish were different. I also wish the dish would have had a lot more of a robust flavor. When you mix in all that liquid it kills some of the spices. I've had biryani dishes that were bursting with flavor. This dish was good. But something was lacking. I'm sure it was the meat and the lack of a robust stewed like sauce with the meat. The meat in their biryani tasted like it was boiled in a flavorful water. Not stewed in a thick hearty robust sauce. The samosas were ok. I'm use to them having more flavor as well. I mean they were good in a way but the taste was a little off (I'm not sure where the tartness or the very slight vinegar taste comes from) and they also used a seasoning I'm not familiar with. So I ate one and had no interest in eating the other two. Also, the samosas could have used a bit more spice. Last, the young girl serving at the front did fine. She was attentive. I tipped her $3.00 cash. But she had a very peculiar way about her. As I was swiping my card I looked up suddenly and I caught her eyes. She was staring intensely at me and the look wasn't pleasant. It was a dirty look. Almost as if she was put off by me taking so long to swipe my card. You know the look when someone mean mugs you. When our eyes met she suddenly smiled awkwardly and the smile did not appear genuine at all. However I overlooked her and took a seat to wait on my meal. When one of the door dash workers came in I also caught that nasty glimpse from her staring at the door dash driver. I was watching her intensely at this point and I was watching her eyes. The eyes are the gateway to the soul. Or, as I would like to think, the heart. If you're a hostile, mean, nasty person.. it's hard to hide this in the eyes. I don't know this young lady. Again she was attentive. But the look she gave me (before quickly and awkwardly smiling at me when I caught it) and the door dasher tells me in my gut she's probably not a very kind person. Or she's condescending at the least. Overall I give the food and service a three. read more

Food was very good nice & flavorful Ambiance was nice not too many other patrons two other couples finishing up when we arrived and they seemed to be enjoying their food. Pros a nice menu selection, and an owner who is eager to share his passion about his food & his place. He has extensive experience throughout California & loves being a Mississippian that part is very cool, also nice is a complimentary mango pudding sample for each patron. Cons prices are a parking lot in need of repaving, slow service and a pretty high price point person & it's an 18% automatic gratuity on a party of 4+ we came for lunch, each ordered an entree, drink & shared the samosa starter... our total $150!!! That's just insane I'm sorry - good food yes but that's a very high price point per person for what's being served. I do recommend the food but I don't recommend the prices. read more

Lesson learned. If you're eating Indian food then go to a buffet. The butter chicken was very tart and a TINY portion (see photo) for $20.54. It was maybe 2 cups but that's being generous. Of the butter chicken I've eaten over the past 30 years, this was my least favorite. The taste was just off. The delivery menu said nothing about whether or not rice and/or naan was included with the entrée. So, guess what. We ordered three sides of naan (one naan is $3.85). And the entrees came with rice and naan. Great. So now we're sitting hear with a double crap ton of naan. read more

Such a cozy and calm atmosphere. My daughter and I had the buffet - 2 kinds of rice, plenty of vegetarian & traditional dishes, sauces for all your dipping needs, and a few sweets to finish the meal. I tried some new foods today that were so delicious. The spice was very tolerable. The chef came out and spoke to customers and very pleasant. The service was amazing! We were greeted when we entered the calm, romantic restaurant. The server and chef were very pleasant and professional. We got vegetarian samosas, butter chicken, navrattan korma, lemonade, and chai tea. Everything was exceptional. The Naan and sauces were really good. Let me say food is delicious! Abundant servings and entrees come paired with bowl of basmati rice and naan's of your choice. I ordered the house curry and was packed with so much flavor, each bite was delectable. And garlic naan was omg the best to scoop the curry with. Decor: clean, cozy and cute, loved the lights hanging down from the interior windows as it gave it a more intimate and romantic feel. Service: my only complain or area for improvement I suggest would be more friendly and attentive staff. Today is the second time my wife and I have tried the restaurant. We went during lunch I have the lunch special with butter chicken and tandoori chicken it was served with rice and naan bread. While my wife had the house goat curry with rice. Both meals were well cooked. My only slight negative is I like my butter chicken sauce a bit more silky but over all we were both happy. The staff was very friendly and the chef came by and spoke to us which was nice. The local is a bit out of the way and the parking lot is in poor condition but the red was clean, nicely appointed, with a good ambiance. We are visiting town and decided to get Indian food. It was a no-brainer to try Kebab and Curry with all of the excellent reviews, and they were spot on! The service was phenomenal. The server (hi, Tyler!) was knowledgeable and helped us choose dishes, and the chef/owner came out personally to make sure everything was good. They also gave us some complimentary desserts. Everything we tried was excellent. We got butter chicken, the tandoori sampler, samosas, and daal tadka. We also tried the mango lassi and masala lemonade. Do NOT miss out on the garlic masala naan. The chef and owner came out from the kitchen to check on the guests, he informed us that he will soon offer Sunday buffets as well! WIN! This restaurant is also one of the few restaurants that is Halal. If you haven't had Indian food before, this is your chance to try a little bit of everything. Once you find what you like, you can also order it off menu with your choice of protein. My favorite is paneer, Indian cottage cheese. Has a nice chew to it, the chef makes this cheese in house! He also makes the naan fresh to order in a clay pot oven. My personal favorite is garlic, but locals favorite is the pepper naan. I can't say enough about this place. Didn't ever think I'd be this much into Indian/Pakistani-inspired cuisine, but Chef Jeetender Anand has it going on. The buffet is an awesome value for what he usually puts out, which includes tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chili chicken, plus some very interesting chickpea and lentil creations. And that basmati rice is always on-time :-) As for the menu items, the curry creations are done just the way you want it. If you just want the mild version, they can do that.
