We moved a long at a good pace. Be aware that there are steps to climb up and down. I get around by cane and I didn't expect all the climbing.

Has 18 hole tees but not that kind of course. Play it in the mourning then again in evening, there's ur 18. Not too expensive one-off but it is really a semi private course. Again great fun and a place to try new shots while WALKING. Sneak a beer, or something, in your bag for the second tee.

Club house has changing room and bathrooms but no food. There is a soda/water vending machine. Pay by the honor system if no one is around. Wednesday nights around 5 (4 when the light gets shorter) is an open scramble. One fee ($25, I think) for all day. One steep hill on a par 4. Holes 4 and 5, both par 5s, crisscross to add to the excitement. Course is usually lightly played, good place to take a beginner. No carts so you'll have to carry or bring a pull cart (I think they have pull carts available).

The course has several weeknight events and tournaments on the weekend, appealing to all levels of golfers. For example, my wife loves the "Wine and 9" ladies night, which features group instruction and drinks/snacks at the end. There are a variety of membership options that can save you some money, but overall, it's quite affordable to play, and I tend to opt for the 10-play passes (available for greens fees and cart), which provide a small discount. The ballpark cost of playing 18 with a cart is $40-45. After your round, the siren song of the attached Hero's restaurant/19th hole (with an incredible deck overlooking beautiful scenery) will demand your presence and assist you with either drowning out that crucial missed par putt or celebrating a record round. It features a solid draft beer lineup (typically BL, a rotating Sam Adams varietal, and Frye's Leap IPA) with several alternative bottle options and a pared down menu from the main Hero's downtown location. Walking rate is relatively inexpensive but the course has somw good hills to walk around. This yeae qe have golfed there twice. Very friendly service no matter who is in there. The only real complaint was the lay out of the seating. Some of the guests were off in a room that hooked onto the main room and away from all of the main festivities. It seemed as if they weren't even part fo the wedding during the introductions and the food. But of course like most weddings, when the music starts and things open up, everyone is together anyways. But the staff seemed to have done a great job. I had no complaints from my end. We had the prime rib and I agree with my mother when I say it's the best prime rib I've had in the greater Bangor area. The only place that has competed is Millers Salad Bar and Pilots Grill and both of those places are out of business. If you get a chance to go there, get the prime rib.
