I was recommended to Keeper's by a friend. I was floored at how kind they were. My super nervous pup was opening up to them within the first 10 minutes of her visit. Dr. Seuss was patient, knowledgeable, and eager to answer my questions. She never once made me feel awkward or silly. Hannah was happy, and so was I to find a vet who loves my pup as much as I do. It's a bit hard to find, and there's not a lot of grass for potty breaks. Still it's worth it. The clinic is well cared for, clean, and organized. I have been going here since early 2020 and in the beginning they were amazing. The last several months of 2022 their customer service has dropped horribly. Dr. Seuss used to be very helpful and I loved taking over 16 of my animals to her from chickens, ducks, cats, dogs. Now after several months after being double charged and hearing from others in the community of being double charged, after a handful of screwed up appointments because of staff error. Some staff not being knowledgeable and unhelpful. Finally the last thing was driving 40 minutes to my appointment just to be told the doctor was sick and I couldn't be seen. I totally understand life happens and that wasn't the issue. The issue was once again why was my time wasted and why wasn't I called ahead of time before I left the house or even during my travel time there? This wasn't the first time something like that happened, it had been at least five other times. It just showed me that they don't care like they did in 2020 and 2021 about their customers. I voiced my concerned and I was promised a call back from the owner or corporate office that day by the office manager. Two weeks had gone by and still no call. I called and talked to another lady and again was promised a call with no call ever returned. I've emailed and text twice more and still after a month, no reply or any type of resolution to my queries. Again, shows me they don't mind overcharging, they don't mind wasting time and they don't care about customers or the animals. The vet is good but the staff is unknowledgeable and disrespectful of people, their animals and their time. Evergreen in Olympia is now my favorite new vet clinic. I rather drive further and pay more in gas etc than to have to go to a business that doesn't care. I highly encourage people to not go here until they change their staff to people who care, respect their customers, animals and the hard earned money they spend there. read more

Excellent experience. We had to euthanize our best friend of 13 years. The staff was respectful, caring and let my husband and I the time to say our goodbyes. Recommended by Scatter Creek. Dr. Jill Seuss was very knowledgeable and helpful, and made my nervous blue heeler feel right at home! Very friendly staff, nice and clean facility! Easy to get to and easy to find, plenty of parking. Only down sides are that there's not a whole lot of space outside for "potty walks", and the building does not have much signage. read more

This was the only vet in the surrounding area that would give us an urgent appointment when they opened back up after being closed due to covid. Our little westie had an ear infection so bad, he would cry, and chew himself until he bled. We called all the vets in the area and everyone told us we had a month long wait ahead of us. We called this place and told them what was going on. They told us they were super busy, but the vet would do a quick visit considering the circumstances. We are forever thankful for this place and they are officially our permanent vet. We love everyone that works here - staff is super friendly and knowledgeable! Highly recommend! read more

I moved here in 2021, and had a difficult time getting a vet. my then 10 year old dog had a uti and I knew it. didn't matter. my other dog had yeasty ears, rash on belly, and licked his paws raw. after six months and a couple visits to steamboat island I got meds for her uti, and meds for allergy. the vet before wasn't regular so on any given appt made it was cancelled. my dog also had the shakes, they gave her ansaids, which ultimately gave her blood in stools and vomit. I quit dosing her, and took care of her myself , my other dog continued with his "allergy" apparent it wasn't working. I finally figured out he couldn't do chicken or eggs which is in all dog. so started making him home food. her on the other hand was and up and down ride...I went else where and found holistic vet in tumwater, for her shakes she did acupuncture, and turned me on to a chiropractor, but her incontinance was supratic....fast forward, she got worse and worse, I took her several times begging them to figure out why she was bloating and drinking copious amounts of water, to availe , blood tests two weeks ago, the vet Seuss said she's fine nothing wrong, let's do her teeth, blood looks good and let's do hormones, well three days ago and six day,s íntimo these hormones she woke me up with a lapping sound, tongue flicking like a snake, shaking like crazy, tale down head down disorientated, I laid her on a heating blanket and waited for them to open, the. she had three seizures and panting in between, I knew she was dying. they open I took her up there to find out no vet on thrusdays...showed the receptionist the video I took of her and she suggested taking her to urgent...I called them as I got on highway, well I got there and showed them the video, they immediately took her from me, I didn't even see the vet yet, however in that ten minute span, the vet came in and said it wasn't the hormones that my dog was riddled in large cancerous tumors in her stomach, colon, spine and base of her neck..hence the seizures....i was dumbfound and PISSED!!! i told her she had had bloodwork a week ago and they said nothing wrong looks great and let's do those teeth....1600 dollars by the way....so I already knew when she was seizing that she wouldn't make it home, so yes I let her go. I wouldn't take a pair of old sock to that place considering I spent hundreds of dollars on blood tests 550.00 a pop, and X-rays 200 a pop, and all I heard was here's some antibiotics, here's some pain pills, she's healthy alls good let's do those teeth...let's get those vaccines... all I can think about is how much pain she must have been in these last couple of years, I wish what happened to my girl happens to all of them. when I shared this yesterday with an organization in Austin tx, they wanted her records, all of them, cuz what she said to me was there is no way in hell that those blood tests would have come back okay clear to do teeth!!! I said it won't change anything and she said it could save other animals from what happened to my girl. find a different vet cuz they suck!! read more

I have been coming here for over a year. While I had issues with not being able to bring my dogs in due to covid, I understood. I took a day off work for an exam and blooddraw for my dogs medicine he cant come off of. I was inform they would not examine him because of lack of records. His vaccines were done at another clinic and funny they had no problems seeing him for the past year. Im quite sure they were originally given previous records. So my dog needing medication he cant come off of was turned away. The vet was cold but the staff has always been friendly. I wont be going back and have gone to another vet. Since I train and compete I will not be recommending them to my customers and friends. The previous care for both my dogs was fine, but not stellar. There are other vets out there with a better manner toward their patients. read more

I brought my cat in to be neutered and have all his shots, microchipping etc. I can not recommend this clinic at all. Firstly when they make the appointment they can't give you an estimate over the phone, for such a routine appointment it shouldn't be a problem to get a phone estimate. I was told I would get a full one before the procedure. I was given no pre-op instructions, no confirmation call/text, nothing. The day before surgery I made sure he didn't eat after midnight (no instruction from the clinic, just knew from experience). Upon getting there both my best friend and I had appointments for our cats (she's a retired vet tech of 16 years), we filled out the paperwork and then waited almost a half an hour, outside because of the pandemic, to get our estimates. We didn't get a list of options for the procedure and on my original estimate there was a $50 blood test for my KITTENS liver and kidney function, they also included an added $40 new patient exam fee that wasn't mentioned in the $85 neuter fee we were told when we called. After I had the blood test removed, my total came to $240. I was also told they they had no oral dewormer on hand and could only give my ex barn cat a topical dewormer. After the full day they called with the updated time to come get the cats. I was getting both cats so I went to pick them up and arrived 15 minutes early in a hope to get discharge paperwork completed so when they were ready we could leave. 30 minutes after my arrival I was charged for the service and given receipts, printed discharge instructions and a brief "one of these once a day starting tomorrow" with no explanation of the medication, general after care info or anything else. Another 15 minutes later they bring the cats out, again no further instructions they just put them in my car. At no point was I offered the option of an e collar purchase or told to put on any sort of protection when we got home (also knowledge from previous experience). No information on the microchip that was paid for and hopefully placed in my cat. The only thing that seems to have been done properly and communicated well was the prescription for 4 pills of dewormer I asked for. I honestly wish I would've spent the little bit of extra money to have my dogs normal vet take care of my cat too. After having such a wonderful experience at Northwest spay and neuter I wasn't as wary as I should've been just based on the price. Definitely will NOT be going back here and I'm hoping that in the future they will implement better staff training and better client services for any future patients they care for. Edit: the clinic contacted me about my concerns and spent 10 minutes taking suggestions and righting what they could. I changed my review to reflect their responsiveness to my concerns and in hopes that staff training helps the operation run smoother. I would also like to add that none of my concerns were ever for the health or safety of my cat, he seemed totally fine with the whole thing. read more

Keepers animal clinic is the only place we will take our animals. They are kind and respectful and have always gone above and beyond for my animals. Brought my pup in because no vet in my area was able to see within the next month. They quoted me 550.00 to do all needed for an ear infection. I picked what I felt was necessary and as much as I could afford to get her treated 300.00. Now the ear infection is back I call to get some antibiotics get the run around from reception saying they sent the prescription for 3 days then the Doc gets on the phone today Friday 4 days into infection and tells me I have to come all the way back to Grand Mound to restart process. Very upset and now pup will go the weekend in pain. read more

This vet clinic is welcoming, clean and all of the staff are really nice. My dog is terrified of going to the vet but he was really good going here. The staff spoiled him with treats and lots of pets. Staff got down on the floor with him and he did not even try to hide from them, he actually walked right up to Ashley the tech and Dr Phan the vet. They allowed all of my dogs to have a tour of the clinic so they would feel more comfortable and it really helped. No other vet clinic that I have been to has ever tried so hard to make my animals feel comfortable at the vets. This clinic is awesome. read more

We waited weeks to get into this clinic as they were only one taking new patients on the list of approved vets from Conern for Animals, a group that provides $75 to low-income pet owners on an initial visit. We first did a virtual appt with Dr. Jill Suess for $40 and she set an appt for a week later or so at the clinic, though we never saw her, just another vet. She said she understood the financial issues and how sick our dog was and it would likely be $169 at the clinic for what she suggested. On our first visit, a 1.5-hour drive from our home, we were only given calming pills to our dog and no in-take; round-trip over three hours. On our second visit a week later we did see a vet and they recommended various tests, including x-rays, but the tech or vet who was quoting us in the parking lot said not likely needed. When our dog was ready to go the bill was over $600, including $300 for x-rays. They tried to charge us for an office visit, even though Dr. Suess said there would be no charge because we paid for a virtual visit. And the vet was not sure what was wrong except for a mouth infection. We were sent home with antibiotic pills and no real explantion. Because our dog would not take the pills, I called and asked if there was a shot with antibiotics and the office person said yes it was $80. We drove a third time to Keepers the following week and the shot was now $250, not $80, and they charged a $40 offikce visit, even though the shot was given in the car outside the clinic. The ONLY person who offered us any discount was the tech or runner who provided us the bill in the parking lot after the shot. She looked at me I (I'm 72) and said there is a senior discount that could be applied and went inside to adjust the bill. NO ONE offered us a discount when we had the original work done and we actually went INSIDE the clinic to pay the bill and pick up our dog as he had been given a sedative for tests. Now here's the kicker: NO ONE from Keepers has ever contacted us to see how our dog is doing. The only communication was an email from them trying to sell dog food. We finally went to a vet hospital in Sumner and determined that our dog has a kidney infection. Of the dozens of tests and x-rays Keepers did they could not properly diagnose the problem...My suggestion: Don't go here!! They lied to us twice - and overcharged based on quotes! read more

Our normal vet did not have any openings and my cat had an urgent matter. They recommend us to try The Keepers Animal Clinic and I was thrilled to find out Dr. Seuss was the new owner. She had seen my pets numerous times over the years at Scatter Creek. Unfortunately Dr. Seuss was off that day but another vet was available. They were able to accommodate an urgent drop off appt. Due to COVID my ill cat was picked up curbside where I proceeded to fill out paperwork. One of the forms inquires about treatment and I selected to proceed with an exam and then they would contact me to go over findings, recommended treatment plan, and cost estimates before moving forward. After several hours I called the vet to check on my cat and the receptionist stated that they were waiting a bit to do a repeat xray and waiting to get urine. I was shocked. They had not communicated anything with me in regards to my pet and also did not get authorization to provide treatment without my consent. Apparently they had found a large mass in my cats stomach and were waiting do another xray to see if it was potentially food. At this point they had already started treatment without communicating anything with me. I never once received a cost estimate until I called to ask about picking up my cat and when payment is due. I was shocked to find out the cost was almost $900. The office staff was apologetic but did nothing to rectify the situation. The vet seemed knowledgeable but was rushed and continued to talk over me when I would ask questions so I could comprehend the situation better. I asked to be sent home with pain medication for my cat which was not provided. I was told I had to pay the balance before my cat could be picked up. The next morning the vet called and stated that my cat needed an ultrasound or emergency surgery. They could not accommodate a surgery for my cat and did not have ultrasound capabilities. Ultimately in the end I had to make the heartbreaking choice to have my cat humanely euthanized. I did not go back to this clinic however. I went back to Scatter Creek for this service because they have always been up front with me, communicate with me throughout, and provide costs estimates before performing treatment. read more
