THEY "KLEENED" OUT MY CHINA HUTCH AND SHELVES:
We hired Keeping It Kleen last summer when my wife was diagnosed with cancer. I like doing things myself, and I take pride in maintaining my things, but between my work schedule, caring for a twelve-year old, and caring for my wife, I just couldn't maintain the house. So we interviewed four companies, and based on Keeping It Kleen's apparent professionalism we hired them.
Honestly, I liked their logo, and I liked that they were a young couple from the community who seemed to be making a go of owning their own business.
Like any sensible person, I am wary of providing strangers with my gate code and a key to my home. At first, Titus and Theona were professional, as others have noted, but their team kept making mistakes.
One of their "professionals" broke a candlestick (they replaced it), another chipped our new kitchen tile in two different places by mishandling the stove grates. They bullied us into finding replacement tile by the end of the week, or else they said they'd have to "close the case." My wife had cancer! I work full time and watch my daughter! How was I supposed to go all over town to find an exact match of our tile in a few days?
Many times their "professionals" left the shower dirty with mildew. Only after I mentioned it three times and then emailed pictures did their cleaner fix it. Also, they never could seem to get everything dusted.
The worst, though, came a few weeks after Christmas when they stole over $1500 worth of plates, table linens, and glasses. Most of these items were tucked away in china hutches. They didn't even steal entire sets, so now my wife has incomplete sets. Many of the dishes were given to me by my late mother; now I have even less to remember her by.
They even stole our two BROOMS! Who can't see the obvious symbolism there?? Who would miss the message of a pissed off cleaning company stealing the very items that we would use to clean our own house?
It is so serious, that I have an open case with the Fresno Police Department. There was no forced entry, and only my mother-in-law and Keeping It Kleen had a key.
When I called to confront them they were immediately defensive and hostile. One of Titus's first questions was, "Were any of the items .999 silver? Were any of them gold?" When I said, "No," he said, "Yeah, that's the first thing the police will ask, and they won't care about investigating it because they aren't silver or gold." They knew these items wouldn't be considered significant; but they didn't do the the math: combined the value exceeded $1500.
What real thief leaves a computer and a flat screen tv, but takes cleaning supplies and table settings?
Within twenty-four hours he ensured me that he had conducted a "thorough investigation" and there was no way the items were stolen.
Then, we asked to meet with them and scheduled a 5:30pm appointment to inventory the missing items. They were friendly on the phone, as always, and promised they'd be over to "assess the situation." They never showed. They never returned a call after that.
However, they did send a letter two days later thanking us for our business but telling us that they were terminating our relationship.
Unless your house is totally nanny cammed and you like eating off of paper plates, DO NOT HIRE THEM. read more
