Keezer's is an absolute life saver! I wasn't sure if they could resolve a certain cosmetic issue that I had with my gown, but I figured I'd ask them to see if they can make alterations as the worst case they can say is no. To my surprise, they said that they have an identical gown and a patch I was looking for! Instead of going through the trouble of making alterations, he said that he will charge me a small fee if I am open to swapping gowns instead, to which I agreed! That interaction really made my day because I was stressing at the idea of not being able to participate in festivities because my gown didn't reflect the right color scheme. I cannot recommend Keezer's enough for their outstanding service! read more

Beware - your alterations will probably be too short. I made a huge shopping spree and brought the clothes here for alteration, upon a strong recommendation. On more than one occasion, I had to send the altered clothes back for re-alteration b/c the sleeves were too short. I've since discovered a couple clothes that are ruined b/c they were cut too short. This was one of the worst experiences I've had in terms of customer service in a while. The lack of care by their team is beyond me. I came in on Saturday, Sept 7 in the morning, with two pairs of pants for alterations. One of the tailors pointed at the dressing rooms but didn't state that there's a line so I asked other customers to wait in queue. After a bit of a wait in line as well as for the next available tailor for assistance, my pants were marked for alterations. I was then directed to fill out a tag with my name and phone number. I was never given a timeline as to when they'd be complete or how I'd be contacted. I was also not given an estimate to expect how much the alterations would cost. I waited until Thursday, Sept 12, to call to get a status update. I was put on hold then the person on the phone could not tell me if they could locate my clothing items or when they'd be done and told me they'd call me back. I never got a call back that day. I called again on Saturday, Sept 14, to see if my items were ready yet. Person who answered the phone jotted my name and tag number down, then proceeded to put the phone in their pocket for 20 minutes. All I heard was shuffling and assisting other customers while I waited to be assisted. I decided to hang up and call again and got a different person on the phone who said that they'd have the alterations complete by Monday. I asked for a price estimate, they said that they wouldn't be able to give me one at this time. On Monday, Sept 16, I arrive at Keezer's around 5:30p and gave my slip to the sales associate. They looked around and couldn't find them for a bit until they looked at the 'in queue' rack. They told me they weren't ready yet and to come back tomorrow. I wasn't given an apology or any type of explanation as to why they weren't completed even though I explicitly explained that I was told on Saturday that they'd be ready today. I called today, Tuesday, Sept 17 around 12:30p to confirm if my clothes were ready to be picked up and was told over the phone I should've gotten a confirmation text and that they're ready. I told them I'd be there after work to grab them and arrived as they were closing. I was able to quickly try on my pants and then at checkout, explained I was given the runaround by their store members and the sales associate could barely provide me with any type of apology or explanation besides stating they've been swamped. I also explained I never got a text message for confirmation and the sales associate looked through their device for the confirmation text and confirmed none was ever sent to me. For 2 pairs of pants (1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of chinos), it cost me $120. $45 each pair for the waist to be taken in, and $30 for the chinos to be hemmed. I am severely disappointed in Keezer's as they have been recommended to me highly by colleagues and friends. The sheer lack of care and management is abysmal. I do not see myself returning for their services in the foreseeable future. read more

I had a fantastic experience at Keezer's. I've previously bought small items like cufflinks at a tie at their Central Square location, and I visited their new Mass Ave location recently for a blazer. I ended up with 2 very nice navy blazers (Brooks Brothers, priced reasonably). One of them was double-breasted and needed a button moved, which the tailor did right there in 5 minutes. The manager was very helpful in helping me find the blazers. I plan to go back for future menswear needs. read more

I want to begin this review by saying that 2 out of 3 of the employees I spoke with were wonderful and kind and the alterations that were made to the jacket I brought in were perfect, and the prices are very reasonable. Keezer's would be an ideal place to get a suit altered if it were not for the third employee who is an extremely transphobic asshole. While I was looking for a shirt, a group of men were having a loud conversation in the next aisle over that I was generally not listening to, however it is difficult for me to ignore the word "tranny" being thrown around casually. The context used was something about "trannies reading kids stories", which is obviously referring to the hot topic of drag performers reading books for children at libraries. As I was heading to check out, the man who had said this (he has an unmistakable southern accent) asked me if I found everything alright. I told him yes, but for his reference, the word he was looking for was "drag queen" and not "tranny". He told me that he does not care and that it makes no difference to him. I informed him that tranny is a slur and that as a transgender person, hearing him use this makes me incredibly uncomfortable. He once again told me to my face that he did not care and that it was on me if I was listening in on his (loud) private conversation (in a nearly silent store). I told him that his conversation was quite loud and that as a customer this made me feel very unwelcome. He simply said ok, and very clearly, true to his word, did not care. Unfortunately, judging by the website, it looks like he may be the owner, or at the very least a very involved employee (nearly all of the pictures that feature a person on both their website and their Instagram show him). I will never be returning to Keezer's for this reason and cannot recommend that any trans person, those who care about trans people, or anyone who would like to be treated with basic respect use their service either. I needed to rent a tuxedo for a black tie wedding. The experience with Keezers was bad at every point. They have no selection of style - it's only black with notched lapels. (I had wanted midnight blue with shawl lapels.) One type of shoe: plastic. one type of shirt. One type of trousers: cinch waist. Cinch waist trousers come undone when you sit, so I asked for suspenders to be added to my rental. They agreed, but when I opened the bag, there were no suspenders. I also also confirmed that they would be supplying studs, cufflinks, all the necessary accessories. They provided unmatched cufflinks. One was red, the other white, in different metals. They did not provide any studs. And crucially, They did not provide a tie for a black tie outfit!! I trusted them, so I didn't check everything until I was at the hotel getting dressed. Finally, when I went to return the items, the tailor tried to tell me they were closed, even though it was the same time and day I had been the first time, he was in the shop, other customers were in the shop, the sign on the door said they were open, and the hours posted on the door and online said they were open. I've been to Keezer's a few times in the last year for basic tailoring services. They've done a fine job with the simple things I asked for, but I don't think I'll be returning since the employees are collectively so terrible at customer service. On multiple occasions I've tried to drop something off and it's like the staff, whether they're seemingly occupied with other customers or not, are in a competition to see who can ignore you the longest. It's entirely unclear what you have to do to get any kind of service at Keezer's. You go down the stairs and for some reason there are two counters: What is the purpose of each? Am I supposed to wait at one of them? Among the people milling about, who actually works there? Hard to say, because I can guarantee no one's going to welcome you when you arrive or ask "How can I help you today?" It's even worse when they get busy because then the problem is compounded: The no-mans-land between the counters becomes a mass of lost-looking people all being ignored. There's no queuing system or waiting area, so good luck trying to guess how long you'll be standing around. Bostonian Tailoring (downtown) is a bit of a trek for me, but I'll be using them exclusively in the future. read more

The tuxedo rental prices are a throwback to my senior prom...uuuhhh a few decades ago. I remember paying $50 at the time and this place is stuck in a time warp and hasn't gone up since. Kudos to them for that. Parking is simple and the lot has never been full, just come down the one way street it is on and pull right into the lot. You also never really know what you are going to get as it all depends on what is pulled off the rack. Most are pretty standard black tuxes with different colored vests (that cost another $10) but they may not have your size or something that is super high end that would have a cost of $1000 outside of the store. The times I've rented, I have no clue what brand I even ended up with, just knowing that it looked good enough for the high profile events. Help here is decent even if a bit curt. Don't go in looking for a warm and fuzzy experience. They'll get you in and out in about a half hour if you aren't too picky and that includes trying everything on with some instructions on how things work, like adjusting pant size without a belt. It's man vs. man customer service, kind of like what you'd get at a local hardware store....no BS but no smiles, either. My biggest and really only complaint is the smell of the clothing. It has that moth ball, old man type funk to it and I had to cover myself in cologne for the event just to cover it up. I didn't know what else to do, would febreze work? When my recent rental was returned, they thoroughly went through all pockets before I walked out the door to ensure I didn't leave anything behind. The price can't be beat but the product quality certainly can. So you need to weigh out what you are looking for and most of us just want something quick and easy for a wedding, funeral, ball or cruise and not have to drop two benjys on it. read more

Got angry at me for suggesting we switch out the jacket to the size I originally wanted. I was willing to pay more for this, mind you. Still very rude. Offered to do a second round of tailoring (which I paid for). Still looked like an old man in an oversized suit. Oh, and their communication is terrible - called several times simply to ask if the suit was ready for pickup and they ALWAYS said I don't know, we'll call you back and NEVER did. $600 wasted, I will never wear this suit. Life lesson learned - don't trust online reviews, refuse to pay until goods are in hand and you're satisfied, and don't try to save money by going secondhand if you want a suit to look great. read more

Spectacular shop for quality menswear My son is into vintage menswear and so we headed out to Keezer's to find him some nice things on a recent trip to Boston. The selection is amazing, the clothing excellent, and the service exceptional. If you are looking for 'cheap' menswear Keezer's isn't the place but it was quite inexpensive for the quality of the goods (and brands). We ended up dropping a nice chunk of change but could easily have spent much, much more if we had the inclination and wherewithal. Like the best Coke recipe, I'm a classic kinda guy and based on the last time I shelled out for a one-nighter (aside from that stint in Bangkok), the setup set me back $100. A nameless staffer I wanted to call Giuseppe put me in a spotless wool tux with vest, shirt, tie, cufflinks and studs for $60 (normally $50 with the vest running an added $10). A rental, mind you, I planned on picking up the following day, and was instead sent home with immediately. Plus, Giuseppe whispered, "It's no trouble if you bring it back after the weekend." Well G, if you insist. There is no order and inventory is scattered like felines in a cat lady's abode, but you get what you need, longer than you need it, for three Jacksons and 15 minutes of your precious, precious day. I am a long time customer of Keezers going back to the 80s so I was thrilled to see that a location has opened in my Porter Square neighborhood. I recently had alterations done to a dress for a wedding and I sent my son and his friend there to find clothing and have alterations done for the same weddings. Today my son went to pick up his jacket and to purchase a shirt. While he was shopping an older man with glasses and a beard was helping some customers and talking loudly about "trannies". This word is a slur for transgender people and is as offensive as using the N word. My son let the man know the correct, inoffensive word for what he was talking about, to which the man replied that he didn't care. My son then told him that he is a transgender person and that he found his language offensive. The man repeated that he didn't care. If this man is an employee he should be fired immediately for this behavior as a representative of the business. If this person is the new owner, SHAME ON YOU! I will never shop in Keezers again and I will let all of my neighbors and friends know not to shop there. I will also post reviews describing the disgusting treatment of my son in this store. This is completely unacceptable and I will do everything in my power to make it clear this behavior won't be tolerated. read more

A very nice store with great second hand dress and business casual menswear. Thoughtful staff, extremely nicely laid out inventory. Definitely worth taking a look to pick up some nice menswear. Prices are reasonable and they have a superb tailor in house. There were some things your don't see very much at this price point of used medium and higher end menswear: a good selection of good quality sweaters, all nicely folded and displayed. Lots of overcoats. Some good very high end sport jackets. You can hunt without having to claw through. Good sorting of everything by size and type. Definitely worth checking out. Fantastic place with a very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable staff. I was impressed by how many suits and articles of clothing they had. The gentleman who assisted me was terrific - professional, knowledgeable on style, rapidly picked out outfits which suited me and delivered the goods within the timeframe promised. If they happen to have a suit with close enough fit to be tailored, you can get a high-end suit purchased and tailored for less than 300. Customer service was lacking a little in my case, the guy who started me off disappeared and I had to approach another staff member to help me out with the rest, though the second guy was much more helpful. I passed by this store for years until I needed a tux for the Brattle Theater Oscar party in 2016. They fitted me for a tux and answered a dozen questions in about 20 minutes. The tux I tried on was the exact one that I walked away with a few days later and they allowed me to hold onto it for a few days. Try renting a tux anywhere else, they'll take your measurements and send for a tux from a warehouse that will supposedly fit you, and don't even think about having it for more than one day without serious extra charges. A+ for allowing me to try on whatever my little heart desired and for also allowing me to get a few pictures of myself looking not entirely unlike a frilly Easter egg. Their suit selection is fantastic and all were reasonably priced. I abhor wearing suits so I avoid this at all costs. However, should something come up where I absolutely can't avoid it I think I will be back to pick up a nice one on the cheap. I also enjoyed looking through their racks of pants. Sadly, they were just a touch more than I was willing to spend (just as well as two other Yelpers came in while I was there looking for the same thing). They were so much fun to try on though. Their rental section seems expansive and has so many options for accessories to match any hideous color scheme a wedding may throw at you. Oh, and they have ruffled shirts, LOTS of them. They have shoes galore though the prices on those seem slightly out of touch with reality. $150 for used shoes? Used. I work for a shoe site so I understand how much Allen-Edmonds retail for but torn leather is torn leather regardless of the name attached. One other gripe. The hours are limiting. I work in DTX and since the red line seems to burst in to flames every time I step on after 5 it can be hard to make it to Central by 6. For men though, this is hands-down the best vintage store I've come across. It was so nice to be surrounded by things that I actually could actually wear. I wasn't relegated to the one sad little rack in the back corner, no. This store was all me and great fun. Shopping at Keezer's feels like a treasure hunt. No where else does my ability to zoom in on the most expensive items in a store (what my mom calls a curse) come in so handy! Perhaps I have found my calling in quickly pulling Zegna and Ralph Lauren suits out from amongst the hundreds of Men's Warehouse ones. For that, my boyfriend thanked me for making shopping so "efficient." There are some unbelievable finds here, both new and second-hand, selling for 10% of the original price. If you're interested in tuxedos, you can buy one here for the equivalent price of renting elsewhere- and if it's your lucky day, (like it was my boyfriend's) then you can walk out owning a perfectly fitted Barney's tux (easily worth 1,000 dollars) for a cool 100. Beyond excellent service! I went down in a hurry to get a tuxedo for a wedding. Having purchased three suits in the last 36 years I was clueless about sizes, styles and, most importantly, about cost. My haste and ignorance could have been exploited, but the opposite occurred. The gentleman who looked after me acted like a kindly uncle. Within 45 minutes I emerged onto the street with the whole outfit - jacket, pants (taken up on the premises with mathematical precision), shirt and fit-to-be-tied bow tie. A massive collection of ridiculously cheap men's suits, tuxes, frock coats, and other dressy garments. The quality and condition of the suits vary considerably, but with a little adventurous searching it's not hard to find something in very good to excellent condition for criminally cheap. You are saving so much money buying here that you can easily afford a good tailor to transform the suit so it looked as if it was made to fit you and still be spending less than half of what you would have in retail. They also have a rather random collection of men's hats including bowlers and fedoras. Finding your size and a style you like is a bit tricky but the stock changes very often. Truly a hidden gem. read more

I didn't even bother going to a tux place at the mall after reading the reviews for Keezers. This is the right place. My uber-proper daughter commiserated with the sales person about how improper it was for my groom to be wearing a tux for an afternoon wedding - everyone knows a 2pm wedding demands a morning coat. The well seasoned sales person Dave was low key but very well versed in proper suit etiquette, fit and style. He did not give me grief when I pointed my groom towards tails even though tails are an after 7pm option, though my daughter certainly did. Dave measured up my intended, then we worked our way up from the cheap tuxes, the nicer used tuxes (under $80), and up to a Zanieri, the best one in the place (under $500). Getting the type of suit you want in the size you want is a bit hit and miss. As mentioned before the sales people are honest about the fit and steer you toward what looks good on you. At one point Dave pointed out a hard-to-see flaw in the suit, took it back to the sales desk to be marked (and marked down?). The selection is huge, so your chances are pretty darn good of finding something that suits you. Caveats: The shoe selection is OK - new and used, but not as good as the suit selection. We also ended up going elsewhere for a vest, K&G's Suits. Keezer's smells a bit musty - but its paid for, which is why they can go so low on their prices. The studs, ties and cummerbunds are very reasonable. Overall this place gets 5 stars for transforming my mister into a sharp dressed man quickly and in budget. We'll be back the next time he needs formal wear. read more

Wanna dress like 7 figures on a grad student stipend? Step through the time warp into Keezers. The pace, the atmosphere, and the prices are definitely anachronistic. Not only are the purchase and rental prices great (50 bucks for a complete tux, with cumberbund or vest, tie, studs, cuff links - 7.50 more if you need shoes), but unlike most rentals they aren't looking for ways to gouge you for more. They can be pretty forgiving about returns a day or two late, or a missing stud. Hopefully rising rents in Cambridge won't drive this place away. read more
