I don't think it was by chance I decided on this church...I found the church to be welcoming and a great Christian atmosphere. My "soul" was fed during my time at Fort Lee. I was a bit thrown off by the loud upbeat worship team on my first visit and thought perhaps I stepped into the young adult service, but all services are the same. The worship team loudly, proudly, and full of energy sing their hearts out to Jesus! Great church!!!

I always feel like something's missing when I go to other churches when I'm away at school. The way Pastor Cook delivers the sermons is in a personable, understandable way that doesn't try to talk over your head. He's all about the message being accessible to everyone, as it should be. There's always humor in the mix, too, and lots of real talk. He's not afraid to address the issues head on, even if it involves himself. The church is the perfect size, not too big or too small, and there's 8AM and 11AM services as well as Wednesday Bible study at 11:30 AM with one of our deacons (Deacon Davis or Deacon Miller) (it's mostly for retirees, but I like to go, too :)) and 7:30 with the pastor. And something that really makes this place feel like home is the music. They keep it old school and I love it. We have a foot stompin' good time praising the Lord and on Youth Day, the wonderful youth choir gives us a nice change of pace. Stop by sometime, you will surely receive a warm welcome.

I was invited to this church by my cousin who had an orchestra performance. I was filled with…read morenostalgia because my grandfather (Benjamin James Miller Sr.) was a member for decades until his death. However my experience was far from expected. The church members were extremely rude and disrespectful and I felt that they thought we were imposing upon them because they were having a meeting and banquet (which we were unaware of) after the 10 minute orchestra performance). The pastor himself said, "Ok guests, you can go now. We have a meeting" and he kept pushing as my sister tried to finish breastfeeding her baby. He also said, One member said, "Oh, they are trying to stay here to eat". Even if we were invited to stay for the dinner that we didnt even known about, we wouldn't have stayed because we were there since 6 when the performance actually started at 7 and lasted 10 min. The bulletin sent to guests said that it was at 6 and for some reason started an hour late. My grandfather is probably rolling in his grave over his beloved church.
