We first knew Mei as our property manager for a townhome we were renting in Sunnyvale. She stood out as a person who treated us with a great deal of respect and was very responsive to our questions and issues. Very soon we decided to look to own and were pleasantly surprised she handled home purchases as well. Purchasing a place in a market like Bay Area can be overwhelming effort, even in the big-data-internet enabled real-estate market where all the data is available to us on our phones. I was referred to Kevin by my sister, who used him for the sale of her Mountain View home. Upon meeting him, I found Kevin to be friendly, professional, and delightfully non-pushy for my business (I can't stand agents who are always pushing their business card on you or who are self-aggrandizing). He was initially a consultant to me as I attempted to sell my condo on a "for sale by owner" basis to my tenant. Mei made our home search & buying process a breeze during these unconventional times of Covid-19. My husband and I have been casually looking on Zillow for several years for the perfect starter home with a big yard for quite some time. With a baby on the way, we decided that reaching out to a realtor would help us achieve that dream and were recommended by two of our friends who speak highly of her. We were really hesitant on this idea and did not want to feel pressured by realtors but Mei was so opposite of that. She exceeded our expectations of a realtor, exhibiting these qualities: 1) She was very FLEXIBLE in scheduling and showing us homes that we wanted to see and found comparable ones. It almost seems like a hassle to do when most listings are now virtual open houses and have certain regulations, all while talking to pushy realtors. We were glad to have Mei on our side to arrange all that. 2) She was extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE of the comps of our desired neighborhood. She also knew the condition of the houses in the area and other specific details to give us a realistic idea of what each house needed in terms of repairs. She also is a good resource with a lot of great contacts and contractors. 3) She was AVAILABLE to answer any questions and concerns we had of each house. Even asked for her unbiased professional opinion which helped us tremendously in narrowing down the perfect home for us. And before signing/initialing all the important documents, she would break everything down so we knew what we were literally signing our life away to. She even kept us on track and helped us close escrow with our mortgage lenders as they were not the easiest to deal with. 4) She was HONEST about each house and realistic in what each property was worth. Initially, we fell in love with a house and really wanted to jump fast on it. She did her part to negotiate a reasonable price for us but the sellers would not budge. She knew the market and knew what that property was really worth with all the repairs that needed to be done. We trusted her judgement and she was totally right as the property was reduced in price twice and is still on the market. This really opened our eyes seeing other properties with more potential and prevented us from getting ripped off. 5) Lastly, she was so EFFICIENT and comfortable to work with. She made this buying process so effortless and covered everything we did not know in buying a house. She even took her own time to read over important details such as disclosure reports which was really tedious and foreign for us to read but we really appreciate her giving more insight on this. She also constantly kept in touch regularly with the real estate agents & sellers to see where we were at with the negotiation process and landed us a deal they could not refuse. We were so ecstatic as we knew this property was going to go off the market fast. We were so skeptical in buying a house during this time but it definitely is a buyer's market. So glad to have Mei every step of the way and we appreciate her for going above and beyond for us.
