I typically really like all Ace Hardware stores - locally owned, smaller store, helpful employees, etc. I had a one off experience today where I called the plumbing department. A young man put me on hold for 30 minutes and never came back to let me know if he had anything that would fit what I was looking for. He just never came back. Let me repeat: HE NEVER CAME BACK. I called back after 30 minutes and the lady who answered put me on hold, but came back within a few minutes to say: "He said that nothing we have fits." Why he left me hanging for 30 minutes was unacceptable. read more

This somewhat small hardware store beats the big-box version hands down. The staff are friendly and helpful and available unlike those in the orange aprons that never seem to be around when I have a question. But more than that, every time I've needed something, they have it. And affordably priced. AND you can get in and out quickly where a human being checks you out instead of having to use self-checkout while the paid employees stand around watching you do their job. This Ace Hardware is very compact inside. Aisles are very tight for the amount space this one has. It's definitely on a busy roadway so be prepared to wait a bit to enter and exit during peak hours of traffic. The staff here are friendly and awesome. They do accept Apple or Google Pay. I came here for the B&B briquettes along for B&B some post oak and hickory 1.25 cubic bags. It's unfortunate they didn't have the B&B post oak or hickory 1.25 cubic bags available. But they did have the B&B briquettes. Their backyard barbecue area is a nice size, I just wished they carried more of the B&B 1.25 cubic bags of wood products. Have you ever been to one of the big box, hardware stores and you can't find a soul to help you? This place is just the opposite. I was immediately greeted as soon as I walked in, and the gentleman asked me what I was looking for. He told me immediately which aisle the toilet repair section was. A few minutes later a second staff came up to me and asked if I needed any help. The prices here are great and the customer service is even better. If you're in Georgetown and need to visit the hardware store, definitely come here and leave the orange box place alone. read more

Easy ordering online with curbside pickup. Products are generally in stock and staff are pleasant. Phone in arrival can be chaotic if you get there during a busy time or if you wait several days to retrieve your order. In general a good shopping experience for home snd garden. Have always done curbside so no clue what the inside of the store looks like. Overall recommend. read more

I love having this smaller, old school hardware store nearby. There are plenty of people to help you find what you're looking for, and they still offer loose nuts and bolts so you can buy the quantity you need, no more no less. I will continue to make my purchases here whenever I can. read more

**Terrible customer service** If you are going to sell Craftsman products you should honor their lifetime warranty. It's impossible to exchange a like for like hose that is 10 years old. Unfortunately you have lost a customer that just relocated to Georgetown. Was supporting the local small business but can't anymore with your service. read more

Needed service for my Stihl string trimmer. Came in, met Ira the Stihl whisperer and ordered some parts. Parts arrived in a few days. Ira requested that I bring my device in for a check-up. Gave my trimmer a thorough check (set the valves, checked compression checked grease level etc.). Ira expertly installed some of the parts I ordered but after the inspection Ira determined that not all of the parts I ordered were needed. Cost for inspection, parts installation and parts I ordered but didn't use? 0 dollars! Other small engine repair places would have no doubt charged a pretty penny for the inspection and parts installation and probably the parts I didn't need- when was the last time someone in the repair business told you didn't need to spend money on a repair? Refreshing to meet someone in the service industry that is more than competent, candid and honest. read more

I was greeted shortly after entering the store and taken to the Stihl display. When I asked for a particular pole pruner the clerk asked me to wait while he located a specialist. Within seconds I was joined by a very knowledgeable employee who answered all my questions. When I agreed to buy the pruner he took me to the workshop where he serviced it, explained all its features and made sure I could start it. He went with me to complete the sale then carried it to my truck and loaded it. Customer service doesn't get much better that that. read more

This store has been refurbished and has now reopened very bright and shiny with brand new stock. A good bonus is that they now participate in Ace Rewards. I will always go here first and then Home Depot if I can't find it here. They also carry a limited selection of ammunition. Store is making attempts at social distancing but as of a few days ago, employees were not wearing masks or gloves so won't be back until this current situation is resolved. read more

I know this is a new owner and apparently he is trying to get all the money he spent buying the place back all at once. I know I could have gone somewhere else for a better price, so yes, I guess I'm to blame for paying $40 for a small mud pan and a 10" mud knife. Even the guy at the register didn't believe it. He told me he was gonna check the receipt. When he did he was shocked. It was $40. That will not happen again.no read more

Ace will not get my money any more. Went to buy a $300 swamp cooler..... sold out but they tried to up sell. Ok... no, not trying to spend $500 now. Shopped around, can't find one. Online says they have something a lil smaller in stock at the store, called to verify. Yes!!... they have one. Hauled ass to go get it and 15 mins later, don't have it. I explained, I just called and it was verified that there's 1 left. The girl never made an attempt to verify and apparently I'm wrong. Now I'm pissed. Ordered one online from Ace and it will be delivered in 3 days. Expecting to see it when I get off work...... NOPE!! Online order was canceled. No notification!! Well thank you for nothing. My money will be spent else where. Wasted my time. It will not happen again. I'll spend my money for those who show that they want it. read more

The newly remodeled and new ownership store is fantastic. Easy in easy out. It's a win win for georgetown.

Much better than the ACE that was previously at this location. But if they can try to beef up their outdoor garden area with some decent selections of plans (and better-priced plants, I might add), it would help. We went inside to get one small item, and the manufacturer's rep was actually there and helped find the item! They also had 6-feet separation lines so you could be practicing social distancing. Mark (Assn't manager) and Bob were absolutely phenomenal! I had gone in to pick up a grill I had ordered on line (albeit I had not received a confirmation it was ready). When I got there Mark explained to me what had happened with the order which was significantly back ordered until June. He then took me to look at other grills and I ended up buying a Big Green Egg. Both Mark and Bob spent a lot of time with me as I had already bought a table and was concerned the grill would not fit.
