Went with American Fence to design and fabricate my electric gate. Initial experience was good as they were helpful regarding design, components and cost. Project is 10k+ after installation costs. Crew shows up on time and starts work to remove existing fence and posts. I get a call during this from American Fence telling me they have to upgrade posts from 4" to 6" at an additional cost of $400! Huh? I call and speak with a manger and he basically says they messed up. I'm waiting for the next sentence that tells me they will make this right. Didn't happen. Manger basically says, "too bad". Wow! Our battery operated gate opener quit working a couple of days ago so I called American Fence. A gate expert wasn't available at the moment I called, but one of the staff called me back within a few minutes. I didn't catch the name of who I talked to but he was extremely patient and helpful (I didn't know crap about the system, but do now). After troubleshooting didn't fix the problem, I brought the circuit board in for testing to find it had been fried in a recent lightning storm. They set me up with a new board and set it all up to be reinstalled. Fantastic folks who have my fence business for life. read more

I was torn between buying the top grade 'STK' select knot western red cedar boards from Vicking Fence Company or the western cedar boards from American Fence. Brian was very professional and patient with my questions and told me their boards were good quality and they guaranteed no holes or soft knots in their boards. My experienced fencing contractor spent $2,000!!! on supplies at American Fence. Nearing completion of the job I noticed boards on my side of the 'neighbor' fence that had holes, & milling problems---I asked him to bring his receipt from his purchase 2 days earlier-- and take them & exchange them. He did that with no difficulty this morning . Later today the neighbor paying for 50% of the total cost of the fence who wasn't able ---to look at her side of the fence-- until this morning---then she too found a few boards with holes from knots falling out, one peeling board, about 8-9 boards in total that were inferior and required replacement. I called the store and told Tony my contractor had some more boards to return. He said 'does he have the receipt'. I said 'yes'. He said, ' we have contractors all the time who buy boards at Home Depot and then return them to us. I said he's an honest contractor who bought all his boards & supplies from you. He said 'ok send him out to exchange them w his receipt'. My contractor gets there and Tony is not available and talks with 'Milos'. Next I get a call from my contractor they won't honor the 8/9 boards at $3.29 each. Really! Would rather lose new business then honor their guarantee and to really make a bad situation worst, I had to get loud and aggressive--I'm a 62 year old woman ---with Milos --who asked me to write his name down! To get him to take back the defective boards! But wait there is MORE! Milos then tells me 'ok I'll exchange your boards BUT I NEVER EVER WANT YOUR BUSINESS or you CONTRACTORS BUSINESS! Wow' He gives my contractor the boards and tells him 'get out of here' 'get out of here fast' I'll be getting in touch with the owner of this company. Be aware this company didn't honor their guarantee without a fight and being extremely disrespectful read more

Sometimes a girl needs ten 24" tapered pole extenders. And when she does, this is the place to go! It's way the crap out in Georgetown, but located right on the southbound feeder road of 35, so very convenient on and off. They had what I needed, at a good price, and the customer service was fantastic. The guy who loaded my poles noticed one of my tires was low, and he had an air hose and took care of it for me. If you ever want to go to a friend's company that is totally uncustomer orientated you have come to the right place. I bought $2,800 worth of fencing and needed to bring back for posts and some screen for that they said I needed to have my receipt even though they had me on account due to the fact that I'm Farm exempt. When I finally was able to get back to him with the receipt they told me it was past 30 days and there was nothing they could do the total credit would have come to $75 and they couldn't help me I will never ever shop at this company ever again I will be more than happy to drive to Waco or pass them to Austin to find a better Fence Company I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I was lucky to find this place when I finally saved up enough money to fence my property after 18 years. I saved a great deal of time and money on my treated wooden posts and rolls of fence that I spend the left over budget on automatic gate opener. Boy was I happy to do this. But this is where I give it five stars. After a month my automatic gate opener stopped working and trying to mess with it myself I ended up breaking a peace inside the actuator arm. I took it up to American fence and supply and without question they gave me a new piece and sent me home to fix the problem. Well my problem is worn over there, because when I got home and put everything back together The new unit open passed where I set the limit kept on going when I got it to return past the limit again a little piece inside began to bend.Let's just say I was having a bad day, but every time I went to see the folks at American fence and supply my day got back on track. Milos, Who sold me the unit, took all the care in the world with me to make sure that hassle was going to result in getting the job done. We did some troubleshooting and he found what cause the problem taught me what was going on. He took plenty of time with me to tinker with the unit and tested over and over again in order to send me home ready to go. Well the story doesn't end there. Knowing that all my parts are ready to go my knowledge was bigger and I was about to have a successful install I was installing the control panel and while my back was turned my neighbor said Hey your dog is chewing up the cables! Well he was right all that hassle and my dog chewed up the one plastic piece with the wires connected to it that I need to plug-in to the control panel. So I hopped all back in the truck and head back to American fence and supply where I looked to Milos and said this time I'm paying for what my dog did. Needless to say he took the time to get the new piece put back on properly tested it again sent me on my way and would not charge me. At the end the day I just went for some fence post and save a lot of money doing so. Then shopped the gate opener with Milos, Who talked me through the ins and outs of it all and I did not purchase that day I went home to deliberate. I came back later ready to purchase I got my gate opener. In what ended up being a faulty ground that caused my gate opener stop working this company took care of me again and again. In this busy bustling modern world it's important to remember that humans are servicing and humans are purchasing and I believe it's important when you run into a good group of people to recognize that. So if you're looking for fence supply that is honest fast cost-effective and service oriented I have no doubt you will be happy to choose American fence supply. Have you ever considered going out of your way to shop at a local business? That is a good thing. But, not in this case. I will not return to this fence supply company. There are too many chains as well as other local businesses that provide quality products and good customer service at just as good, if not better, prices. I purchased some products from AFSco recently. As is customary with a large do-it-yourself project I bought more than I needed to make sure I don't have to take multiple trips for more stuff right when I'm close to wrapping up. Also, since they're closed early on Saturdays and all day Sundays I don't want to be left without an option. After stopping by to return the extra product I hit a manager that seemed to be having a bad day. My attempt at returning product was met by some rather loud, rude and obnoxious barking (I can't think of a better way to describe his tone) indicating that he would not accept the return. After pointing out the rather large (3 ft) sign directly behind him that spelled out his return policy that indicated that he should take the returns he returned to his incomprehensible barking rant. They're just another fence supply store. Not particularly friendly to me. Not particularly helpful to me. Nothing about their product seems any different/better than anywhere else. No special prices that I found. I have to ask myself - why would I go back? I won't. Should you? I suggest start elsewhere. read more

Wonderful in so many ways; cheaper on Steel than the local supply house in Austin; cheaper and more variety on sliding overhead barn door rails and fittings than Tractor Supply across the highway; and waaaaaayyy cheaper and much better quality on steel posts and adapters for wooden privacy fences than Lowes or Home Depot. Well worth the scenic drive northward from Austin.....and you don't even have to get on a toll road (savings on all fronts). read more

Simply put, I go here for all my fencing needs. The t-posts they sell here are beefier than Tractor Supply and they are the same price. The ties you get free with the t-posts are the best ones I've ever used too. They also stock just about everything on the tool-side you'll need to drag or build a fence. Every time my buck goat goes sex crazed psycho and destroys something, I go here and get more welded wire. They also load all the heavy stuff for you, which is nice. read more
