The paint was for interior only. This was a color we picked out so normally it would be non refundable. I explained my problem to FINN who immediately got on the phone with a manager and got the approval to refund the paint and made sure I repurchased and was given the correct paint which I ordered. This Home Depot is a very nice store. They're clean and organized and always have staff ready to help one finds their needs. They have a very nice area for plants. They have a good supply of appliances and tools. Home Depot is basically a go to store with almost everything you need for your house or yard. They have some beautiful wind chimes also . One can rent tools or even rent a truck for the day. They also sell ready-made sheds. Their prices are quite reasonable.. Their checkout is all self serve. They have people around the self service stations ready to help. Veterans get a 10% discount. I like this store. It has become my go to store. I highly recommend this Home Depot . read more

Apparently, Home Depot doesn't store carts inside the store anymore. I went in, expecting to find a cart to shop with, only to walk around the store and not find a single cart that I could use. I left, not with what I came for, and then noticed that all of their carts are now stored in the parking lot. That's not convenient. I'll just do a pick up order and let them decide how they're gonna get stuff out to my car tomorrow. Maybe we'll have to walk out into the parking lot, get a cart, go back in and shop for me, and bring it back out to my car. That doesn't seem like a good plan. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with an assistant manager at the Georgetown, Texas Home Depot while trying to resolve an issue regarding a washer and dryer purchase totaling over $1,000 that I had been told would be delivered that day. When I called for clarification, the assistant manager was dismissive and unhelpful. She insisted that my sister -- who lives in Chicago -- would need to come into the Georgetown store in person to resolve the issue. That is not realistic and certainly not reasonable for a delivery issue involving a $1,000+ major appliance purchase. She also suggested there may have been an issue because my sister's bank is "out of state." This explanation does not make sense. Many customers use banks or credit unions headquartered outside of Texas. Modern banking does not require a financial institution to be locally based in order to process a transaction. The comment felt inaccurate and dismissive. Additionally, she indicated that speaking with another manager would not change the outcome and suggested there was no avenue for further review or escalation. The message was clear that no one at the store level was willing to step in to reassess or attempt to resolve the situation. Instead of working toward a solution, there was no meaningful effort to clarify the delivery issue or provide assistance. For a $1,000+ appliance purchase, customers deserve clear communication, professionalism, and problem-solving -- especially when delivery is involved. Customers should never feel like a burden when attempting to spend significant money at a store. If this level of service is standard practice, I would encourage others to consider taking their business to a retailer that values and supports its customers. read more

I had a very bad experience at the Georgetown Home Depot store. I purchased several items and completed my checkout without any problems. After checking out, I took a short length of string that Home Depot usually provides for customers. At that point, a supervisor named Gareth approached me and asked, "Why are you taking this string?" I explained that I needed it to tie my tree. He then said, "This is not for you; this is only to people who buys the lumber." He then called manager Cara, who repeated the same thing. Shortly after, another employee, Mark Thomas, came over and accused me of stealing the string. He was extremely rude and disrespectful. I immediately gave the string back and walked out of the store because I felt humiliated by the way I was treated in front of others. I later called the store manager, Brent, and explained the situation. Brent handled the matter professionally and apologized for the disrespectful behavior shown toward me, which I appreciated. However, I am deeply disappointed by how I was treated by Gareth, Cara, and Mark Thomas. No customer should be spoken to or accused in such a disrespectful manner over something so minor. I hope HOME DEPOT CORPORATE OFFICE takes this matter seriously and provides proper customer service training to these employees, and they should RID of these UNPROFESSIONAL employees ASAP read more

She took the time to explain the important benefits that come with ProX membership for contractors or regular project builders. This woman was so knowledgeable and helpful, beyond normal expectations, that I thought she must be management. I was shocked when I found out she was not. I remember Home Depot entering the building materials and hardware retail space in the 1980s with HD's claim to fame that each aisle had an expert or pro stationed there to assist customers by having an actual electrician working the electrical supply aisles and a real plumber working the plumbing material aisles, in order to complete with local iconic hardware and general mercantile stores and the local lumber yards that greeted every customer and wrote up their lumber order or walked with them to find the exact part needed, but that changed over the decades like has everything although that same level of service can still be found in some big box, Ace Hardware, or local mom and pop store, depending on staffing levels and except when the electrician or plumber has days off. Even before online ordering was real popular thing fifteen years ago, Home Depot created an experience for tradesmen, builders, hobbyists, homeowners, and weekend warriors where they could see many different choices for the same type of drills, saws, mowers, fertilizer, and pretty much anything needed to do a repair or new project. Home Depot really changed the entire retail space for home improvements and building projects that was available by just walking into the store. Big Box Building Materials, Home Goods, and Grocery Stores have been conditioning customers for two decades with the introduction of self-checkouts and recently Walmart and Home Depot have converted much of remaining checkouts to 100% self-checkouts, so obviously both Walmart and Home Depot are committed to this change. Walmart has a few self-checkouts with conveyor space for multiple items that are often needed by shoppers, but Home Depot's newer self-checkouts last couple of years have little space to set items for checkout and this is a problem as many HD shoppers don't use shopping cards and carry multiple items in hand, so there's no way to easily check out. The lastest iteration of assisted self-checkouts are even less functional and lack the space between kiosks and in front of each checkout kiosk for assistance by HD employees without close contact. Awkward and non-functional for both customers and employees to interact at same kiosk. Another issue is that HD shoppers often require assistance for building materials or plumbing items that must be my measured or other items like bolts and screws without SKUs that must be looked up and verified by photos, so it seems to be a flaw that there's not different checkout options for shoppers with entirely different needs. Home Depots states that they have assisted checkouts, not self-checkouts but I dislike the aggravation of employees trying to take over self-checkouts from customers not asking for help, as usually some employees just run through checkout screens and don't bother to ask preference before hitting buttons to complete transactions. My favorite is that they usually bypass option to email/print receipt versus print receipt only and only react after they see the frustration on your face. HD has never had six open checkouts even counting the Pro Desk, so why have six employees trying to herd cats with assisted self-checkouts versus the effectiveness and speed that six full-service checkouts would have. Home Depot's biggest mistake is in not educating customers on how HD envisions or wants the new system to work as assisted checkouts, so why not go have all the employees standing around telling customers waiting for the six open checkouts out of ten how assisted checkout is supposed to work versus saying nothing. Also, on Saturdays and every day when parking lot is full of vehicles, why doesn't HD just open up all ten assisted self-checkouts versus only six? I asked one of the six HD employees standing around waiting and they said they only open six because they are short staffed. Go figure! Not certain where we go from here after the innovation and transition created and continuing after COVID-19 and staffing challenges, but customer service and a shopping experience necessary to create more frequent shopping and brand loyalty. #homedepot #selfcheckout #customerservice read more

Im not surprised to see others have rated it low. Yesterday after a long day of work, i had to pick up something in Georgetown. It's over an hour away. I decided to combine errands stopping at Costco and home depot too. I spent well over an hour in store because the lumber selection was terrible, the paint department had only one worker. Upon checkout in lumber the cashier asked if I wanted the small items baged? I said sure. Today when I got to job, I couldn't find the bag with 2 critical items. Saw blades and pneumatic nailer gas. Completely derailed day. I made 2 calls to store. The first was to confirm it was left at cashier. I was told if it was, their company policy was to put back on shelves!!!!! These items totalled $122.66 of my $410.19 purchase. I have both a pro account and personal. After the first cashier didn't call me back, I spoke with assistant Mgr. Who said they were contacting their off site loss prevention for video. I did not hear back, nor did anyone seem to get that what I needed was action, not information. I will never go to this location again. I believe it was a planned inside job. He didn't put 2 of the small inexpensive items in the bag,which was what confused me when I was looking for items. I'm updating my review and I'm going to reveal that when it comes to light bulbs I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. I went in to find some light bulbs that are dimmer compatible. I've found that regular light bulbs burn out quickly on a dimmer. I'm looking at a 10 foot high wall of LED bulbs and other types of bulbs. I found dimmable LED bulbs but, still, the light hadn't gone off in my head that this was the right bulb. And then, David arrived. He had a tag on that showed he had been with The Depot for decades. He asked if I had a light switch installed for dimmable LED bulbs. I said no. He said, "Well, then you'll want the Edisons," as he pointed to the shin-high shelf I hadn't seen. He explained that if you use a regular dimmer on LED bulbs you won't get any performance from the bulbs. Of course, it didn't help that there was only a 1 X 1 sq foot area with regular, old 'Edison" bulbs, but David saved me a lot of money and time. And they did, indeed, have dimmable old school bulbs. As I said in my last review, when I visit Home Depot I don't need someone to hold my hand when I walk in the door. I just need someone nearby when I need them. I'm writing in regard to the windows and screens I purchased in 2017 that have a 10 year warranty. Half of my windows failed inside of 2 years. My husband had a stroke prior to installation an I became his caregiver 24/7 for 7.5 years. I finally got around to complaining 2 years ago and it has taken that long to get two screens and a missing crank replaced. I picked them up yesterday and tried installing them, but since their design now has cheap little clips instead of the spring-loaded ones on the original screens they do not lock in place. Although the size is correct, they do not hold, so essentially spiders, flies and mosquitos can easily come in so I can't open the windows as they were designed to do. They are worthless. I'm utterly disgusted with the way this issue has been handled and how much it will cost me extra to replace the windows that failed. PlyGen's windows are not worth the initial savings. I'm forced to pay an extra $1500 to replace and install the warrantied failed windows. I am a widow now and my husband's medical bills over the past 8 years have left me financially strapped. This is a big deal for me. I thought I should warn anyone thinking of buying this brand of windows from Home Depot. Save yourself the headaches and money. I was severely disappointed in their delivery and installation or lack there of installing the new dishwasher my parents bought about a month ago. The delivery was ok, but the guys just left it partially shoved in the whole and didn't hook it up or even attempt to secure it. Their excuse was that the plumbing had to be completely redone which was bullshit. When I got there, I saw what was needed and went to their location and bought what was needed to tap the waterline under the kitchen sink. It took me 15 minutes to install a splitter and extension from the hot water line. Then about 10 minutes to hook up power and then secure it. They paid HOME DEPOT for installation and never did they even call back or set up a time to fix. Their delivery and install service Really just pissed me off. read more

I NEVER leave reviews, but the staff at Home Depot On 7/29 in the evening were so incredible I couldn't resist. To start off with Joe the "refrigerator guy" was so knowledgeable and so much fun while my husband was trying to decide on our garage fridge! Secondly our cashier and his trainer were so kind and sweet and the older gentleman made this awesome sign for my son! And he was a vet!!! How cool! There's plenty of places to do home shopping. I'm lucky that the closest most convenient location happens to always be full of the friendliest staff. Today I met Maurice Clark in the door handle section who helped me get me items as we chatted about our love for music. And Edith who helped me check out who taught me how upcs line up with the item number on the receipt as we confirmed our smart lock. It's the little things, when employees take it just the right amount of slow, that makes a place a return destination. This location has it down pact. I can even remember Scott's name from a week ago who helped me in the tools department, and gave me a water bottle from the employee fridge because I was dripping sweat. (Granted he's been helping me for 2 years now and always a pleasure.) Sorry - last name drop. Today, I came to HD & the first thing I noticed was that the Veteran Parking spots have been removed. That is really pathetic that you have decided not to show continued gratitude to those of us that have served & sacrificed for our country. Regardless of that, the reason for my post is that your employee, Vicki, may need to find a job she actually likes. She was directing people to cash out & I let her know that I would just use the self checkout & without a pause, she very rudely replied "well, I really don't care". ***WARNING FOR ALL VETS*** my dad, who is a vietnam veteran, was denied his 10% "veterans" discount on thursday, 05/12/2022. the representative who helped him on this day advised him that due to a new policy, home depot would no longer take a paper DD214-and ID...that he had to have it uploaded on to his smartphone for it to be accepted. no additional offers for assistance were made and it was left at a hard "NO" from this representative. not a, "let's go over to customer service and get this figured out". not "i am sorry, let me ask a manager". it is an embarrassment and extremely disrespectful that a company "offers" a discount and then makes a man who was drafted and fought for his country in a land far away jump through hoops for a 10% discount, that they advertise so freely on their door and website. i called the store to confirm this tonight, i was told that all he had to do was say he doesn't have a smartphone and then the representative hung up on me when i asked more questions. when i called back a different representative advised me that this was a new policy and that this was not the first complaint he has heard since this policy started. he also gave me all the steps to take to get him registered. which i might add, that he IS registered and has never had an issue giving his phone number and showing his ID at any other home depot. but to meet this new policy requirement, i can definitely help him jump these hoops and upload his form on their website, however when he is in the store he will have issues accessing the code on his phone because of the added pressure of being in the moment and still not quite comfortable using his iphone. he has had an iphone for YEARS and still has issues sometimes accessing certain apps. but, old age and not being tech savvy at all might keep him from this offered discount. i can only imagine what WWII vets think about this!!! and there are so many that live in sun city and i am sure they use this home depot. not much bothers my dad but this upset him. and in my opinion it should have never happened. but i am grateful that 10% won't break him. but not all veterans are this lucky. in closing i will say this: we will spend our money at lowe's, where he has NEVER had an issue using his paper DD214 or his phone number. and you bet we will be letting our texas representative, john carter, know what kind of service our vets are getting in this big box store. do better home depot. do better. read more

Husband and I went to the garden center today expecting to buy plants we knew they had we just had some questions. I asked 2 employees standing near the front of the garden center to recommend deer resistant plants that grew about 2 or 3 feet tall. The gentleman of the two asked if I lived in Sun City. I said no. Then he told me to go drive through my neighborhood and see what my neighbors plant and then come back. BTW. He was a mature adult and this can't be his first rodeo. I found a second kind young lady working on plants. She admitted not being the greatest and suggested I talk to her manager for better help on this. She pointed me in the direction of the two I had just asked. People talk badly about Amazon, but I could have ordered my goods online and saved $4.00 in gas at the same time. I order 36 bags of rock from Home Depot. When delivered 1 bag had been damaged while packing /loading. The delivery carrier took photo for verification. When I contacted HP for a small credit for the damaged merchandise they demanded that I gather up the pieces of small rock and bring the broken bag back to the store for replacement. This not only was not possible it was ridiculous and not worth the effort. Very poor customer in my opinion. read more

As a regular business customer and credit card member I stopped by for some supplies, but with arms full there were no checkers at the registers. An older woman with an orange vest/apron said there were no checkers so use the self check-out. I told her that I did not work for Home Depot and would not check myself out!!! After her blank stare we put down the supplies and left the store. We bought our supplies at a different location several miles away . . . . where the cashier rang up our items for purchase.
