We called for our annual service a little early this year. They said it was no trouble at all and got a tech out here in a couple of days. I was very glad to see Cutter again when he showed up. He did our tuneup last time. Just like previously, he told us what he was going to do and that afterwards he would give us a summary of what he found. He didn't take any shortcuts while going over our unit, and at the end he gave me a complete rundown of how everything looked. Very impressed by Brandon, the Keith Air Conditioning technician who came to my house in June 12, 2025. He quickly diagnosed the problem with my air conditioning system. He was knowledgeable, personable, kind, and a person of integrity. When I decided to buy a new HVAC system, he presented the pros and cons involved and helped me make a good decision. He gave me his phone number on his business card, and later, when there was a problem, he was at my house within an hour. Again, he quickly diagnosed the problem, and he demonstrated extraordinary patience and skill during the repair, working until after 10:00 at night after a full day's work. We've used Keith Air Conditioning for years - have a maintenance contract on both our units - and we love them! The staff folks in the office are friendly and knowledgeable and the repair men are dependable and really know what they are doing. We just experienced the historic Snow event in Mobile, Alabama and had to call them because of an issue with our heat pump. Matt Evans was our repair man and he quickly determined the problem - alerted the office to order replacement parts - and was back down to get us up and running and WARM today - same day turnaround! Several years ago I signed up for a yearly maintenance agreement, and they were always good to contact us and honor the agreement. They sent friendly, helpful techs to look over everything. This year our A/C finally went kaput after 19 years. I contacted Keith A/C and they made replacements easy. No upselling, no unnecessary costs. Today they came to install the interior and exterior units, and it was a tight fit in the hallway. They didn't complain- they just solved the issues one at a time and made it work. Outside fan motor was going out. I received a price to repair it. I wanted to know what they were charging me for the motor (parts) and labor. I looked online to see what OEM motors cost ($223) and was curious what they were charging me for the motor. Being that they are a large company and buy repeatedly from their supply warehouses, they should pay less than me, I'm sure. I called two days in a row asking for the office manager to call me with a price breakdown. Day three final got her on the phone. I explained I wanted a price breakdown of the work they were going to do and what was the price of the motor, capacitor and labor, But mainly the motor. I told the office manager, I had looked online at OEM motors and they cost about $225, what were they charging me for the motor? I was curious. I mean I am the one paying the bill. I was told by the office manager (female) it was none of my business. She said they charge a flat rate price for the work and I would NOT be getting a breakdown of costs. The repair technician was at my house for a total of 20 minutes to make the repair and I was charged $652. This company has serviced my heating and cooling system for the last three years. You would think they will be a little bit more forthcoming. The technician that was here performing the work said, a lot of the local air-conditioning companies are doing the same thing. Not giving customers price breakdowns, just giving a price to repair. I think the company is probably a good company, they just need to be more forthcoming with their prices. read more
