We have a large, rustic property that has very rough terrain, and we are trying to turn it into our home. We needed to create outdoor living space and correct some significant problems with drainage and elevation. Before we started work with Two Men & A Hoe, we had some ideas of what we wanted to achieve, but we thought everything about our property was either too expensive or impossible. As soon as they started work, they quickly made us realize that nothing was really impossible, and there were many solutions within our budget. From that point onward, they took every idea we had and made it better than what we had even hoped. They solved problems and provided creative ideas to generate options beyond what we thought possible. All the while, they were very mindful of our time and our budget. Since our fist job with them, we have had them out several times as our ideas have grown, and we will probably have them out again for future projects. The end result is this: we are simply overjoyed. Before Two Men & A Hoe, our outdoor space was not usable. His communication was professional and always quick to inform and respond. Always on time. Always clear with expectations and flexible to adjust when surprises were uncovered during demo. He hung new drywall, taped, mudded, and left it with a clean level 5 finish. He also demoed parts of the exterior, installed new sheathing, and put up a vapor barrier--all done properly. As a working contractor myself, I've dealt with plenty of subs. What stood out most with Juan was his follow-through. He stayed on top of things, communicated well, and saw the job through to the end. That kind of dependability is rare and appreciated.

Blue Valor Contracting placed at least one of its customers in a terrible financial situation. Do not let this happen to you! This is not a review about some relatively small thing, like the quality of a meal. This is about real and significant financial consequences that have happened to another Blue Valor Contracting client. This review could possibly save you huge amounts of money, time, and headache. Blue Valor Contracting's owner, James Johnson, called my small business in desperation to do a wall papering job for one of HIS clients. We made 2 trips to his client's condo to complete the job. When James needed us, he was quick to take our phone calls. Once we completed the job and tried contacting him for payment, James has been on the run. We never received payment for the job we did for him, and James will not return our calls and text messages. Our only recourse is to place a mechanic's lien on his client's home. THIS COULD BE YOUR HOME! In response to the lien notice, I discovered Blue Valor accepted payment from his client, then failed to finish the job. The work he did do was questionable. And, he did not pay OTHER subcontractors. This information led me to dive further into research on the business, and it appears Blue Valor Contracting's registration status with the State of Texas is inactive. Blue Valor Contracting advertises "Quality with Integrity." Judge for yourself if placing his clients' homes at risk of mechanic's liens is operating with integrity.
