Friendly staff and on time appointments. We received a good cleaning and exam without the usual attempts to upsell additional services.

I really like this dentist, because I feel listened to and the dentist is really smart. I had no idea I was a clencher. I mentioned a concern with a crown and gum recession. I asked if it was a bad quality crown, because the metal was showing under the porcelain. He explained not entirely the case. He said that part of the reason for gum recession on a back molar was because I was clenching. The process of clenching creates a wobble motion on your tooth and makes gums recede. This is my analogy: think of a post in the ground. You push and pull it back and forth and the dirt recedes. My last dentist just said it was because the gums don't like the material and recede. Long story short, he recommended a mouth guard for almost a year now and the pockets of recession continue to improve. 4s became 3s. 3s became 2s. Sometimes my dentist can run behind, but if you need to get somewhere and you tell them, they will do everything they can to get you out on time. This was the case last year when I had to run for kindergarten lunch with my child at his school. Honestly I would rather he take the time to educate and make me a bit late than just treat me as business as usual or a check box. My previous dentist was time efficient but never offered the same level of care. The previous dentist at a different practice just wanted to do the cleaning and send me on my way. My overall dental health has greatly improved here. There is data to prove it. Highly recommend. read more

The office and dentists are great, but I stopped coming here with my daughter because the dental hygienist; Natalie; is so rough and painful. She will scold you with every visit and my daughter leaves crying with cuts on her gums. On time I have cuts and sores on my gums that lasted over 3 wks. My husband and son still come and take the pain, but I am going to complain. read more

I stopped going here because of the hack job which was done to my teeth. The dentist was horrible and has ruined my teeth. I have been in pain since the whole replacement of my front six teeth began. The dentist had me sit in the chair with my head almost touching the floor, twice for almost 3 hours (once for my temps and once for my permanents). The hygienist even questioned if I would fall out of the chair and his response was I would not but "He" needed to be comfortable. Before the whole process started, this office said the gums on my front teeth were 0s and 1s but after my perms were put on, the dentist said my gums were horrible and that's why they bled so bad. The dentist has caused so many problems to my teeth that I have filed a complaint with the Texas Board of Dentistry. I will now have to spend $35k to have my teeth replaced and to fix my bite. I cannot stress the damage this office has done to my teeth. My teeth are blue (not really, my current dentist who is excellent says they are black) because underneath the perms on what is left of my teeth (Dr. Whitmore shaved off too much of my teeth), is fungus and bacteria because the teeth were not bonded correct. He blames the excessive bleeding for the bad bonding but he caused the bleeding by putting on the temps wrong and then ripping them off because to strong of glue was used (a disagreement him and the hygienist got into in front of me). I will say some of the front office people are nice but that is where it ends. read more

I thought I had found a good dental office but as I sit here waiting for the second time to get my temporary crown to be put back in I wonder if I made a bad choice. I appreciate they accommodate my schedule and asked me to be here at 7:30. I called in and I have been stirring here waiting. I called 45 minutes to check in and I'm told it wasn't noted. In 7 minutes it will be an hour and I will still have a missing temporary crown and no apologies. read more

I came here on a Groupon for cleaning, x rays, and teeth whitening. Trying to look for a new dentist so decided to try them out. Appointment was at 9am, due to traffic I was a little late, arrived 9:10am. Was in the middle of paper work when I got called in. X rays first, had a little difficulty when one of the x rays (the 4 photo one when you bite down on an object that's in your mouth).... They didn't have a kids one, only adults one and my mouth is kinda small. I felt the hygienist was a little impatient and in a rush. We didn't have time to do the cleaning. She ask me to come back at 11am because she had a client at 10am. My last dentist even if I was there on time and their finishing a client before me, I wouldn't want them to rush with that patient, I'd rather wait so they wouldn't do the same to me. Came back at 11am. Started the cleaning. The hygienist was a bit rough cleaning my teeth, I know I don't have the most perfect teeth but never felt this much pain while getting a cleaning. This place does try to up sell. Asking me to join their discount dental plan. The staff is very nice but I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

My daughter and I have been coming here for a while. It's our preferred family dentist since we moved to Keller. The front staff are always courteous to us. They are easy to schedule with and have very pleasant attitudes. I like that. I always come out of there with fabulously clean teeth! The hygienist I had today in particular, Natty, was very friendly and patient with me even though I'm sure my mouth was a mess due to skipped cleanings (I skipped my last two cleanings due to a death in the family). She used the water thing, which I love as it cleans better and hurts much less than the metal tool. I LOVE my smooth teeth! Dr Myser is very personable and helpful. I'm very happy with his beside manner, and am pleased he took the time to chat for a few minutes with me about my dental needs when I go overseas. I feel the practice just keeps getting better and better as they grow. read more

If you like your money do not go to the dental practice. I paid for a Night guard it did not fit right. They told me after Covid they would correct the problem. Go to get the problem corrected and they told me I had taken the night guard home, which I did not and they would not redo the night guard. $350 wasted!!!! Been going to the Dentist for three years and I am disgusted by their lack Of regard for their patients and them lying. Stay away from this horrible dentist. The best Dentist I have ever been to. She took many x-rays to make sure what was wrong and gave me real options to choose from. Other dentists never offer options, they just tell you that you MUST or NEED the most expensive option. She also massaged my jaws because they were clicking after filling a cavity. read more

I came to this dentist with a groupon, and was nervous since I've had very bad experience before at different clinic. I was very surprised with how friendly and welcoming the staff is here. Dr.Patel and the nurses are wonderful. They really took their time to explain everything happening before getting started and gave me a breakdown of my treatment plan. I used this office for a cleaning and had three minor cavities filled here; I visited this office twice in 2015. I will never go back. I have two main complaints with this office: 1) Dr. Bishop used many more numbing shots than was necessary. They told me repeatedly that it would wear off an hour after my filling apt, but the whole lower half of my face was drooling numb for over three hours after I left the office. Also, he broke a blood vessel in my jaw while giving me so many shots causing significant jaw pain over 5 weeks. For minor cavity filings this was totally necessary. 2) The second reason I will never go back to this office is they repeatedly tried to double charge me for services that were 100% covered by my insurance. I even brought in the paperwork with the codes saying that fillings were covered 100% and the office staff just kept saying they'll look over it again. Did that stop them from sending me an invoice four months later saying I still owed them over $300? Of course not! I had to refute their charges for the third time (twice at the office and once over the phone) telling them I had contacted my insurance myself so I knew it was already paid for. After that they finally admitted that my insurance had covered everything. Anyone not totally clear and educated concerning their insurance benefits will totally be taken advantage of by this office. I had to insist three times that my insurance covered my services before they finally stopped telling me I owed them money. read more

To start I tried for months after purchasing a Groupon to get an appointment for my wife and I. Finally they scheduled me an appointment , But called me back and had to change even that appointment because apparently they scheduled me on a day they weren't open. (First red flag) So they scheduled me for the soonest available appointment, almost 3 months after purchasing the Groupon. The appointment was scheduled for 6:25 AM. I showed up for the appointment at 6:20am, five minutes early, and the front door was locked and the lights were on. At 6:40 they turned the lights on and unlocked the front door. (Red flag number 2) (why schedule me for 6:25 in the morning if they weren't even going to be there). Once I got in I was seen quickly for x-rays and the check up. Was quickly told that I would need a deep cleaning, and a filling, my total cost was going to be about $650 after the discount they were giving me for cash pay since I don't have dental insurance. They said they could not give me the at home whitening kit or the regular cleaning ( which were included in the Groupon I purchased) without first paying for the other services at about $650. At this point they still have no appointment available for my wife so I asked for a refund just for her unused services, even though they didn't complete even half of the services that I had paid for mine. They said I would have to go to Groupon for the refund. I explained that Groupon doesn't offer a refund after the services have been used, and they had reported it used two months before, (I can only assume so they could get paid). When I told them that, they said they never do that unless the Groupon was about to expire. I had only purchased the Groupon one month before they reported it used, and it was good for one year, so nowhere near expiring. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with how friendly the office staff was and how informative and helpful they were during my exam and cleaning! I also liked that I was given option on things I need to do (cavities to be filled) but wasn't pushed or given a sales pitch like other places I have been to. Definitely will be back! read more

I know I shouldn't even try to complain when I am the idiot that purchased a Groupon for a dentist! But I did and I learned my lesson. Dental insurance is very expensive and doesn't usually cover much so I decided to not carry it, and to try to save money by purchasing a Groupon. The Groupon included cleaning, x-rays, and teeth whitening kit. The cleaning was ok, my teeth did get cleaned but it was very painful and the hygienist was too forceful. The teeth whitening kit was also ok, the bottom mold didn't fit exactly and you only get two tubes; when I went to pick it up they just handed it to me without explaining how or how often to use it. But now to the worse part, I had to wait about 30 minutes after my cleaning to be seen by the dentist for less than 30 seconds. He came in without introducing himself, sat down looked at my xray said I had 4 cavities and that they would schedule it up front and left. Doubting that I had 4 cavities and not trusting this dentist I went to my mother's dentist, who laughed at the x-rays and said with that kind of quality xray machine I'm sure he makes a ton of money. I did not have any cavities and was asked by my mom's dentist to not return to Keller Family Dental. read more

I wasn't going to write this until I was contacted by Keller Family Dental for the third time since asking them not to contact me. I went because I had a Groupon and they were close by. The hygienist was extremely rough and chose to scrape my teeth manually instead of using the water pik. I am hereditarily prone to heavy plaque buildup so this was extremely painful. I finally asked her why she wasn't using the water pik (which is virtually pain-free) and she said, "It's just so messy." She finally agreed to use it when I refused to continue without it but she was clearly unhappy. After she finished the cleaning and after waiting awhile, the dentist finally came in to examine me. He barely looked at my teeth and didn't even mention that I need my wisdom teeth out. Instead, he was solely focused on trying to sell me Invisalign. My teeth are barely crooked and the price they quoted me was thousands more than I've ever been quoted before. I emailed the office after my appointment to detail why I was unhappy with my experience and that I would not be back. I recently received an email and a text asking me to schedule another appointment. I wrote back and again told them that I would not be coming back due to a bad experience. Then a couple of days ago I received a phone call asking again to schedule an appointment. I told the girl that I had emailed multiple times asking to be removed from their list and she said, "Oh, I don't check the emails." They have never apologized for my experience but they want me to spend more money there. Steer clear of Keller Family Dental! read more

I have been here three times now and going back next week for more work. The staff is very friendly, though I did have one issue the office manager called me and we got it resolved.A few days of frustration, but no harm done. Some previous reviews mention the dental hygienist being rough during cleanings, mine was amazing and even took care not to hurt a broken tooth I have not had taken care of yet. Both dentists that did my work were thorough and very nice. I'm really nervous getting dental work done and they definitely help me keep calm. read more

Great experience for several years until they updated their discount plan, which practically tripled their pricing. Went from approximately 250 per year for four cleanings and two sets of x rays to nearly 1000 per year. We never saw any announcement of the change and I'm not sure of one was ever sent out. If you want to pay over $160 for a cleaning, this is the place for you. read more

Great experience! I am a complete chicken when it comes to my teeth. The staff and dentist were extremely gentle, I didn't feel a thing! Had an abscessed tooth extracted with zero pain as of 12 hours later. Called at 8:30 am and they had me in a chair by 9:00 am. I will definitely be going back!! read more

I will start by saying I dislike the dentist very much to start with, but this was by far the worst experience I've ever had! I would not let them touch your mouth! I had to have a root canal and two crowns put in. They could not get me numb during the root canal and stopped mid way through and have me some pain mess and I had to make another appointment to come back and finish. Finally after everything was done and I had the new crowns on, it was hurting and uncomfortable. I went back 3 different times and they checked the bite and adjusted it. Then the third time told me that it looked as though the tooth under the crown was cracked. I'm assuming it cracked during all the drilling. The referred me to a specialist and wished me on my way. Now less than a year later both crowns are irritated and painful. Terrible experience and I will never go back! read more

Had a bad toothache since Saturday, called them to make an appointment as they were at the top of my insurance list, in order of closest to my home address, so I decided to call them first to see if they could get me in on same day, and they did! They set my appointment up for 10am, I called at 830am and was able to get a 10am appointment. I got there, did my paperwork and no sooner had I finished my paperwork I was called back by "Kaysee". The front staff was very pleasant, nice and friendly. Kaysee was very respectful and professional. I was rather surprised to be treated so promptly and nicely. The last dentist I saw in Sept 2015, I waited for nearly 45 minutes to be seen, the staff barely greeted me, so to have everyone greeting me the minute I walked in, was really nice. Kaysee took xrays and explained the entire process to me beforehand. When we finished the xrays, she said the Dentist would be in soon, I expected I'd be waiting for awhile, but nope, within minutes the dentist came in to see me. He introduced himself, explained the xrays and then looked at my teeth. After further evaluation, he explained and gave me options. He said he'd prescribe meds to make me comfortable in the mean time. Made a follow-up appointment and left, in less than 45 minutes, I was in and out! Record time! Kudos to Keller Family Dental staff! Great job! You have a new client for now! read more

Moved from out of state last year and hadn't found a dentist until I cracked my tooth over Christmas. Found Keller Family Dental through my insurance and they were amazing, now my families dentist. My son had an appointment today, a regular cleaning, nothing out of the ordinary. For some reason, they didn't look up his information nor did they clarify when he checked in if he had insurance. After the appointment, they charged him as if he didn't have insurance. He told them he didn't have to pay anything last time but figured he would call the insurance company to clarify the discrepancy. It turned out, the front office personnel didn't do their job and failed to indicate his insurance in the computer for his appointment. When I called to question the charge, the lady said we should know what insurance we have and what is covered. She then looked into it deeper and realized they had not annotated his insurance in the computer. I asked to speak to the manager about the situation and I got more rude behavior from her. Both women represent Keller Family Dental and they were some of the rudest people I've dealt with in a long time. Telling me it's our fault when they made the mistake and not make any apology about it. We went in to speak to Dr. Atkinson and they told us he was not available. I guess we made enough noise because he came out to see what the commotion about. I called him over and told him the two women in front of me were why our family would not be going to Keller Family any longer. I explained to him what happened but he acted like he had just stepped into a hornet's nest. Anyway, we were reimbursed, we know of a better dental office and we don't have to worry anymore about rude and incompetent receptionists or dentists that rotate in every six months. The most horrible customer service and experience. Then to see that the only positive reviews on Yelp are from their very own employees. I was scheduled for a root canal this morning. I walked in and told them my name and then two of the receptionist at the front look and point at the screen and then finally get back to me. Unfortunately, they scheduled someone else in my appointment time, because I failed to confirm the appointment. (WELL I dropped my phone and it is not working so that makes if impossible for me to confirm.) This Dental Facility has really gone down since the former owner (Dr. Perry). I have been going to this location for over 15 years and have never been mistreated the way I have the last few times I have been there. I wouldn't even recommend for my dog to get treatment there. Then to top it off they have gone out of their way to refer me to another dentist in Roanoke that doesn't take my insurance. What is really unfortunate, I am sure the dentist isn't even aware of the horrible customer service his office continues to deliver. read more
