There always seems to be something we need from here. As was the case over my Christmas break. It seems that competition would be fierce in Greenville with this many rural focused businesses in one location. Tractor Supply Company offers everything from rural apparel for men, women and kids as well home decor, dog treats, bird feed, Carhart jackets, candy, etc. In the front of the business you'll find trees, a few landscaping items, chicken coops, and kennels. I always enjoy the the fun homesteading and urban living magazines. Parking is easy- which is necessary when you're lugging around fifty pound bags of feed. This place could use a bit of a scrubbing and design improvement to keep up with the competition.

The staff are extremely knowledgeable. This isn't a box store just a good group of people in a small town selling lumber, hardware and supplies. So late summer I started doing the overdue yard-work and maintenance I needed to do. One of the last things I tackled was the river-rock I needed to buy. The area where I have my flowers started getting overgrown by weeds because I had not been replacing the river-rock of the area that slowly erodes over time. I had the weeds removed and now needed to fill the areas. Fall was approaching and I wanted this done before it got too cold. I came by Laymans to get the material I needed. They had all kinds of stone/rock for me to purchase. I had to buy it think 8 buckets of river rock to fill what I needed. I bought them over several trips. The price was reasonable. You need to put down a $3 deposit for the buckets, you get it back when you return, which makes sense. I got my task done in time and can now focus on my next yard task in the fall... leaves... so many leaves I will have to rake/blow... As an aside, I will say Layman's has a huge selection. Come here for whatever you need for the yard. While I was coming, they also had put out tons of pumpkins for fall, huge ones so if you want to decorate for fall, this may be your place. Service is also excellent, the staff is very friendly! Will be coming here in the future!

I am impressed with the selection of tools and hardware. I needed an san angelo bar to excavate and break up concrete, they had one on clearance. Lucky me! TSC does a good job for special orders too. I ordered a Carhartt jacket through them in 2009, and it took less than a week to come in. I don't even remember paying a shipping cost for it. From tools, to farm supplies, to vaccines, TSC carries quite a bit. Thank god this store is nearby. Having been to some other TSCs, this one is on the upside in terms of stock and service.
