Took our puppy Mica in here this morning as he had the trots and was vomiting. They knew just what to do and talked us through what to do. We also received some Rx for Mica to ease his digestive issues. Nice people, knowledgeable, had the answers, took the time. A+ read more

We've been using these guys for years. They are great with kids and they are great with pets. They also kennel the animals so when we need to take a short trip we can know that our critters are gonna have good care. They follow up well, they are caring and capable. Took my 7 month old German Shepherd in for treatment on Saturday after she reopened her wound from her spay on Monday. I called first and was told to bring her in. Upon arrival, we were told they can't help us because our normal vet does not refer to them. On the way out the door the vet slowed us down to express why he couldn't help us. Not the kind of treatment I want for a member of my family anyway. She's now being cared for by MedVet in Dayton. They were very helpful and responsive after losing 30 minutes at Troy Animal Hospital. read more

We took our 2 dogs here for their annual exam and vaccines after moving from Chicago. Over $600 to have two healthy dogs examined and have their booster shots done at 4 years of age. Nothing really great or remarkable about our visit. We had an outstanding vet in Chicago so we tried to have realistic expectations. They didn't have any of the extras we were used to such as automatic nail trimming or treats. So for that visit it would've been a 3 star. Where the 1 star or less comes into play is when we really needed to see "their" vet who had all their I formation to see one of them when she was in pain. Our little dog (12lb) just weeks after having their exam had problems with her dewclaw. It looked swollen, like it was possibly growing into the pad. I called and got Mark on the phone. He was very rude. Apparently, I am not the first customer they have lost partly because of interacting with Mark. When I went to post this I read other reviews and saw at least one other who had a negative experience with Mark. He immediately told me my dog would need anesthesia. I explained I would rather have someone look at her first before making that call. I didn't think it was that serious. Then he preceded in telling me I could bring her in for a nail trim anytime. I again explained that I just needed to schedule someone to look at it. She seemed to be in pain. I requested to have a time where I could call back and speak to someone because I didn't like the way I was being treated. He was very rude. He wouldn't give me an answer and hung up on me. I decided to send an email to avoid dealing with Mark & see when I could get her in to be seen. The response was the earliest they could see her was in 2 weeks or I could drop her off to be seen in between other animals. Basically, they have nothing set up to see your dog if it's sick other than waiting 2 weeks or stressing your already not feeling well dog out by leaving her there alone in a cage to be seen in between other animals. No option to wait with her to be seen in between other dogs. Not even waiting in your car. Needless to say, I called another vet. The first place I called was able to see her the next morning. The dewclaw was indeed growing into her pad. A problem that would've been avoided if Troy Animal Hospital had cut her nails properly when we were there a few weeks earlier. A problem they caused and would make us wait 2 weeks to have fixed. It did need a veterinarian to care for it but no anesthesia and definitely not just a nail trim. I regret choosing to initially establish Troy Animal Hospital as our vet. They caused harm and weren't there for us when we needed them to fix it. I however am glad that out of all of this, we were able to find another vet that is more professional and provides the extra TLC and smiles for our furry loved ones when we go visit. read more

I used to love bringing my dogs here, but last time I was there and I had to call 4 times to let them know I was there for an appointment outside and not many working in the front like usual. Wish they had a better wellness plans too :/ Also, There is one receptionist lady that is SO rude and you can feel her pass judgement when she asks questions about your pet and seems very cold and has no empathy. read more

Hey all of them are extremely nice to me and my dog. My dog Gary loves to go in and see everyone! He especially likes to board there and I don't think he cares if I ever come back or not. hahaha anyway! excellent people really know what they are doing, and during the first of Covid, the main doctor even came out to each car to talk to each of us. If I could give negative stars I would. The staff are so rude and have clearly never been trained in customer service or how to be a kind human, especially Mark and Kathy. They billed me for something I didn't owe months later and when I went in and discussed it with them, the price changed again. It went up. So I decided I would just pay it to to be done with this place. I made a payment last month and I call to make a payment for this month and they say I can never come again because I didn't make a payment since July. They are unprofessional, unorganized and a disgrace to good veterinarians. read more

I have been to this office in extreme emotional circumstances as well. They are kind and gentle in their treatment. I will never take my girls to any other vet !! My Fiona is our BABY. My husband and I moved to Troy in October and haven't needed to see a vet until now (January.) I had been taking my baby to see a vet, where we previously lived, on and off for a year for a swollen toe. They tried a few different things and resorted to telling me they had no idea what to do and to just keep an eye on the toe (which was double it's normal size,) unless it got larger or hot to the touch or was causing pain. It started causing Fiona pain, and (because of the wonderful online reviews) we chose to take her to Troy Animal Hospital. When I called, they were able to get us in within an HOUR. Dr. Sarah H. was amazing! She was so thorough and gave my baby a complete exam, instead of only worrying about the one reason we brought her. They were able to get her into surgery a couple days later. The surgery was amazing and the amputation site looked way better than I expected. The office even called the next day to check on my baby. I was visiting from out of town for a graduation and my dog came down with a case of diarrhea. At 8:30am Saturday I started calling vets, trying to see if anyone would take me sooner rather than later - I was hoping to make it to at least part of the ceremonies. While Troy Animal Hospital didn't have any open appointments they told me they would work me in (unlike the other 2 vets I had called). I am very appreciative. I was able to get some antibiotics, get up to date on her heartworm test/medication, and still make it all the way down to Fairborn in time to see my friend's name called. read more

Troy Animal Hospital is by far one the best vets in the area for people who have pets such as rabbits, rats, other exotics. Vets for these types of pets are hard to find. We found them when doing online search for our sick bunny when our usual vet was not in the office and is part time, so we need find quick place get him in. The vets here are very professional and educated in all types of pets. They are very caring. I would recommend them to anyone with pets. I used to see an exotic vet in Kettering, but he retired. This is the only one I could find, although it is a 45 minute drive to Troy. They are so good with my ferrets. When my ferret had ear mites, they actually let me go see them in the microscope, which I thought was pretty cool. They are very thorough and friendly, the wait is never too long, and the prices are reasonable. The 45 minute drive is totally worth it! read more

Troy Animal Hospital was very easy to make and appointment and get our cat checked out all in the same day. Dr. Peterson was very knowledgeable about cats. Our cat got the shots and meds she needed all in the same visit. We got a written estimate before anything was given and we got to decide which meds we wanted. This was great so there was no surprises at the time for check out. The whole visit took less than an hour. I would recommend this clinic and will bring our other cat there when the time comes. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I left more unhappy with this visit than I ever have from a vet before. We recently moved so I've taken my dogs to a couple places trying to find the right place for my precious pups and kitty. They are my children. And I can say this much-Troy vet hospital and bird clinic is not that place! We had an appointment at 3:15. Well at 3:54 the vet finally came into our room. She was with us for maybe 2 1/2 minutes. Didn't even look inside my dogs ear. (We were there for an ear infection.) She left the room and we never saw her again. From then on I sat in the room we were put in and the only person to talk to me was the receptionist. I had also asked for an allergy pill because my dog breaks out in a rash. Instead of the regular allergy pill I requested, I received something to give her for 2 weeks to get rid of the rash. Nothing to prevent it in the future. The antibiotic I got for the ear that the dr never looked at was a script I had to get filled. I've never been anywhere that didn't have a supply of basic meds. I had a heart worm test done too which we don't get the results from right away. I've also never been anywhere that I've had to wait for results from a regular heart worm test. When we were set to leave I asked for details about having my chihuahua spayed. They wanted $500 to spay my 6 pound dog. I have no problem spending the necessary money on my babies to keep them healthy and happy. But that's pretty extreme! No where else I've checked with has been even close to that. So an hour and a half, $150(including an exam that was never done because she didn't touch my dog), and a very unhappy mom later, we finally got to leave. So if you like your money and your time and want your vet to care about your dog, do not go to Troy vet hospital and bird clinic. read more
