Paying a contractor, an engineer, etc to put in a septic could cost 15-25,000 in anchorage. F()k that! I was off the grid. But wanted a legit septic. Core and main sells schedule 40 plumbing pipe. French drainpipe. Manhole covers... I picked up 10' pipe 90-45 degree fittings Splices , valves, t's, caps and glue. Geo textile fabric to keep dirt from my " French drain" to keep my property dry The best part. I wanted a 20' section of hdpe for a well. Holy Moses. This stuff is like gold in Alaska. It's a thousand dollars plus...and is sold like hot cakes. Road construction sucks it up. I wanted 36 or 48" Hard to acquire sizes. Ferguson..... special order. Another place..... special order. I'm not totally sure who the main customers are here . Subdivision creators? The state? Cities? They were so accommodating to this small ( not to me) customer. Helped me load, smiled , asked questions. Answered questions. I was incredibly surprised this low overhead, outdoor lot , construction focused , PROFESSIONAL, outfit. Held me by the hand and Sold me what I needed...,NOT what I asked for ! My review scratches the surface. They sell From what I can tell. Anything for your business. Where the utility stops.
