Very poor experience with Karen Briscoe. Karen represented a high profile, out-of-town Seller and spent the Seller's money on repairs without checking to see if items were completed (which they were not), wasting the Seller's money, creating a terrible closing experience and placing the Seller in default of the contract. Karen did not offer to make things right (even though she was getting paid on both sides), and took no responsibility. If you are considering Selling or Buying Karen cannot be trusted with your money. read more

Ty Prettyman 1:00 PM (1 minute ago) to me If you are looking for a Real Estate Company to sell your home I would STRONGLY advise you to not choose Keller Williams of Mclean, VA, or The Belt Team, who is associated with them. I would specifically like to mention the following people at Keller who led to our demise. Tom Hanton who was initially our realtor, Terry Belt, who is the CEO of the Belt team, and Ron Cathell who is the lead broker for Keller Williams of Mclean. At first, Tom Hanton was very communicative prior to us signing the agreement to sell our home. Tom checked all the boxes that one would look for in an agent. Boy, were we wrong!! After signing an agreement with Tom he was very difficult to reach, and when he finally did get back to us with an answer to our questions it was typically with a very short text reply. Ultimately, because of Tom's failure to include important details in the contract of our home with the buyers, we ended up with exorbitant legal, and other, expenses, all out of our own pocket. During the process, Keller did remove Tom as our agent and replaced him with Terry Belt who ended up being no help whatsoever. When this became a legal matter Keller completely abandoned us in our efforts to resolve the contractual situation, which they created by lack of attention to detail in the contract with the buyer. Our Contract eventually fell through, and we had to hire a lawyer and compensate the buyers because they threatened a lawsuit against us. So far we have incurred over 35K in legal bills including pay-off money to the buyers. And, of course we also lost time. Our house initially went on the market in March and now it is now almost July. Our attorney worked diligently with the Keller William's attorney hoping to come to some financial relief for us. That did not happen. As a matter of fact, Keller's last words to us as of yesterday was: "We are releasing you from the contract that we have with you to sell your home". They refused to help us and sent us on our way. We received absolutely no consideration, compassion, or compensation from Keller Williams. They hid behind their lawyer and left it to us to pay our lawyer to help resolve the situation. We are now left to sell our vacant home and have been told we must spend more money to stage the house etc. Sellers beware, they do not have your best interests at hand and are to be avoided at all costs. read more

This company is shady and then some. After finally finding a home, We finally got an offer accepted, agreed too, and signed by clients of Audrey Shay. They were hesitant as I am active duty military and didn't understand the terms of a VA loan. After the sellers came to an agreement with the offer terms and signing everything after originally not signing the VA contingency. We solidified our contract with our signature for it to be ratified. Officially being under contract with us, they received an offer that was higher than ours and accepted it. completely breaching our contract as stated by the northern Virginia realtor association. So not only do they not do business in accordance to board standards, they also allow discrimination from their agents against veterans and active duty military members who have earned their right to use a VA loan. read more

We worked with Annie Patterson and we couldn't be happier with our new home. She found us the perfect place. My husband and I had been looking online for months and didn't find anything close to what she did. She found a location that worked for the both of us for work, had a gas stove (my biggest want), a yard, and was move in ready other than some little projects. My wife and I worked with James Andors during our first ever home purchase, and we had a great experience. James works as a team with his father Louis and another agent named Meredith, and they are all great at providing information and support during a process that can be bewildering at times. At the time we worked with them (August-October 2013) they were licensed only in Virginia, and that is probably still the case, but they can refer you to other agents in their office if you're looking to buy in Maryland or D.C. If you're looking strictly in NOVA, however, James is a great agent who really takes a lot of the stress out of finding a new home. read more

If you are looking for a realty company to help you find/sell a house, I would not recommend Keller Williams' McLean, VA office. I worked with one of their realtors in the purchase of my Reston home that went to settlement at the end of June 2018. I made the mistake of hiring a realtor who was also a "friend." Never mix friendship with business is a good motto to follow. Keller Williams' firm located in McLean, VA may not warrant this bad review as a whole, but when you have a realtor that works for your company, that realtor represents the entire company. I went with this particular agent because she also represented me when I found, on my own, a townhouse located in the Ballston area of Arlington in 2009. That purchase went well because she only represented me at the settlement with the builder of this townhouse. She did not find this townhouse for me. This agent did not find the Reston home that I am presently living in either. I found it myself online and she picked up from there. I paid $16,000 over the asking price and I paid cash. I had a home inspection that went badly because my agent and I did not follow the home inspector around every minute during the inspection. I was not very savvy at the time and should have been more aware during the entire process of buying my home in Reston. I depended on my agent - my representative!!! My agent told me several times "do not make a big deal out of minor repairs that need to be done." I could not understand why everything found on the inspection report shouldn't be fixed prior to settlement. I let my agent convince me that I would jeopardize the purchase of this home if I make a fuss over minor repairs. These so called "minor" repairs have thus far cost me several hundred dollars. Not to mention that the inspector found only 4 windows out of 18 windows that needed repair. The broker for KW told me the sellers had 3 of the windows fixed and that he had a repair receipt for this repair. I have yet to see this receipt. In addition, there are about 6 other windows that need repair. It is possible that all of the windows in my home may need replacement. Who considers windows to be "minor" repairs? Between the home inspector and my realtor, I got poor representation and am now having to deal with windows that do NOT open. Aren't windows suppose to open and close? I could not in good faith recommend Keller Williams' office in McLean, VA to anyone buying or selling a home. By the way, this same agent represented me for 3 months trying to sell my Ballston townhouse. In spite of the fact that the market was bad (or so she told me), other agents told me "the Ballston area in Arlington never has a bad market. Ballston is a hot market always!" My Arlington townhouse was beautiful and within walking distance of the Metro. I had to go through an ordeal to get out of my contract with this agent. When I contacted KW with regard to the window problem, I got nowhere with them. The broker basically said I signed off on the final inspection and that was that. My KW agent knew I was concerned about the windows and yet she just skipped over the window issue. The final inspection said the 4 windows that needed repair had been fixed. That's what I signed off on - not knowing at that time that the other 14 windows could not even be OPENED! So buyer beware! Hire an agent that you have checked out thoroughly - whether or not the agent is a friend. I have read other bad reviews about agents at this particular KW office. I ended up selling my Arlington townhouse with Long & Foster within 3 months from the date I hired them. read more

Realtor (Audrey Shay) aggressively promoted her right to serve as sole broker in transaction, despite our attempts contractually to prevent this from happening without our explicit permission. She proceeded (without explicit permission) and appears to have been acting with the prime motive of increasing her profit from the transaction rather than getting our best sale price. Some problems also in things being removed from the house during work which she managed, and illicit use of house. We do not recommend. read more

This review is specifically for Annie Patterson in the McLean Keller Williams office. We have bought and sold seven homes in the past 28 years. I have decades of experience in commercial real estate and have worked with many commercial and residential brokers. We initially listed our home with a "discount" broker and did not get one offer in over 3 months. Granted, we were told by numerous agents working to get our listing that they were certain our home would sell quickly and likely with several offers. We chose a discount broker solely for assistance with paperwork for the "for sure" sale that never happened. This agent delivered only what they said they would, and we have no problem with this. When our listing contract expired, we looked elsewhere for a full service agent and, after interviewing 15 agents, selected Annie Patterson. After listing with Annie, our home had a solid offer for the price we wanted within two weeks, and we closed in a little over a month. Annie came incredibly prepared for our initial interview. She was very familiar with what was on the market, at what price, and what had recently sold in our area, as well as which properties were most comparable to our home. Annie Patterson is by far the best real estate agent with whom I've worked. She exceeded every expectation by leaps and bounds. Annie was the ONLY agent (out of all the agents I interviewed) who delivered what I felt was an honest evaluation of our home's worth as well as what we needed to do to prepare it for sale. Every other agent insisted we should list at over $100K what my own market research indicated. The other agents also either did not think staging was important (empty homes are best? - really?), or offer staging, or suggested we contract with an outside company to stage our home. Annie spent 16 hours helping us stage our home, even bringing in some of her own furniture, artwork, etc. to compliment what we had. She held an open house both weekends before we received an offer - and would have continued holding open houses if needed. This woman put her whole self into selling our home. She is thoroughly professional and extremely knowledgable. She is the very definition of detail.-oriented and has follow-up down to a fine art. She responded to our texts/emails within minutes every time (we didn't expect this - but she does this). I never found her to be pushy, in fact she has an innate sense on when and how to approach people best, which is so critical when handling potential buyers. Her marketing plan was specific to our home and not a "canned" agency pitch. She was there every step of the way and then some. She anticipated what was needed before we even knew it was needed. I've never had that experience with a real estate agent before. It's as if the heavens parted and she landed on earth as far as we are concerned. This review is specifically for Bryan Taylor. At the end of the day, Bryan typifies the worst traits in a realtor - lazy, transactional, short-sighted, money-grubbing. I bought two houses through Bryan and at no time did his efforts exceed opening the doors to houses I found on MLS. On the second house, Bryan made me run to my car to get paper towels to sop up a mess from testing a refrigerator, colluded with his "in-the pocket" home inspector to hide problems with the structure, and failed to follow up post-transaction. After I basically handed him $25k for opening a door , he couldn't even make the effort to contact me, not to mention send the traditional closing gift to a client. I recommended a number of clients to him and they all have stories of him steering them into bad/unwise purchases. He also works with mortgage brokers who exemplify the worst of that profession. This is reviews for Eileen A. the seller agent that we need to deal with , she not play a fair game a when it come down with a cash offer , I feel we get manipulating and unprofessional act , I am first one to put the offer and almost get complete with the ratified contract we back and fort a bit between my agent I got the text from my agent to check email on last Sunday (4/22/18) and she congratulated we get the house I am at work at that time I got email ratified at around 6:30 pm on Sunday( I work on Sunday you know some people don't have option need to work over weekend) I don't have time to check email but I am so happy I get the house which is I love and keep watching over 2 years for this property of course a lot of emotion involve on this point I finished work at 9 pm and back home eat dinner and I open my computer to reviews ratified contract and sent it back to my agent at around 10:30 pm , in the very next day my agent forward email the ratified contract to seller agent at 6 am guess what my agent got contact back from the agent seller at 3 pm and inform our ratified pass the dead line time at 9 pm on Sunday and we not ratified , WHAT????? and we go back to see on the contract it have edit and put on the dead line time that we all miss it and it unclear and it scratch out write above I can not even see clearly date and even that though on professional act who did that I have a little 2.5 hrs to reviews contract as a first time home buyer with 30 pages and no one point out about the dead line time my agent also miss it ( Only Eileen know what she try to doing) and Eileen never mention that either ( some one play unfair game here and shady try to do something that not suppose to treat people this way) end of story I have the ratified contract in hand on Sunday night but I don't get the house , and I heard the other buyer offer on cash for house 600k of course I don't have cash but this is not a point if you going to work this way , well good luck for all I am one of victim. FYI I am put the offer before I even go see the house , house come to the market on Thursday (4/19/18 ) I talk to my agent on that afternoon to put the offer ( because I used to see the condo similar unit last 2 years and it have the same lay out so I make decision to put the offer before even go see the house that how I love this property ) we prepare the document with my lender all afternoon and agent sent the offer in very next day on Friday , they have open house on Saturday and Sunday we try to get the contract before they have open house , we offer almost the asking price we do everything in the right process and we give fast respond we can but look how she do this to me. Do you very think this is very right way ? and right thing to do.Oh well let see what I can do maybe not but I do believe in karma you maybe not see it today but I believe it will come and to all buyer and seller watch out with this agent. read more

The Keller Williams realtor we worked with was not honest. She made repeated contradictory statements. It is possible she was hiding behind white lies trying to do a good job, but without transparency, we lost trust in her. When the sale encountered problems, we couldn't be sure if she was telling us the truth or just trying to push the sale through for her own gain. Would not recommend this firm. read more

I dont know how this place goes about hiring their agents but they REALLY need to reevaluate it. One of their agents, Mazlu Rahman, asked to show the place I currently live with my wife and some roommates at 4 PM. I said that wasnt convenient because we were going to be having dinner guests over and asked if we could reschedule the next day. He responds to this by saying he will show the property regardless. I finally accept and reschedule my plans and say that 4 is fine. 4:45 comes around and he still isn't here. I speak with our property managers, who say its fine if we say no and that we should reschedule. He shows up demanding my wife allow him entry, making racist comments, threatening her, and being EXTREMELY aggressive. I come home to him at the door speaking down to my wife and start explaining to his clients how rude and aggressive he has been. I offer to allow them into the property to take a look around, but i am unwilling to allow this aggressive man into my home. He starts shouting at me saying that i cannot speak to his clients and that he will call the police and have them force us to allow him entry. this is our HOME! he is repeatedly threatening us and being aggressive and i am asking him to leave. His poor clients are standing there aghast of his conduct and a very understanding to our plight. he finally gives up and leaves after 15 minutes of berating us, i offer his clients to reschedule and he says "No, but we will be back with the police" and leaves. I really hope this isn't abiding with the standards of Keller Williams and i SERIOUSLY hope you contact me about this incident. read more
