The services they offer are top notch 2. They represent you; when they say if you buy and sell with us, you get a refund, they mean it! So our goal was to move from Germantown, a big house, to a smaller house. We worked with our agent, and we were able to sell our house (5 days) and get our new house (a little longer, we are picky)! Let's start with our Agent. Colette Releford. We have dogs, and they are very important to us. Colette walked into our house for the first we are going on the market soon to meet; our dogs loved her! 1. She listened to what we wanted 2. She was patient and worked as our sales and purchase representative. 3. Full service? On the day of our closing, Colette drove to our old house and took a load of stuff to the new house. Redfin has been a terrible experience for me. My real estate agent, Patricia Amman in Falls Church, VA, was extremely unhelpful. She often sent trainees to show me houses instead of assisting me herself. I both sold and bought a house through her, but she provided little guidance on preparing my home for sale and often had a dismissive attitude. My ex even chose not to work with her for that reason. When I purchased my current home, she advised me to offer as much as I could without properly investigating the property. She later sent another new agent to complete the inspection after I had already agreed to buy. As a result, I ended up with a 20-year-old HVAC system and water heater -- issues I wasn't made aware of -- and I significantly overpaid for the house. When I posted an honest review about my experience, Redfin blocked me and told me I could no longer use their services. That's fine -- I wouldn't use them again anyway. I lost a lot of money through this process, and I believe Redfin and this agent acted unprofessionally and without integrity. read more

I'll start by saying this: the process of LOOKING for a house with Redfin was great. It's easy to see houses as soon and as often as you'd like given the service model and that agents are always available. I found the agents to be knowledgable, friendly and easily accessible whenever needed. However, that's about where it ends and I would absolutely never recommend anyone purchase a home through Redfin. I can't begin to list the problems that happened once we had an offer accepted on our home, but basic things, like making sure we scheduled a final walkthrough, that seller repairs were completed, forms were in order, etc never happened. The list of major mistakes is also nightmarish and too long to mention. It was my experience that Redfin cares about closing deals and volume, not about seeing through sales or helping clients once offers are accepted. If I could go back in time, I'd erase working with this company entirely from my life. I'd advise you to learn from my mistake and do the same. Run, don't walk, away from Redfin. read more

I'd like to submit complain about Redfin's bad customer service. I didn't have good experience selling and buying a house from Redfin and provided a bad review about my agent. They reached out to me but busy explaining how great job they did and I was wrong. I didn't feel I was heard, and in fact, I didn't even get to talk to the broker. They work as a team and I didn't get enough attention. The agent's attitude wasn't pleasant. I thought it might be her personality. But there was no brochure for the open house to sell. The agent showed me only two houses and other lower level agents showed me houses. As a first time buyer, I asked for special attention for buying a house. I didn't get the attention. The agent sent another person during walk- through in the process of buying a house. The guy just opened the house and was on the phone the whole time. There were bottles of honey left from the seller's agent. All the hoeny bottles were gone when I moved in 3 days afterwards. I bought the house without contingencies so needed expert's opionion and advice. When I gave her a bad review, anther broker from the same office called me and said they won't work with me and block my phone number. Also, I don't know what was the reason, but the agent kept pushing me to use her lender, which caused me lots of stress when I was already under lots of stress. They made great money out of me, selling a big house and buying a house as well. Real estate company is supposed to provide a customer service. read more

In May of 2017, we purchased a condo in DC's Penn Quarter. We were thrilled to have Lucy and Redfin assist us in buying our new home. Lucy Fraser was an incredibly helpful partner in our home buying process. While we chose to do much of the searching ourselves, relying on Redfin and other internet sites for listings, Lucy ensured we could quickly tour newly listed properties and suggested other, highly desirable properties that we might have missed. She also was quick to offer advice and guidance on the process, the buildings and the various vendors we needed to facilitate the purchase and improve our newly-purchased home. She and the rest of the Redfin team worked around our schedule, making viewings convenient to our needs. They arranged a last-minute evening tour of a property in Chinatown so that we could better understand how the neighborhood's noise level would impact the unit. She accompanied us on a rain-soaked weekend to check out multiple units and a roof deck in a sprawling development. One of her associate agents was even able to give us an advance look at another Redfin client's condo the day before an open house. Any agent can submit an offer at or above asking price, but we decided to make an offer below the inflated listing price of one condo, she worked carefully with us to communicate the reasoning behind our offer to the selling agent. When we fell in love with a nicer unit in a different building, Lucy quickly worked to terminate our outstanding offer and move forward with the new place. In doing so, she sought out competitive intelligence and put us in an ideal negotiating position. Success! We were the winning bid! Once our offer was accepted, she and Ali, our Redfin coordinator, worked quickly to ensure the many inspections, contingencies, title, loan and other processes were completed smoothly. The offers and other pre-closing documents were quickly and efficiently sent to us via Docusign, allowing us to update and sign agreements from work or even on our phones. Lucy stayed in touch via email and phone whenever we had questions. As an added bonus, we received a $2,115 Redfin refund, which reduced our closing costs and kept our purchase within budget. read more

In case you haven't heard the pitch for Redfin yet from a buyer's perspective, here goes: 1) Redfin works as a team, so you'll almost always have someone who can show you a property on relatively short notice. 2) Redfin agents are salaried, so they aren't into high pressure sales tactics. This is awesome, because it took me a long while (8 months) to figure out that I needed to adjust my expectations for price ranges and what I wanted. Also, agents get bonuses based on your customer satisfaction, which is a waaay better model than based solely on sales. 3) If you're a data nerd like me, Redfin's website seems much more accurate than Zillow or Trulia on what's available. It's also super user friendly, and you can really narrow down what you're looking for by bedroom size, square footage ranges, price range, zip code and location price range, condo v house v multifamily, etc. This works best if you have a rough idea of what you're looking for. Also, don't forget to sign up for their alerts so when something fulfills your parameters you'll get an email right away. Initially, I got frustrated with the housing search because I would send my agent a Zillow listing for something that I liked that wasn't showing up on the Redfin site and want to go tour it. Most of the time though, that's because the property was already under contract and basically off the market unless the buyer/seller screwed up somehow. Once I started using the Redfin site as my primary search for housing, my housing tours became much easier to schedule. 4) Redfin's site also has a review section, so you can check out lenders (go local!), inspectors, and other folks you'll need for the closing process. 5) Redfin has FREE homebuyer classes, complete with food and beverages. Take one of these. 6) You really need to make sure you click with your agent. My Redfin agent was awesome (see below for specifics), and talked me through some panicked moments during this stressful process. I also say this after emailing a couple of local non-Redfin agents based on friend recommendations. While these folks were nice, they weren't quite as responsive and informative as I was hoping. 7) As mentioned by Joye P and other reviewers, you get half of the commission back, either as as a refund or as applied to closing costs. 'Nuff said. Here's the review I left specifically for my agent on the Redfin site: I highly recommend Mike Alderfer as a buyer's agent. He and the Redfin team patiently led me through seven separate housing tours, through a countless number of properties. Also special thanks to Thomas and Adam for helping me get my feet wet in the housing search process. Mike helped me adjust buying strategies to be more competitive in the fastest moving market in DC, and walked me through the process every step of the way. Although my initial offer wasn't accepted, Mike helped me close on a house that was a better fit and I am ultimately a happy customer. Searching for and closing on a house is challenging, and Mike made the process smooth and doable around my busy schedule. I cannot express how much he helped me get through the process, if only by being a calm voice of reason and making things easy to understand without the high pressure to buy. Wow, Rob Wittman is awesome. I only dealt with Redfin for about a half hour, and did not buy a home, but here's what I have to say. Apartment hunting (for rentals) in the area, I became discouraged and decided to contact a reputable realtor (I researched and contacted Rob) to see if buying a home was a feasible option in my unique circumstance. Within several minutes of sending Rob an online message, he called me and was totally honest and friendly advice. In the end of things, Rob told me why, in my particular circumstances (short duration of stay in the area, type of employment I have, etc) I would be better off renting in the area than buying, even though Rob did not deal with rentals. He went as far as to give me information on how to avoid scams, offered to verify any realtor I may choose to use, gave me rental search tips, and explained my different options. Honest, friendly advice. When it is time for me to purchase a home, I know who I am coming to. read more

I actually saw one place with Patricia, but she was unresponsive and I was ready to walk away from Redfin. Patricia passed me off to Kathleen Cox, and I have nothing but great things to say about her and the Redfin team. Kathleen was super responsive by email. I actually didn't meet her until my walk-through, the day before I closed. Who cares. She knew how to put together a great offer. She had lots of prior experience before joining Redfin. I ended up using her reco for a lender, but not before doing lots of research on my own. I also used her inspector and title company recommendation, and I was happy with them. Benefit to Redfin: it's easy to schedule a tour with an associate agent, who is paid only to tour homes (he/she doesn't write offers) the day it comes on the market. That's key for properties that come on Wednesday and don't make it until Friday. Side note: I was supposed to see homes with one guy originally, and hours before he still hadn't scheduled the tours. Total slacker. I freaked, and Kathleen put me in contact with Jonathan Schuldt, the nicest guy ever. I met with him 2 or 3 more times to tour homes before I got a ratified contract. Bonus: I got some $ back when I closed. It came out to 1% of the commission, I think. read more

I'm writing this as a previous home owner. My old home was simply repainted and is pending contract missing all disclosures of the home's previous water damage. This new owner will be getting a home with nearly $50,000 worth of damage and they will not know till its too late. Buyer beware! I wouldn't work with a company that works with builders that simply coverup and sell. *edit* Just as an update - I ended up meeting the new homeowners after they bought the home, sadly my review above stands - they didn't know what they were buying (it also looks like by the records Redfin acted as their own flippers 2 transactions to hide the foreclosure). The good part - I shared with them the trouble issues I had with the house, but just thought I'd share the confirmation from the new owners that there was never a disclosure of the water damage, impropere electrical grounding and other problems wiith the house. Sellers agent said that is what you get for working with a discount realtor they just don't protect their customers they are about column not protecting the client. I used Redfin as a second time home buyer. Their model completely blows traditional real estate agents out of the water. Imagine this- a system where the agents get better pay if they provide you with better service, not if they have you purchase a more expensive home! That's putting incentives in the correct place for the customer, and the results show. Oh yeah, they split their commission with you too. If you want a real estate experience where your agent comes to your home, drives you around all Sunday looking at new places while sipping glasses of champagne, then this is not the place for you. However, if you're looking to work with a company that provides you with fantastic research tools, cuts through all the b.s. and just focuses on doing what's right for you then I think you've found your place. We worked with Rob Wittman, who was fantastic throughout the entire process. He was always available via phone, text, or email and was extremely responsive. He knew what required my attention, what I cared about, and ensured I was taken care of. Long story short- if you're going to do any online research before you buy a home (and who isn't) then you should work with Redfin. They give you the best tools, help you make a decision, and perform all of the same services that a traditional agent does but at half the price. read more

We shopped for new homes 9 months ago and it never failed that only the homes listed by redfin had terrible agents. They failed to respond to my realtor or offers made. We were part of the housing craze period and saw at least 40 homes. We quickly learned, that As soon as we saw that the agent was a redfin agent, we passed on it as hopeless. The sad thing is that the sellers have no idea that redfin agents don't seem to do anything to get the best for their clients. So what the client saves in commission they lose more in sale price and service. The agents get a salary so they get paid regardless. Just bad, all the way. Btw as a company Redfin is doing very poorly. Look at the business news. Just find a regular well rated realtor, interview them, and make sure that you only sign any contract with a realtor that "gives you as the buyer or seller the 100 % right to cancel working with them immediately after written notification, at anytime for any reason without penalty or cost" you only get one time to sell or buy so don't let agents (Never use redfin) blow it for you or waste precious time you do not have. Stand up for yourselves and get the language added into the contract as an addendum. Btw, zillow will set up very last minute convenient tours for you with agents but you are not obligated to work with these people who open the door to a home. Youve got one shot. Last year when I was looking to sell my home, I called and asked for an agent to come out. I 'picked' one or two whose reviews I had combed through carefully, only to be told they weren't taking new clients--not reflected on the website, which appears to update frequently. A Redfin rep contacted me and set up a mid-week, midday appointment, all that was apparently available. I had to request time off for this. No one showed. I called and complained, and they said they'd send Jim Sandidge the following day--apparently he is or was the regional office director. This time I drove home from work (30 minutes) for the appointment. Jim arrived and was not a friendly man. He seemed like this was a favor he was doing for me. There was no apology for the botched appointment time set for the previous day, nor the inconvenience. He barely looked at the home-- just seemed like he couldn't be bothered. After telling me that my home would only sell for "$280something" I said I disagreed, and asked if he'd compared the comps that were that low to my home and to other, more relevant comps. He just shook his head like "I'm right, you're wrong." He was appallingly rude--really, the rudest agent I met during the entire process. Well, I just sold my home for WELL over that figure, and had three competing offers within 24 hours of listing. I think that if certain Redfin offices or agents are overwhelmed, they should be honest about it and just say they can't handle more listings in that market until X date. Redfin is the listing agent for a home in my neighborhood, and the photos are just embarrassing--it seems to be tenant-occupied, and a featured photo is of boxes piled up in front of the door. The furnishings look like something out of Pee-Wee's Playhouse. read more

I just closed with Redfin, and compared to my last purchase with a traditional agent, I still see a lot of appeal with using Redfin. However, you need to adjust your expectations because their business model differs from the traditional model. With Redfin, your agent writes your offer and advises on your contract contingencies, but other than that, you'll be working with others in the Redfin organization. For example, junior staff/trainees do the actual showings, but I've found them to be pretty knowledgeable and thorough, though don't expect them to be neighborhood experts. Every purchase is assigned a coordinator who I found to be a helpful project manager to ensure that due dates weren't overlooked and that documents were submitted on-time. Again, traditional agents generally do those things themselves, whereas with Redfin, you may be getting the same level of service from different people. If you need a lot of coddling or hand-holding, you may want to work with a traditional agent. If you need help identifying the right neighborhood for you or have no idea what kind of house you want to buy, you may want to work with a traditional agent. It's not that Redfin won't do it, but it will be somebody other than your agent who will be lecturing you on first-time home buying, or taking you to 20 showings. The Redfin agent is there for the contract and the closing. The Redfin agents I worked with were professional, but they usually dress casually and write short emails; if you want to work with somebody in a fancy suit who will write you massive emails, again, a traditional agent might be what you need. Redfin agents are salaried, though they have sales targets, and the idea is that an agent not driven so much by commission will work more in the client's best interests. While I just closed on my dream home, I lost out on other past bids with Redfin. Whether that was because we are in a hyper-competitive market or because my salaried Redfin agent wasn't aggressive enough is something I'll never know, but what I do know is that Redfin did a great job gettng me my dream home and made it a pretty smooth and simple process. Plus, the buyer's commission rebate was awesome to help defray closing costs. That being said, your Redfin experience will be better if you are an informed buyer who has done some research beforehand. It's all about managed expectations. read more

Horrible agents. I first had Brian then Patricia. Both cost me losing bids on the houses because they weren't on top of things. In this market your agents have to be on top of things & be responsive. I couldn't find my agents for hours even when I had told them I'll be calling around that time to submit my offer. They were late returning my calls, and late in contacting the seller's agent to tell them I'll submit an offer. When I confronted Brian why he hadn't submit my offer which was supposed to be submitted the night before he said "no one look at offers at night." ??!!!! Then he just dropped my offer telling me if I'm looking for another agent then he'll "hold" my offer. Of course because of his "hold" while he let his supervisor to sort things out, the house is gone. Unprofessional. My last bid was about 30 min. later than the accpeted offer. All because Patricia was too busy for her clients. Couldn't find her for hours. Then when she finally had the leisure to call me back she told me the seller had ratified a contract the night before & "nothing we could have done anyway", which wasn't true. Another agent called the listing agent & found out the offer had gotten ratified just 30min before Patricia called, not the night before. Very dishonest. That was the last straw & I dropped Refin right away. Find a professional realtor. Redfin in DC/VA area does not have a good team. Their performance is inconsistent & if you're unlucky like me, it'll cost you tens of thousands of $$. I switched to anther agent & got a house on my first bid. read more

OK, I am real estate investor and bought and sold over 45 homes. Not a fan of Realtors per se. I have used Redfin twice to sell my homes. Once in San Diego and once in Dallas. LOVE the simplified service. Top notch presentaion, excellent communication and simply made selling a breeze. Both times I got over asking and highest price per sq. ft in the neighborhood. I'm sure there can be some varying levels of service, but overall the plans and steps are easy. Excellent photography and their web sight is spot on ( I was one of the first to sign on with them) I use it as a tool to find the best priced properties.Excellent communication, follow up. I scheduled an appointment with Kristen Baily to look at a home in Purcellville, Va. I showed up at the time that Kristen and I agreed to see a property. Apparently Linda Cotton of Refin cancelled my appointment and Kristen NEVER notified me. I arrived at the property and no Redfin agent showed up. The agent listed online when I was looking online is who I was locked into who was Linda Cotton. I contacted Corporate office and I shared that no one notified me. I shared I was looking for a foreclosure or a good deal on a home and he said that Redfin isn't that at all and they wouldn't be a good fit for what I am looking for. He said he couldn't help me. Based on our conversation they only do full price home sales and finding that good deal on a home isn't what they specialize in. So this service isn't for negotiating or finding a good deal. These are just people that show homes and do contacts only. Update: After reconsidering a full price home found online I called to look at a full price home and I was declined services by Redfin based on "note" history even as I found a home that I was willing to pay full price. The area manager wouldn't even let me get the words out to share that I would be willing to purchase full price as I really liked a home. Just confused if they are in the house selling business or not. In my opinion this isn't a reliable service to use to purchase our next home. **note to area manager- please stop calling my house. I used Redfin as a first-time home buyer, per the recommendation of a friend who had recently bought a home through them. As you probably know if you're looking at buying a home through Redfin NoVA, buying a home in this area is not something to take lightly. I started by searching their website for houses with the set up I was looking for in terms of the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc., location, price, etc. When we found one we liked, we simply scheduled the tour online, and a Redfin agent met us there to show us the home - very low pressure, which I appreciated. We ended up finding a home we loved, and Rob Wittman, our agent, started working with us on making our offer as soon as we mentioned we were interested in doing so, and it was submitted shortly thereafter. It was accepted, and we went on to complete the deal. We now have a home, and are so grateful and appreciative of all Rob and Redfin's help for making it possible. Three quick reasons of why I will be using Redfin again: 1) The Staff: Our home was a very unique buying situation that went on for five months (at absolutely no fault of Rob and the RedFin team, who made this somewhat "challenging" situation low stress for us). Rob and the Redfin team were always quick to respond (at all hours of the day and through many methods (phone, email, text)) during that entire five month period. They answered all of our many questions and were very knowledgeable on everything from the deal to the inspection, and from bargaining to basic home repairs. Rob was very honest, transparent, and candid, something I truly appreciated, and we always felt as if he was looking out for our interests rather than pushing a deal through that would leave us less than 100% satisfied. In addition, Rob helped get us some credits at closing that we didn't think were even possible. With all the time Rob put into helping us, I'm not sure how he worked with other clients, but from the other reviews on here he did, and he did it just as well - truly exceptional. I could go on and on about how fabulous Rob and the Redfin staff are (which is truly the number one thing that sets Redfin apart from the rest), but on to more of the benefits: 2) Wired-In: Working 9 to 5 and commuting an hour on each end makes it difficult to find time to meet with a realtor in person. So being a product of the "wired-in" generation, I prefer to do everything by computer - it saves me time. Redfin lets me do this. Over the course of the next decade,I'd imagine the company will grow substantially because of these capabilities. They have an online tracking system (Deal Room), which allows you to see what you need to do, your deadlines, what deadlines the realtor has completed, etc. In addition, most of my communications with Redfin were by email and cellphone. They aren't just a 9-5 company and staff. They were flexible to meet their customer's needs, which I feel many companies are failing to do these days. 3) Split Commission - Redfin gives a portion of their commission back to you. Not really why we went with them, but definitely an added bonus that should be mentioned. I really cannot say enough great things about Rob and Redfin. I highly recommend them! read more

I was unable to make an offer on a house because of Redfin's lack of response and miscommunication. In a hot housing market, it isn't worth it to not get the house you or even the chance to make an offer, just because they cannot get their act together. I'd like to point out as well, that this problem didn't just keep me from making an offer, it also hurt the seller since the seller never knew there was another offer because of Redfin's mistake. I found Bryan to be rude and unprofessional. When I was finally able to contact him, his reaction was "so what" . Edited to provide an update: I have been in contact with Redfin. They insist that these were unusual circumstances and that they do not normally treat people the way I was treated. However, the market manager called me and at the end of the conversation he said that the team leader would be "reaching out" to me either that evening or certainly the next morning. He and his team guided me through the whole process and made it as easy as can be. Rob was always available by phone or email, easy to talk to, candid and never pushy on making me close the deal. He helped me negotiate a price below list, and when things were uncovered during the home inspection he made sure to find out if I still wanted to move ahead rather then just being pushy. I am new to the whole home buying atmosphere so I had no idea how much it would cost to repair the issues that were found during home inspection. Rob could have tried to make a quick sale and told me, it wont cost much. But he estimated the costs to be over 15k and wrote up a non conventional contract to appease my concerns. The seller didn't oblige but I was able to walk away from the problem house. Anyone who needs to buy a house in VA Rob is your guy you, won't be disappointed. And in general Redfin is a great company to work with if your a new homebuyer or a repeat buyer the Redfin rebate certainly helps as well. They let you apply the rebate to closing or they can cut you a check after closing. For me the rebate woudl have been over 7k had I pulled the trigger after the home inspection. read more

Customer service is outrageously rude and incompetent. The app is misleading. I used Redfin two years ago and was told I had to be assigned to an agent but could cancel the agreement at anytime, which I did. Recently I started looking at properties again, in a different state, and tried to book a home tour but was not able to because I was still assigned to the same agent (from a different state). I called the Redfin customer service but it said no one was available on the weekend. So I asked my friend to get the app and book a home tour. He explicitly told me that he was given the option to work with an agent and selected no. Today I received a call from a very rude customer rep who continued to interrupt me. When I told her that my friend chose the option to NOT work with an agent, she said condescendingly "well he is assigned to an agent, that's how it works." When I tried to tell her that the app is misleading, she couldn't care less. So I told her just cancel my account. She said she would cancel both our accounts. I said I was concerned me that Redfin would allow anyone make changes to someone else's account without their permission. She said, "well didn't you tell me he doesn't want to be assigned? Ok I won't change his account then." So I said I won't be doing business with Redfin anymore because of the confusing and misleading business model. She smirked and said "That's fine!" Unbelievable. Confirmed again that proof of funds were NOT required, confirmed that I was pre-approved for CONVENTIONAL financing, and my offer was immediately accepted. Expecting to close soon. It is unfortunate that Redfin was not able to assist me with this deal. I would recommend them in general. Each agent is different, whether working for Redfin or other, as we are human with different personalities and flaws. We just weren't compatible. If you are in South Florida and use Redfin, I hope you get to work with Sunil. He is excellent! Work with your agent upfront and discuss expectations. Also meet in person to maybe build trust. Unfortunately, Daiania was the only agent I met in person. Perhaps that was the issue with Kelly. She had no clue who I was and probably thought I was not serious, maybe not. Who knows. I didn't work with this location directly; however one of their agents showed a property I'm currently living in. Their agent was approved to show my home early in the morning, and when I came home four hours later, the agent left almost every single light on in my house, closet doors open, and my curtains wide open. Be respectful for peoples homes and leave them the way you found them. read more

As a first time home buyer the process was definitely daunting at times. Steve Popovitch was an amazing agent to work with. Any question (big or small) I had he was quick to answer. He was helpful throughout the process, especially when it seemed like the contract would fall apart for reasons out of anyone's control. I interviewed four real estate agents to sell my home. I chose Redfin and was told by the full service realtors that I would be disappointed with my decision. I wasn't! The house sold in three weeks at the price I wanted. We had 20 people come through looking at the property. I SAVED $17,000 in commissions since Redfin only charged a 1% commission and 2-1/2% buyers commission. Redfin did a full virtual filming of my house and took numerous photos. There are many overused words in today's culture. Awesome is perhaps the best example. However, our experience working with Rob Wittman and the entire Redfin team completely awesome! My husband and I worked with the Redfin team for about 3 months, and 2 accepted offers. The first offer was accepted but was eventually nulled due to the complete insanity of the seller. Throughout that whole process Rob and the Redfin staff were so supportive, and encouraging. This helped my husband and I make a smart financial decision and to not give into a seller who was still living in 2006. Rob and Redfin were always encouraging, and incredibly low pressure, which had not been our experience with agents in the past. They always encouraged us to keep looking, trust our instincts and that we would find "our" home. And we did! We closed today! Because our purchase was a For Sale By Owner our Redfin rebate was substantially less than a typical sale. Regardless, if it had been $0 we would have used the same people. They were just that good. We used Refin for buying our home. Stevie Tibbs was our agent and he was just awesome! We have been looking for our forever home for over 2 years with Stevie. He has been patient all along the way and is always fast to respond to emails, calls, questions and recommendations! In fact we had to use a different agent (non Redfin) for selling our home and we quickly realized what a valuable resource Stevie is... he was always the first to respond if we sent both agents an email. He puts his clients first. He cares... he would always ask our kids how they are doing and ended every meeting with a "high-five." Hopefully we won't be back looking for a home any time soon, but I can assure you if we are or if we know anyone who is looking we will be HIGHLY RECOMMENDING STEVIE TIBBS and Redfin! read more

I wholeheartedly recommend Redfin . It BOGGLES MY MIND how anyone would still use a traditional realtor if you're in this company's service area. Great results, huge discount, awesome people, superior service throughout. Results speak for themselves: Redfin sold my house in Columbia, MD in 4 days with multiple offers and for over asking price. Then they helped me buy a house within a week for $30K under asking price. Between the selling discount and the purchase rebate, I saved over $11K in commissions. $11K! It still seems too good to be true even though I just experienced it. To be honest, I initially chose them because of the discount and assumed that my experience would be no-frills from a service standpoint. I found the opposite to be true. My listing agent, Nick Chaconas, was a consummate professional - Over a 2 month span from first meeting him to settlement, I never sent him an email that he didn't reply to inside of a half hour. He makes you feel like you're his only client. His experience and instincts were key in helping me through some of the tough decisions during the contracting process. He was truly outstanding. Other extra-mile touches: At no extra cost, Redfin sends out a professional photography crew to take photos of the house for the listing. The photos ridiculously high quality. They also reimburse you up to $250 worth of expenses you incur in making your house presentable for sale (carpet cleaning, power-washing, whatever). It just doesn't make sense to use any other realtor when Redfin is so good at what it does. I could not be more pleased with my entire Redfin experience. read more

This was my third home purchase, but first using Redfin. You have to do a bit more of the legwork yourself, however it is well worth it when receive your check for 1.5% of the purchase price of the home. The website is GREAT in that it allows you to do all of the research yourself. You have to put in the time to research, but most of the stuff you are already doing yourself anyway. Schools, recent home sales, etc. Our agent, Bryan Waters, was great, granted 90% of our communications was over the phone and email and we did not meet him until we were a few days from closing, but other members of his team were great in conducting home tours. Redfin is a different, but it is the way of the future and other real estate companies are playing catch-up. By the way Redfin;s iPhone app is one of the best. read more
