We chose Chris Cowgill of Keller Williams Realty as our selling agent from the recommendation of one of my co-worker friends. Thank God she recommended her! Chris was wonderful from the start. She jumped feet first and sold my home in 2 days. She walked me through the inspection process. Negotiated with the buying agent multiple times and compiled a list of professional contractors for necessary repairs for final selling negotiations. (for little to no cost; and was present at repairs as well!) She also bought and put in window balancers on her own on my behalf as I was not in state prior to closing. She was a voice of reason and a great listener of my concerns on multiple occasions. I really value her as a realtor, person and friend. She definitely is a step above the rest. I have never had a realtor like her be so committed and passionate for her work. She also advised me that my home was worth $40, 000 more than another realtor company told me. (and it sold at that price on the 2nd day). You will not regret having her as your agent whether buying or selling. I am selling a home for sale by owner (FSBO) and am offering a $5000.00 finder's fee to bring a buyer to my door and his response was "that is a slap in the face" . Long story short, there are many other realtor's to pick from, I suggest you do that. Or read all about it. We were recommended Todd Watkins of Keller Williams Tri-Cities by a friend of ours, as we had moved out of Washington state and didn't know any realtors in the Tri-Cities area. I got him on the phone and he delivered a great sales pitch, very confident and seemed accomplished in the industry. I ran everything he said by a family member of mine who is a realtor in Oregon, and they liked everything he had to say, gave me the thumbs up on signing a contract with him. After signing the contract around mid January I rarely (if ever) heard from him except when I reached out asking for a status a couple of times. I got tired of asking him and found it strange he never provided me with any updates, even if there wasn't much to share. Which was odd, because when we had it listed ourselves we were getting many inquiries. The same family member previously mentioned couldn't believe we weren't getting weekly updates. By this time we came to the decision we would give it just a little more time before going ahead and rent out the property again, so not much point in terminating and going with another realtor, even though it felt like our realtor was doing nothing. The icing on the cake.... After having our listing for two months, Todd called my wife offering to help sell our property, a property he was already supposed to be selling. Our only guess is that he got her number from an old Craigslist ad when we were trying to sell it ourselves. So this just proved he hadn't done anything and wasn't at all familiar with our property! So, as much as we like paying a mortgage on a vacant property with a realtor who was only wasting our time and money (mortgage), it is safe to say we terminated the agreement. read more
