So we all gotta look good for Zooms b/c heaven knows we are on Zooms constantly. Have you thought about your look? For business meetings? The chair you sit on? I have been sitting on a basic chair where I lean in and hope my lashes do the talking. But it's a year into this plague and a basic chair isn't cutting it for me anymore. I walked into Kellum's Furniture and was greeted immediately. I walked around and liked a lot of things -- rugs, lamps, sofas, side tables -- and then, there it was. The perfect chair. It is leather and regal. It has a lifetime warranty. It is made of flex steel and foam and springs and magic. It raises and lowers. It is on wooden legs with little roller feet. I mean, okay, I love this chair. But I'm also not one to spend that kind of money -- even with a very reasonable discount -- on the date I find something. So they kindly put the chair on hold for me. Then I went wasting my time looking for other office chairs, none of which remotely compared to the chair at Kellum's Furniture. But how would I get it home? Kellum's staff did all the heavy lifting and the complicated geometry to get the dream chair into my car. I am sitting in the chair right now, feeling like a queen. I have been purchasing furniture from Kellum's for almost twenty years. It is a family-owned and operated business and the only Flex Steel dealer in the area. They are polite and knowledgeable and always ready to assist in any way they can. They have even gone above and beyond in helping me find a particular antique I was looking to add to the house. Our old house, 4,000 square feet, had at least ten pieces of flex steel furniture before downsizing and never had a bit of trouble. I would highly recommend Kellum's Furniture for your housing needs. BEWARE!! I ignored the reviews before ordering furniture from this store. This is MY FAULT. I ordered a flexsteel recliner October 24, 2019 as a Christmas present. Nicole (Kellum's granddaughter) said the flexsteel recliner would come in plenty of time for the December 24 delivery and they would keep the recliner in their warehouse. I asked that I receive a text when flexsteel recliner arrives. After Thanksgiving I have not received a text so I called. Talked to Lana (first day of work) eventually talked to Nicole (her last week of work). Nicole assured me several times, the recliner would arrived December 24. I didn't worry about it until today December 24. No flexsteel recliner, no one knows what is going on. Owner (Betty) has no clue. She blames everyone except herself. She said Flexsteel company cancel the order.... You think as an owner she would have contacted me. What is upsetting to me is no one from the store contacted me or returned my calls. STAY AWAY!!! We went to Kellums on 8/2/2013, the salesman was pitching a mattress set to us. We explained that we had a home under construction and it wouldn't be ready for over a year so we couldn't buy it now. He insisted that it "wasn't problem" and said they had ample storage and would hold it for us.We paid $536.42 for the mattress.When I contacted Kellums in order to pick up the merchandise the sales lady said that she had no record of our purchase. After I emailed a photo of the receipt, I received a call from Betty Kellum saying that our mattress set was gone and she offered a different model/style. The manufacturer informed me that it wasn't the the same quality as the original mattress we bought, so I declined to take it. I called Kellums 21 days later asking about the credit for my purchase. At this time Betty Kellum said that she had "found" our mattresses and she refused to refund our money. She became irate and repeatedly made references to how long they had stored the merchandise. We didn't solicit the storage; it was offered by Kellums yet they turn around and attempt to sound as though we burdened them. Obviously the salesperson was desperate to make the sale-that should have been our first sign. I informed her that it had been three weeks since we spoke, she never called me in that three week period to say she had found the mattress set and we had already bought a new set for expected holiday guests. Well, Ms. Kellum said that she was not going to refund our money and she angrily said that our mattresses were there for pickup. Kellum's would not accept any responsibility for their failure to notify us that they "found" the merchandise and never reached out to us with information. I had to call repeatedly to follow up. Kellums essentially committed theft by keeping the money and displayed incredibly poor business practices. I would advise customers to stay away from this business and deal with larger more reputable businesses. This is an example of a small two-bit shop that is desperate for money and will get it any way they can. Betty Kellum is not above using these deceptive practices to keep money from customers and this business should be avoided like the plague. A very foolish business move on Kellums part. We have a spacious, empty, 6 bedroom 4.5 bath home to furnish now and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more
