Kelly Generator & Equipment SUCKS! They went from a family friendly locally owned business to only serving "commercial interests"!! They forgot their beginnings and how they became successful--helping their neighbors. I would not recommend Kelly Generator to ANYONE for anything. They are not very nice or professional and have decided to forget helping and serving homeowners for the pursuit of more capital with big business and etc. SADLY, they quit servicing home owners and accounts they once had. I had my house built 20 yrs ago and the developer selected Kelly Generator to install a 15 kw generator (approx. cost - $5,000) . They have reached out to me every year to perform annual maintenance on it, charging me roughly around $500 each time. One other time after the annual maintenance about a year ago, it ended up costing me an additional $1,000 because they are sending out inexperienced technicians and then supervisors to clean up their mess. This time they called and I should have listened to my gut to wait until something broke down before I called them. Nevertheless, they came out and in the process of maintenance did some damage to one of my circuit boards then turn around and blamed it on the weather. These are the words from the service manager, Will who dodged my calls and emails for about three weeks. They quoted me a proposal to fix for $1,800 (that's over 1/3 towards a brand new 15 kw generator). My response, of course is I'm not paying it and that they need to fix it at their cost because I didn't have any issues with my generator before they came out. At this point, after being a loyal customer I am parting ways with Kelly Generator. The service manager is arrogant and refuses to acknowledge fault. I recommend to anyone, DO NOT USE KELLY GENERATOR. They are more focused on profits over customer service and satisfaction. Culture has changed and they are in the habit of charging you on routine maintenance, creating problems then having you pay them exuberant costs to fix the problems that they have created. I have been debating about filing a lawsuit against the company. read more

Very bad expierence with this company, been in restoration 25+ years and this by far was the worst! Terrible communication, non communication, made promises they didn't keep, never regularly sent statements or bills. At the end of the job sent me over a 50k invoice couldn't explain the invoice and sent us to a lawyer because they lacked any good sense or customer expierence. The bill is paid in full but they are highly expensive and do not operate a customer friendly or organized company for their clients. read more

Probably the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. They came to our house and serviced our equipment during a storm 2 months ago. They charged us $1200 and the generator was never fixed. They stayed here exactly 1 hour and left with the generator still down. When I tried to get an explanation they would not return my call. We found another company to fix the problem for $300 They did not refund our money Please stay away from this company. Absolutely terrible. $1200 for a service call during a storm is price gouging. Horrible service, overcharged me on a generator repair - over $1,200 (JUST TO SHOW UP) and the generator was not fixed. Sent me an estimate for over $2,000 to finish the job. I declined and fixed it for $100. The estimate was not broken down by parts or labor. Poor communication all the way around when I tried to drill into the details. STAY AWAY!!!! BTW - I had been on a service contract for many years, so I know these guys well. Canceled that today!!! read more

The worst experience ever! Almost got killed last year during a power outage because the Kelly installed generator was not vented properly. CO leaped into the house. Fire Department came and the measurements were so high in CO, they became lethal. Had to evacuate the house immediately. Kelly subsequently terminated the service contract and refused to vent the generator properly. What a scheister company. Do not buy from they! Will not stand behind their product. read more

These guys came to my house, looked at my generator, and it gave me a quote for servicing it. I said yes, let's do it. Then they told me to pay the full amount of the quote, before they did any work. I told them I would pay the full amount, but after they did the work. They refused, so I went with another company that didn't insist on payment in advance. Never heard of a service contractor doing business this way. read more
