I went to a 5:30 barre class and during the warmup began feeling very lightheaded. I hadn't eaten enough, and I just realized it. I sat down a couple time during the class (which felt especially awkward since there were only 3 people in class) because I feared I'd pass out. This happens a lot to me, but it's not fun. I felt the color flush from my cheeks. The instructor checked on me quietly to make sure I was fine, and had the front desk attendant follow up. I was eating nuts in the lounge area and the front desk girl offered me an ice pack and protein bar. I took the bar and ate it but still wasn't feeling well. She checked on me again and offered to give me a free class pass so I could come back and actually enjoy the workout. She cleaned up my mat and equipment for me and told me to feel better. As someone who's fainted at concerts, doctor's offices, fast food restaurants, and everywhere else, I know how embarrassing it can be. These ladies made me feel so comforted!!! They kept class going so I didn't feel like a distraction, made sure I was okay and ensured I'd be back to appreciate the class another day. Love this community of kind hearted women!

Pure Barre is such an amazing and unique workout option! It's a perfect low impact type of exercise…read morewhile still being extremely challenging and helping you reach your fitness goals. As a former college athlete, once I got into the real world I became pretty burnt out with traditional workouts, and especially running and heavy weight lifting, as that's all I did my entire athletic career. I was having a hard time finding a rhythm and enthusiasm for being active, up until my friend invited me to try a class here at Pure Barre. There are several different class formats at Barre, but all are fairly easy to learn, especially if you tell the instructor you are newer. The traditional format is the most common, and the only equipment you use is a small yoga ball, a band and 2-3lb dumbbells, which are already at the studio for you to use. There is no high-impact exercising that is hard on your body or joints. Everything in these classes are small, focused movements that don't seem like they should be that challenging, but they definitely burn your muscles. Even using 2lb dumbbells for a 50 minutes class you WILL build and tone muscle and get stronger. It feels so good. It's also amazing to be in a class format, surrounding by others who are grinding through the class with you. The instructors will walk around and give you one-on-one adjustments to make sure you form is correct so you won't hurt yourself and so that it's most effective. I'm really, really happy to have tried out Pure Barre and it's become a part of my routine. If you haven't ever done a Barre class, you will need sticky socks and there's no shoes allowed in the studio. They do have socks for loan at the front desk if you want to just come and try out a class first. Jennifer, Evy, Lauren, Nicole and the crew are so awesome!!

So one thing i was surprised to see - Every treadmill/cardio equipment had its own TV at this location!! That was pretty awesome. But you have to get a remote from the front desk (or something like that) . The facility overall was clean and cleaning stations were well stocked. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll be back!

We have two home one in GA and one in Fl…read more So our membership is for GA but when we are in Lakeland we want to use the gym here (which is what they advertise) However the location on 98 N Lakeland said since it's not our home gym we were denied access. When I asked for corporate information I was informed they are not a corporate location, but a franchise and refused to give me any information past himself which I guess was the manager.

Its warm, friendly and an incredible family atmosphere. Its cool seeing children, teens, moms and dads. What is incredible is the Christian atmosphere and scriptures throughout the place. As a senior pastor, I feel refreshed just visiting this place. Equipment is great, locker rooms clean. One of the best YMCA' s I've ever been in. I've traveled the world and just returned from the mission field in dangerous Pakistan. I need this place of refreshment.

They say use the app, well the app didn't cancel membership in April. So in April my husband used…read morethe app again but this time went to the YMCA on Cleveland Heights to make sure the cancelation had gone through. Girl at the front desk checked and told my husband it was canceled. Then in May we were charged again which we challenged and we were given credit and then received email stating membership was canceled but now they are saying it was May, now receiving invoice for May and a fee. No one returns phone messages which we have left since April and now manager is ignoring paperwork being left for Mr. Ford at front desk on Friday 7/17. Never again would I belong.
