I've worked in Wingdale for 11 years and never knew this place existed! We visited for a coworker's retirement, and I was pleasantly surprised by what a gem Kelly's is. The atmosphere is wonderful, with a food truck, miniature golf, fire pits, and an ice cream creamery that make it a fun spot for all ages. I ordered the pulled pork with coleslaw, and it was honestly some of the best I've ever had. If you're in the Dover area, I highly recommend stopping by. It difficult to choose between the three since a double scoop is as much as I can handle before my sinuses explode from exceeding my lactose threshold. This snack spot's popularity is well deserved and the line inside can get pretty long and move slowly. Once you give your order to the kind person behind the counter- please don't hang out in front of the ice cream display and block its view. The happy horde of your friends and family are not transparent. The last few times I've been here, there were older couples who were quietly trying but failing to peek in between lolly gaggers to consider selections and order. This review is towards the mini-golf. When I return for the food truck and creamery, it will get an update. We were thrilled to find a mini golf course in the area and let's face it, there are not that many in the Hudson Valley to be found. The course was set up wonderfully, and challenging for the most part, adding the fun. Some of the course runs parallel to a pond, which can be a hassle if the ball gets in there, so be careful. Something that drew my attention was each hole wasn't numbered, except for one of them which was number 11. Who knows, maybe I missed it. Even though that's an eye-catcher, it's very easy following hole to hole. Also, while golfing in the daytime, there aren't many trees close by, which will bring the sweat game on. Bringing some sunscreen is a big plus. I wouldn't mind making this stop again someday, because there is a lot to do here. read more

Such a cute place tucked away in Dover plain. This review includes Kelly's creamery and food truck because if you come for one, you should come for both! Super family friendly with outdoor seating by the food truck. They have a fire pit, long picnic tables, Cornhole games, chess, and bache ball fit. Order at the food truck window and they bring the food to you. There were 6 of us and we got their avocado burger, Hawaii burger (with grilled pineapple), ahi tuna sandwich,kid grilled cheese and kid burger, and sides of sweet potato fries and Cajun fries. Everything was reasonably priced (i.e. burgers/sandwich were $9-12 each(no fries), kids meal include fries & drinks were $9 each, fries were $5). Food was fresh and delicious, even the kid's grilled cheese was on thick taxes toast bread. The kids were distracted with all the outdoor games which made our eating experience pleasant. After lunch we head over to the creamery which had many yummy flavors to choose from. Flavors like pumpkin, blueberry, strawberry cheesecake, death by chocolate, cookie dough, etc. They definitely don't skim on ingredients, ones we tried are packed with goodies and flavor. Very good! Stopped at Kelly's while in town hiking to Dover Stone Church. We decided to try their food truck right out side their creamery. The whole idea of having seating next to a food truck was awesome. We had a good time especially after trying the amazing burgers and fries they make. We definitely ordered way too much but we're big eaters. We couldn't leave without trying their icecream and folks, it's definitely a must try. If I'm in town again or passing by I'm definitely stopping again. I came upstate with two friends who're living here during the pandemic. There isn't much around for them to do, but they constantly express their gratitude for living so close to Kelly's Creamery! They said that once we arrived, that we HAD to get to their food truck (which is only open on weekends) before they close. They recommended their shrimp and grits, which I got! The grits were creamy, cheesy, butter-y, well cooked....everything you want in grits. They were topped of with perfectly seared mushrooms (you can tell they didn't add the salt until the mushrooms were cooked, like you're supposed to), nicely grilled and seasoned shrimp and........BACON! What a combo of flavors! I also ordered a cheeseburger, which was nicely cooked and perfectly seasoned! I asked for it to be cooked medium rare and they did just that. This burger was beyond juicy! I squeezed it, just to enjoy watching the juices run from it. Such a beautiful sight to behold . They had super festive Halloween decorations up, which was fun. They also had heat lamps for their guests who decided to stick around and eat their food there. The following day was just as exciting because it was time to get their ice cream! They had such a variety to choose from, which is never good for me, because I'm so indecisive lol. I ended up going with the Graham explosion flavor, and their seasonal apple pie flavor. Omg, the graham explosion was perfect. You got globs of graham cracker swirls, cinnamon, and chocolate covered graham cracker chunks! The apple pie flavor was just as amazing, also consisting of graham cracker (crust), with perfectly, seemingly sautéed apples. The warm cinnamon flavor and crust really made you feel like you were eating an apple pie. My friends who go there often, vouch for every flavor they've tried, being delicious! Not a fan. 3 tries, each got progressively worse. First time I ordered soft serve. It was runny and had a bit of an aftertaste. Trip #2 I tried hard ice cream. Two scoops in a waffle cone. The scoops were small. The cone dwarfed the ice cream. At the prices they charge you would expect a good sized scoop. Try #3 today. Tries to order two different ice creams. Out of both. Italian ice? Out of that too. We walked out. Just stopped at the food truck after driving by too many times. The young lady who took our order was great, we ordered 2 meals to go and it came out within 10 minutes and the food is delicious. Comparing Double Twister in Danbury, Ben and Jerry's in VT, Rich Farm in Oxford, Ferris Acres in Newtown, and the Hot Chocolate Sparrow in Brewster, MA. All great ice cream but Kelly's is better.
