But today, looking back at the years Jack lived with quality, comfort, and joy, I can honestly say that every dollar was worth it. Her knowledge, careful monitoring, and thoughtful adjustments to his medications helped prolong Jack's life for years--not simply keeping him alive, but allowing him to continue enjoying our family, our home, his routines, and the love that surrounded him every day. What made her care even more exceptional was the support she gave us between appointments. Whenever Jack had a change, a crisis, a question about medication, or a new symptom, she and her team were consistently attentive. They reviewed information, returned our calls, guided us by phone, and treated our concerns with seriousness and compassion. In the end, what may initially have seemed expensive became, in truth, invaluable. The level of access, attention, expertise, and continuity of care made the cost feel small compared with what we received: more years with Jack, and years in which he had a meaningful quality of life. Sadly, Jack has now passed away, and our family is experiencing a pain that is difficult to put into words. But alongside this grief, we feel immense gratitude. Every appointment was handled by medical assistants. 2. **The medical assistants performed the echocardiograms and discussed the diagnosis.** After getting a second opinion, my new cardiologist personally performed and interpreted my cat's echocardiogram and explained that my cat's previous diagnosis may not have been accurate. That was very concerning. 3. **Sedation seemed to be the norm.** My cat routinely needed sedation for echocardiograms at this practice. At my new cardiologist, I was allowed to stay with my cat during the exam, and he remained calm enough that sedation wasn't necessary. 4. **The pricing and policies lacked transparency.** Fees increased significantly over the years, and I was never informed that the practice had changed its policy from annual visits to visits every six months for medication refills. When I called to schedule what I thought was my annual appointment, I was told I had to pay the much higher "first visit" fee--about $300-$400 more--because it had been over six months, even though my cat had been an established patient for five years. After comparing my experiences, I only wish I had switched sooner. I expected more transparency, better communication, and more direct involvement from the cardiologist in my cat's care.

When Dr. Zafir & Heather arrive md at my home I met them outside with sealed N95s the 3M aura which are the comfortable medical grade respirator masks and they greeted me warmly and I immediately felt safe even before they entered my home. The exam was brilliantly and flawlessly done in my bathroom with my kitten. My kitten has been scared since he got here but he was purring during the exam and let Heather & Dr. Zafir hold him and do everything they needed to do. I had an instant rapport with both of them and felt at ease and super impressed with how easy and stress free they made the exam process. This is so much easier for both the pets and pet parents for a multiple reasons as well as keeping a healthy pet safe and not picking up anything from sick pets in a waiting room at an animal hospital (which I used to witness all the time).
