We recently had the pleasure of working with Dr. Zafir from Vets to Pets for our 13-year-old German Shepherd's general check-up and mobility concerns, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. Dr. Zafir was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough. He took his time with our sweet senior girl, carefully explaining each step of the exam and walking us through his findings in terms that were easy to understand. We never once felt rushed or like he was hurrying off to the next appointment. That alone meant so much to us. His assistant (and wife) was equally compassionate and gentle, making the entire visit feel calm and supportive. It's such a gift to be able to handle what can often be an arduous and stressful task in the comfort of our own home. Removing the anxiety of travel and the clinic environment made a world of difference for our elderly dog, and for us. Dr. Zafir & Heather are absolutely amazing and purrfection! I just adopted a rescue kitten on Saturday. I am an experienced pet parent myself and years ago worked at 7 different animal hospitals in NY as well as volunteered at shelters, so I have seen and experienced many things professionally and personally. Having a mobile veterinarian that does house calls is a game changer! Having Dr. Zafir & Heather are the absolute best! I am immune compromised now & disabled so I was specifically looking for a veterinarian who not only does house calls but who would wear an N95 respirator for me in my home. When I called Dr. Zafir he answered and was so kind and helpful & accommodating. I was very impressed with his bio and the reviews and the great website with photos & videos. I appreciated everything from the follow up calls to confirm the time prior to the appointment. When Dr. Zafir & Heather arrive md at my home I met them outside with sealed N95s the 3M aura which are the comfortable medical grade respirator masks and they greeted me warmly and I immediately felt safe even before they entered my home. The exam was brilliantly and flawlessly done in my bathroom with my kitten. My kitten has been scared since he got here but he was purring during the exam and let Heather & Dr. Zafir hold him and do everything they needed to do. I had an instant rapport with both of them and felt at ease and super impressed with how easy and stress free they made the exam process. This is so much easier for both the pets and pet parents for a multiple reasons as well as keeping a healthy pet safe and not picking up anything from sick pets in a waiting room at an animal hospital (which I used to witness all the time). I highly recommend Dr. Zafir & Heather for their outstanding service! My kitty agrees they are purrfection and pawsitivly marvelous. I have used Dr. Zafir multiple times. I own three cats and he has come to my house to treat all 3 of them. He is patient, kind and knowledgeable-taking his time to listen, observe, and handle each cat. He thoroughly answers all my questions and calls afterwards for a follow up. What makes him most amazing though, was when I had to call to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. He and his assistant were with me, consoling me during the process. Sorry I can't call this guy a doctor. I called him up and told him the symptoms of what my cat was going through. He said by the symptoms you should be okay, but I do have some real emergencies that I have to tend to. He did get back to me and I told him things are getting worse. He said by what you're describing it's not fatal. So it took this guy like a week to get to my house. My cat was dying of CANCER. When he came to look at the cat. It was obvious what my cat was dying from. But he said no let me take them in and we'll see what we can do for him. Which meant, let's see how much money I can suck out of this sucker. I said no why would I do that you and I both know what to deal is. He said okay that's fine, they gave me a bill for $150. So I paid him for a misdiagnosis and allowing my cat to suffer until it died. Sadly the state of Florida does nothing with the so-called formal complaints against these so-called doctors. I was referred to Vets to Pets by a neighbor who suggested this mobile business if you can't drive or transport your sick or injured pet to a hospital. I called on Sunday and they immediately responded the next morning on Monday and came that afternoon No waiting days or weeks!!! Like most businesses. They come right to your home with all their medical equipment and examine your pet in the comfort of your home. Your pets are more relaxed in their own environment and it's alot easier for you if you can't drive or if you are sick. If you go on their website you can find discounts to deduct from the cost of the visit like a free first time exam for first time clients or a 20% discount if you work with animals. The rates were very affordable. I highly recommend this business! read more

I am so very pleased with Dr. Zafir and his staff! My husband and I don't drive anymore and we are both disabled. Dr. Zafir comes to us. He is so very thorough, caring and compassionate. His prices for services are very reasonable! He doesn't order unnecessary tests just to run up the bill like most of the animal care clinics and hospitals in the area. He comes very prepared and gives precise instructions on how to care for your pet. He even gives you a follow up call a day or two after coming to your home to treat your pet. So disappointed and disgusted. I had Dr. Zafir come to my home to do a physical for my 14 year old cat. I was unhappy with Dr. Zafir as he promised to come back a second time minus the travelling fee due to the fact that he could not obtain a blood draw from my cat. I was very unhappy with the whole experience as Dr. Zafir can barely walk due to neuropathy and is very slow in his actions. He fussed too much with setting up his flash light and took so long to the point that my normally laid back cat was stressed. He could not see the vein and poked my cat with the needle in both legs and never got blood. When I called for a second trip he flat out refused when I refused to sedate my 14 year old cat for his convenience. I have all of this on my home security video. What truly broke the camels back is his response when I emailed him asking for a refund of $65 of the $115 telling him my feelings honestly. Dr. Zafir threatened "Maybe I should speak to your employer and show them your email for her to determine what kind of a person you are and be mindful of what you are capable of." People this is blackmail and against the law!!! BEWARE of a vet that cannot take an honest review. Needless to say, I was forced to go to another vet who agreed that it was ludicrous to sedate my cat. They were able to draw the blood under two minutes. I also got x-rays and a urine draw all without any stress or sedation from my cat!!! See if you can get Dr. Zafir's license #. It's not on his website and when I asked for it, of course I never received a reply. As far as my employer, I had actually referred Dr. Zafir to her prior to my trying him out. Never again. Suffice to say, Dr. Zafir, she wasn't all that thrilled with you either. read more

My elderly kitty I took in as a feral seemed to be having congestion in her nose. Because she is afraid of people I could not take her to a vet. I called Vets to Pets and Dr Zafir came the next day. He is such a compassionate person and I was so impressed with the way he treated my kitty and gave us advice for continued care. He even called me two days later to check and see how she was doing. if i could give Dr. Zafir and his lovely wife more than 5 stars i would! have had pets all my life -visited plenty of vets but NONE of them with the knowledge and luv and care and solicitude that he has--i mean what vet can you call or text at anytime of the day or night and reach him directly! he also delivers medicine right to your door!! my cat had several diseases going on when most just have one --with his knowledge and expertise she was able to survive many more months! i just lost my dearest fur child and he called several times to see how I am doing and even called the hospital where she rested her last night.. you cant get anymore special than that and i told him so! read more

Although I haven't personally met Dr. Zafir I can't thank him enough for being kind and extremely nurturing to my family in such a hard time. We had to put one of our dogs to sleep. He not only comforted my father in such a hard decision but personally brought my dogs' ashes to us at home. Called late evening on a Saturday and said he would need to go back to his office to get the needed medication after describing the dog's symptoms and would be over within the hour. He was as prompt as could be and very gentle and caring. Gave the dog a complete exam and brought the needed vaccine and additional medication and special food for the next four days. The dog was much better within 24 hours and happy again. His charges were spelled out in a detailed bill and was extremely reasonable . Thank you Dr. Safir and his wife (who was caring and gentle with the dog), he also followed up daily the next 2 days with calls to see how he was. Great experience highly recommend. read more

I was trying to find a trusting Mobile Vet for my aging dog. Dr Zafir was very thorough. He requested records from previous Vets. My dog loved him and his assistant. He was reasonable priced, less than previous vet visit, and didn't over test or over medicate. He discussed options for the plan of care going forward. As many of us pet parents know, taking our furry treasures to the vet can be challenging for many reasons. For me it is having two felines, both that fight me when trying to be put into the carrier. One gets motion sickness before out of the driveway, and the other is a formerly feral rescue that does not like to be handled. I decided to explore having a vet come to my home and was very impressed by the reviews of Dr. Zafir, Vets to Pets, so in 2017, I made my first appointment with Dr. Zafir. Prior to the appointment Dr. Zafir obtained copies of all medical records from the their current Vet office. During the first visit I sat with Dr. Zafir and we discussed the medical care and treatment of both my girls. Dr. Zafir was not at all rushed during the appointment and it was evident that he had thoroughly reviewed the medical history of my two felines and he clearly explained to me care options available, along with his recommendations, and then I decided the treatment plan. I found the cost for a home visit to be comparable to that of a brick & mortar vet office and certainly, the option of having Dr. Zafir come to my home made it much more convenient and less stressful for me and my two felines. Dr. Zafir always arrives on time, fully prepared, is well organized, and both he and his vet tech/assistants (sometimes his wife or Casey) have always treated my girls with gentle care and compassion. Accessible, Caring, concerned, knowledgeable & reasonable are only some of the ways to describe Dr. Zafir. Being in the animal advocacy world I have met very few vets as competent as he. Its amazing he has not lost that compassion and true love for the animals so many vets are lacking these days. Add that to the convenience and stress relieved of not having to transport 7 cats and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Dr. Zafir. He literally charged me for 7 cats (examination) what another vet wanted to charge me for 2 cats.....and that other vet worked across the street. Had an amazing vet appointment for my cat yesterday. My cat was limping. The Dr. And his wife came to my house. Was very gentle with my very scared and skittish cat. Found her claw was growing into her paw. Took great care to cut it and take care of the infection. Also examined her and made some other suggestions for her. This visit was great because I cannot transport my cat to a vet. The Dr. Also called me today to follow up with my cat to see how she is doing. Never had that with a normal vet.
