I've been stopping by Kelly's since it was a food cart in the Mall parking lot on Hwy 14! The current incarnation is a big improvement. The shop is comfortable looking and has a nice esthetic. The 4 shore iced breve was well made and hit the spot. Go to local coffee joints. They're often the heart of the neighborhood... often quirky but welcoming.

This is the BEST little coffee shop! It rivals those that might be found in Madison. The coffee is…read moreroasted in house and much of it is organic and of superior quality. I always get cold brew, which has a wonderfully full taste and doesn't have that burnt flavor like the beans offered at inferior coffee spots. I absolutely love that they have coconut milk, which is rather unheard-of in most places. I can get my coffee here just as I would make it at home, which is made with Two Rivers' house-roasted beans of course! I do not however, have iced coffee ice cubes at my house as they do here. Um, AMAZING!! Talk about going the extra mile for their coffee people! Beyond the excellent coffee and accoutrements they have here, the place is tastefully and minimally decorated. It's perfect for bringing a friend to chat with or your laptop to get some work done. The best part: it's located in historic downtown Portage and is family owned and operated. It's owned by the nicest young couple of whom will be your friends in no time! These guys make it! Support this wonderful family and give the historic downtown your business by enjoying an absolutely superb cup of coffee! (Or three if you're anything like me.)

The barista jumped up when we walked in and greeted us warmly The almond joy is sweet, my husband said it's good. The cafe au lait is very weak and desperately needs another shot of espresso. The fact that it taste like just steamed milk instead of espresso with steamed milk is disappointing. It's seem like a nice place but I wouldn't be likely to return

As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) by the variety of art displayed all over the store. I really liked the skateboards painted by a local artist, and the person working the tea counter was happy to talk to me about the artists and the upcoming art fair in town. I took some time to peruse the tea accouterments available in the store, including mugs and infusers, ready-packaged loose tea, and more. This is a great place to shop for a tea lover in your life! Then I meandered over to the walls of tea. There are many varieties available and again the employee was very happy to talk through any questions. There were four teas at the counter that were available to sample. I sometimes appreciate having more limited options instead of having too big of a selection to be indecisive about, so I tried a couple samples and chose from there. I got the Precious Eyebrows tea (that's a translation of the original name!), and it was a really good classic green tea. The treats behind the counter, like the chocolate chunk cookies and different types of pie, were very tempting. I didn't get any food this time, but I do hope to return! The store is also linked to an art and jewelry gallery that I was able to check out while my tea was steeping. There is also both indoor and outdoor seating and a couple of other shops right nearby to check out. Great place to check out.
