I'm blown away. I ran out of gas right outside the cove of Kelly's port( extremely embarrassing). I called them on an extremely busy day for help. They sent 2 people on a service boat to tow us to the pump. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I tried to force cash on to everyone's hand and they wouldn't take ca dollar for helping me. The nice man even got the air out of the system so our engines would start. Kelly's port reminded me that there are good people in this world. Awesome people at Kelly's Port, I've been here since July and can't say enough great things about Kelly's. This post was prompted by a service member named Grant. Friday morning on his way to service another boat on the dock, I waived him down for what I thought was a quick question. Turns out I was having, what could've been, a serious issue with a battery. Thankfully he stopped right there and fixed a small cheap problem b4 it became a big one. He had me up and running in about an hour. Purchased a boat and absolutely surprised and delighted at the extra care that went in to making sure we had everything we needed. If you are out on the lake looking to fuel your boat, do yourself a favor and head over to Kelly's. The prices are really good, but the service you get is great. The "Dock Angels" are great at directing traffic and getting your boat tied up to fuel. The service is quick and friendly. My kids loved talking about the fun they were having with the "Angel" as she filled our boat. May sound odd to review a boat gas station, but the service they offer is so good I had share. read more

Our Family has been a customer of Kelly's Port for many years. I own a boat that has been exclusively serviced and gassed at KP since 2006. My sister who bought a boat a few years ago (Not at Kelly's Port) had trouble on the water (See review from Lynne N). After Lynne wrote the review I got the following email from Kyle Kelly. ******************** "My name is Kyle Kelly and I'm the general manager here at Kelly's Port. This negative review was just passed on my desk, and this is unacceptable and unfair to our team. You chose to purchase a Bennington from out of the area, therefore, accepted the fact that we would not give priority service on the vessel. If expedient service is important, we strongly recommend you request the dealer from whom you bought the boat come down to work on the vessel - as I'm sure you spent a lot of money, and service appears to be important to you. We are loyal to the clients who are loyal to us, therefore, that is why we recommend you "buy the best and only cry once", you guys chose to buy a boat elsewhere, and need to be comfortable with those consequences. At this time, unless the review is removed, we will no longer be working on any vessels you own." *************************** This is a form of blackmail that I will not be a party to and really had nothing to do with me until now. I have no power to take down the ad since I did not write it. We have been loyal customers. I would think a responsible owner or business would want to try and alleviate the issues or talk things out instead of strong arming customers to try and get what they want. I think you need to think long and hard about your approach to customer service Kyle. We did not buy our boat or Seadoos at Kelly's Port but have been spending our hard earned money to have them serviced there for many years. I would think that would make us Loyal and repeat customers, but it seems you have to actually buy your boat at KP to get any respect or service. I want to point out that my Sister acknowledged the fact that she would be "behind" other boats when it came to priority service and was fine with that, but KP refused to take the boat even though they were stranded. They had to get towed to a different marina and were actually on their way again in about an hour. Such a simple fix. We have many choices for service on this lake we don't have to spend our money at Kelly's Port. read more

I would not recommend Kelly's Port. Although my family has done business with Kelly's for 25 years, they refused to help us with service on a boat that was not purchased from them even though we were broken down immediately outside of their Marina. We also had a terrible experience when trying to purchase a new boat with them when they wouldn't negotiate. How do you attract new customers or purchasers when you won't help current customers? I will not take my business there again. read more

Where do I begin?! From the phone call inquiring about a boat, to making our decision, the salesman, the financial girl, the marina girls, the cleaning crew, the boat demonstrator, and the front office girls! We were offered drinks, snacks, everyone said hi, and asked if we needed anything. We needed to go back the following weekend to have something looked at, they worked us in and got us back in the water within 45 minutes! We will definitely continue working with them. And just so you know, we bought one of the more inexpensive pre-owned boats they had available, and we were treated the same as if we were buying a $150,000 boat. read more

Terrible Service! I contacted Kelly's Port on 7/5/2017 because of a problem I was having with our boat. I spoke with Sam Price who is in the service department. I explained to him the problem I was having and that the boat was parked at Summerset Inn Resort which is right across the cove. I told Sam I needed the boat fixed by Tuesday, July 25th. Sam, said it would not be a problem to get my boat fixed by then. I followed up with Sam several times as the days went by. He kept telling me they would get to it. Finally, Sam said the technician would get to it on the 20th. On the 21st, I called and they hadn't looked at the boat. Sam said the tech would get to it on the 22nd. On the 23rd I called Sam and sure enough the boat has still not been looked at. I asked Sam if he could guarantee the boat would be looked at on the 24th. He said he couldn't guarantee that. It sure would have been nice if they would have told me back on July 5th that they might not be able to look at the boat. Now I'm scrambling to have the boat fixed. We will not be using Kelly's Port in the future. read more

This place is a complete rip-off and they are money hungry. I kept for boat here for years. Once, I came to take the boat out and it had a foot of water in the cuddy. When it came time to sell the boat, I used KP to broker. They said the boost needed service to sell it, and I agreed to their request. The first round of service did not fix the problem after about $400. Then they said it needed something else, which I agreed to. Finally the problem was solved after much unneeded repair costs. To top it all off, after I sold the boat and requested my pre-paid storage credit, they only refunded me the monthly rate instead of the pre-paid rate that I paid for 6 months prior. Here is Kyle Kelly's last email on the matter: Thank you for your business. Discounted rates are only for full year's lease so that we can guarantee the monthly income. If we can't guarantee the income, we can't justify the discounted rate for dry storage that is at 100% occupancy with a waiting list. We feel it's the right thing to do to let folks out of their leases if they sell the boat through us so they're not "stuck" in a lease or paying for storage they're not using. Also, it would not be fair to the folks who have paid for the full twelve months for us to give discounted rates to people who did not utilize the full twelve months per the agreement. That's been a long standing policy and common practice. Sorry it's not what you wanted to hear what that's the system we've developed that makes the most semblance of fairness and consistency to other renters and the business. We purchased a used boat on July 4th of this year from Kelly's Port. From the sales person to the lady on the dock fueling you can tell that all the employees enjoy working there and are genuinely enjoying taking care of their customers. Even weeks after the sale we had some questions and got an immediate returned phone call they said just bring your boat back and we will get you right in which they did. Customer service is in my opinion the best you could ask for. read more

I ABSOLUTLY WILL NEVER refer anyone to Kelly's Port. My husband and I were more interested in purchasing our 5th boat than they were in selling a boat. John our salesman did nothing to look through the inventory to assist in finding the boat we were looking for. It was only in my looking on their website that I found the boat we wrote a contract on. Several times before and after the contract was signed I asked about purchasing a trailer for the boat we contracted. After receiving absolutely no assistance, I found a trailer online. The financing department was unable to help in obtaining financing, AND did not submit the proper information to our Bank after I secured my own financing. Only after I ironed out the financing and trailer purchase, I was informed that they wanted me to pay additional money to them so that they could "get top dollar" on my trade, when they were only giving me the "trade in value" on my trade. This was the last straw that broke the deal. Once we killed the deal, we promptly received our trade in back and all of the money we put down. We then drove directly to MARINE MAX where we purchased our 5th boat and haven't looked back. The service we received at Marine Max was exceptional and I didn't have to do anything. They gave us a better deal on our trade, secured several offers of financing for us, and made the process the most professional and efficient. read more

I would never use Kellys Port for anything. The service department is just not helpful and on top of anything. You never get a phone called returned. I always received a reason why nothing was taken care of on a timely basis and that reason was always someone else. If you buy a boat there and have a problem it will never get taken care of. We have been without a boat since July 4th and it is December 2 and still not taken care of. Please find someone else to buy and service your boats. It will save alot of stress in your life. There has got to be more professional boat company in this area. read more

Certified boat had bad blow-by hoses causing intake gasket failure. I purchased a certified used 1996 Chapparal 2550SX boat from Kelly's Port on 4/7/12. The blow-by hoses that were installed on the boat had caused the intake gasket to fail and which caused a massive oil leak. I had another marina service the boat on 7/9/12 in which they identified the malfunctioning gasket and incorrect blow-by hoses and repaired for $400. Kelly's Port certification states that all hoses, engine compression, outdrive, electrical systems have been thoroughly inspected and cleared "certification." I contacted Randy Kelly (owner) stating the issue via email and had asked for reimbursement for the cost I had incurred and he declined stating that it was after the 30 day warranty under the terms of sale. My point that I had expressed to Randy Kelly was that they had certified the boat and the hoses had been inspected and they should've replaced them as well as the gasket prior to the sale. However, Randy Kelly had stated that this issue is outside the terms of the warranty and that Kelly's Port was not in the position to give me a "blank check" on a 16 year old boat. When I had asked Randy Kelly what the certification was actually doing he stated that in effect they were only certifying the engine based on it's compression tests and condition of the outdrive. I had explained that this is misleading since the certification is to ensure to buyers that all systems had met a certain level/standard by experienced boat mechanics and his tactics are misleading. Randy Kelly as he has flat out refused to offer any type of compensation based on the fact that he considers this a warranty issue whereas I consider this to be a certification issue. read more
