I came to Aspen recently to celebrate my birthday and found my way to Kemo Sabe. I waited in line to enter the store for about thirty minutes, due to waiting to be paired with a sales associate. I'm not sure if that was just because it was the holiday season, but they did not allow anyone in the store without being accompanied by an associate. Once I was paired, the associate gave me a complimentary cocktail and started sizing me for hats. I did feel she was a bit pushy, heavily suggesting certain colors even when I shared my own preferences. As I started on accessories, I did not feel like I was being shown all of the options and only those with a price tag over $1000 (on top of the price of the hat itself). I took it upon myself to search and find what I really liked, but the pushiness of the associate made the experience less enjoyable and rather stressful. Overall I am happy with my purchase, but I would recommend anyone coming in to come prepared with the style you want because the process can be overwhelming otherwise. read more

Had the most amazing experience with the shop gal Erika today! Walked in with a thrifted had and wanted to add some glitz and glam to make it more personalized. I expected to be put off to the side being that I didn't purchase a "Kemo Sabe" hat. That was NOT the case with Erika. She was incredibly friendly, and helped to pick out all the fun additions that were in my budget! If we ever go back to this location I am definitely requesting Erika again! Had an amazing time here with a group of girlfriends designing hats and celebrating my best friend's engagement! It was my first time at any Kemo Sabe and though I was overwhelmed at first, the incredible staff made all of us feel so welcome and made sure that each girl in our group was 100% happy with how our hats turned out. Huge shout out to Allison. She made me feel so comfortable, so heard, and so confident!! This experience would not have been the same without her. All the staff were excellent but I can't say enough amazing things about Allison!! I mean did you really come to Aspen if you didn't leave in a Kemo Sabe?!! No! No, you didn't. As excited as I was to come in and customize a hat, let me tell you my heart just about fell out of my chest when I spotted the entire Hunt family in here. Absolutely unreal, if you have zero idea who I'm referring to then you aren't a Chiefs fan but I just about fell out on the floor. Obviously, I didn't say a single word because I'm just not the type but the only reason I was even in town was because Gracie ran the Aspen Valley Marathon some years back and I bookmarked this marathon to run sometime. It was totally serendipitous! I have so many hats! I'm a serious hat woman, I think my last count was near or over 60 (not Kemo Sabe, c'mon that would be insane- but hats in general). When selecting a hat I wanted a color I didn't have already. It was down to purple, pink or yellow and I decided on pink. The pics look coral but it's really a lovely pink. I almost wanted white but I think I'll get it too dirty and there's actually a white Stetson I want. I jazzed her up and was on my way. Eventually I'll add hat pins and other bedazzlements but this was a good start. Base pricing ranges from $495-$895 and other pins and such are a couple hundred dollars from what I saw. I had to give this location a low rating. We spent about 30 minutes in the store without a single greeting or even a quick "I'll be right with you." Every employee seemed to avoid eye contact, which made the experience uncomfortable. It's surprising that a store wouldn't want to assist a customer ready to spend a significant amount on boots and merchandise. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this location. Okay we had to wait; yes wait 30 minutes outside to get into one of the best cowboy & cowgirl shop in all the Wild West! We were chanting and dancing while waiting until the "doorman" let us in. I had the best time treating my wife to a Kemo Sabe that really looks so cool on her! Service is highly personalized and my wife purchased spent more than one hour analyzing different hat options. I had already bought a cool hat in rabbit that held very well for more than 8 years at Kemo Sabe. Their selection of hats is impressive. They also have great western style gears including cowboy boots from El Paso Texas!!. You can get a hat for around $350 up to several thousands so pick and choose what makes sense for your purses!! They serve you Margueritas while you wait which is such a nice touch! The place rocks! My best friend K brought us in as he is a local here and I have to say this is a really cool place; but arm yourself with patience as our wait was long! I even met a classmate from HBS which was really cool and a friend from El Paso! Needles to say we had a great deal of fun! read more

My first experience is unforgettable. However, yesterday definitely changed my mind, and I will not be returning to the Aspen store. I came in yesterday to get my winter hat. Had the best time as always, but as I was branding my hat, there were two sales personnel gossiping in the corner. Completely un called for and very unprofessional. It's a shame that this company would stand for that and allow the employees to gossip in front of the buying customer. I have never felt so uncomfortable that I actually speed my process up just to leave the store. Whoever the tall man and the girl with a nose ring should really undergo customer service class because of behavior like that gives the whole company a bad name. I recently purchased two pairs of boots from Kemo Sabe. The first purchase was a five star experience. My last experience was much different. I purchased the Kemo Sabe Nike Crocodile boots pictured in early October. The boots shipped but were untraceable and had no status with FedEx for two weeks. The boots arrived nearly three weeks after the order was placed. When I opened the box, it was immediately clear the boots had been worn. When I raised the issue with customer service, I was told the wear came from the boots being tried on in the store. In reality it looked as if they had been worn for much more than a try on. When these boots retail for nearly 3K (I got them on sale), I find it hard to believe that these boots are not worn on carpet until purchased. To date Kemo Sabe has not offered to refund my shipping or give me courtesy credit. In short, Kemo Sabe has some great products but is clearly lacking in customer service. Two stars. read more

Went to Aspen during the Wine and Food Festival, only to visit Kemo Sabe! Spent part of each of 5 days there designing one of each of the new pastel hats and two Gus hats! The owner siblings Wendy and Bobby are great! They have wonderful inventory: hats, boots, buckles, belts, clothes, LV purses and jewelry! They create a happy celebratory atmosphere. They have fun and bring their clients along. The staff is incredible, especially our friend and Personal Concierge Wrangler, Aaron! We were the first customers in Jackson. We've been to Vail, Park City, pop-ups in Ft Worth and Round Top and, now, finally, the Pilgrimage to the Flagship Store in Aspen! Thanks to everyone, we had a blast! read more

Love this place!! I've worn western hats and boots for most of my life. So I was right at home here. They offered me a whiskey, and answered all my questions! I didn't intend to buy anything and I made that known but it didn't stop them from helping me. After everything was said and done I ended up walking out with a great new Stetson lol. It's definitely my favorite hat I own now. Even had it personalized which was so cool. If you go in and you look at the cost of the hats just be aware that it seems expensive l, but if you wear them daily it's well worth the cost. I've been into Kemo Sabe a few times with the last being right before Christmas 2022. Even though the store was busy, that was expected given it was right before the holidays. This store tends to get busy during peak times so be patient and politely ask for some help once one of the designers is finished with their previous client. Kendall was exceptionally helpful throughout the whole hat building process. She had a great eye for color and was even able to brand a mountain onto the hat using a variety of branding irons. read more
