These guys are god awful when it comes to communicating and choosing more progressive approaches. The complaint starts with a notice in the mail stating that they sent a check in 2019 that still was not cashed. DO NOT sign up for Kemper Insurance‼Any money you will be saving, is not worth it!! I had an accident on 12/10. My van is still not properly been repaired. It was returned to me two weeks ago and I almost caused me to have another accident when the car pulled to the right and almost ran us off the road. I took it back to collision repair. They still couldn't find out what was wrong with it. I think the words they used were they were, "The mechanic is baffled". When they think they finally found what was causing it and repaired it, Kemper denied the claim and said they were not paying for it. They said when I initially filed the claim, I only reported left side damage. What I told them was the car went up and over the curb (which I hit avoiding a dog). There was left side physical damage that you could see but I told them that the front and rear on both sides needed to be looked at. Apparently, their appraiser and the collision repair center on their preferred list only looked at the front left part of the vehicle when there must've been damage elsewhere. 1. The rental car coverage is only $1200. I ran out a few weeks ago. They did not pay for the rental, I had to pay upfront and I am still waiting on a reimbursement check. They did not reimburse fees nor taxes so I am only receiving $880 of the 1200 that I paid. 2. They tell you you can take your vehicle to any repair shop to get it repaired. My preference is Toyota Collision. They told me that if I did not use someone on their preferred list, I would have to pay 80/20 which means they would pay 80% of the repair repairs and I will be responsible for 20%, like it's a doctors office! That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I took it to one of their preferred repair places and now I am getting a issue of them not properly preparing the vehicle. I contact the adjuster and she is like well it's between you in the shop. No ma'am! The insurance company and the shop need to work it out. Why is it my job? This is what insurance is for, to pay for repairs. They are on YOUR preferred list! At minimum, they should send the car to another shop so that it is completely repaired. 3. I have also not been offered a rental or a loaner vehicle. I have been several weeks without transportat ion. I've never had this issue with Nationwide, Progressive, or State Farm. I am trying to get this nightmare over with so I can cancel my policy and go back to one of these other companies. read more

I have full coverage insurance but yet they will not cover one pennie of the accident because we were on vacation in Mexico. Christopher Crowley is the worst adjuster! The only way I was able to get updates on my claim was by nagging him and he barley picks up the phone and NEVER calls back. He was extremely rude with a lot of attitude when I called. He would constantly tell me he is trying to move forward with the claim but absolutely nothing was going on for months. I had to contact a supervisor for my claim and got my car in the shop and a rental situated in just one day. It took Christopher Crowley forever. I also have to pay $555 up fron tand a $250 payment every week for a rental when i wsn not the one at fault. Got hit by Kemper client on 4/27/25, person did not even have a license. He was driving the parents car. He was from another country. He admitted he was at fault my car was towed. Cost me 400. 00 to get it out and have it towed to my home. After several calls to their adjustor finally got to speak to him. He stated the car was a total loss. Said he had sent his client a letter and left many message and they will not call him back. He asked for pictures and a accident report. I told him he can order that. Call them today received a call by from a lady that stated that they could not get in touch with their client. I couldn't find San Diego's Kemper franchise, so I'm writing a negative review on Texas's franchise. Seems like the entire company sucks at being an insurance company. If you're involved in an accident and you have to contact Kemper Insurance, try to not get Lucy Lazynova (Neydenova) or Emily Stoneshit(Stonestreet) as your claims representative. It took almost 2 weeks of calling them everyday and contacting front desk to get both morons' attention. Lucy called me when I was asleep, so I didn't hear my phone ring, and since then I've never heard from her. When Emily finally got back to me she told me that there's a policy limit since not only was my vehicle involved in an accident but another vehicle was also hit, so that company would be cover 3 vehicles. Two years ago I was rear ended. I called Kemper. Not sure if it was Kristin or a name similar. We are with Apollo Insurance Agency. I tried contacting her by leaving multiple messages. She returned my call once. I waited, then started leaving messages. I never heard from her again. So, I pursued the other individual's insurance company, American National Insurance Co. A representative answered, gave me his number where he could always be reached; and he always was there. I never had to leave a message. The driver of the other car was very evasive, however the ANI representative pursued the individual, and confirmed the damage to my car was done by his truck. Immediately ANI referred me to a body shop, paid for a rental car and I was not out any $$ or extended time in trying to reach Kemper. We are presently trying to get Kemper to cover another issue. Kemper would like the HOA to cover a leak with water damage that has occurred in a condo we own. The water leak is from another unit and we are again (not my choice) covered? by Kemper. I won't go into the details. It has taken several weeks and messages galore, they do not answer calls in a timely manner and finally...my husband was able to get a real person and not a voice mail today, and this nice young gentleman states the HOA CCRs should cover an inside water leak.....We are now digging up our CCRs so Kemper can get off the hook, again. I agree with Sean, Kim, Objoung, Maria, Stephen, Julius, Christina and all the others who have chosen Kemper as coverage.. I'd you have a problem with the adjuster the manger doesn't answer his phone nor does he return phone calls. They don't explain how they come up with their offers nor put them in writing. I had a Kemper claim and my body shop I work witih told me the no longer take Kemper and Alliance (same company) claims becuase their refusal to process supplements and pay. Awful, just awful. My wife and i have had Kemper for years for our home and 5 vehicles. We have had no tickets or accidents until Jan 2019. On Jan 16, another car pulled directly in front of me and we collided. The police report clearly shows that. The other driver had no drivers license, no I.D., and of course, he had no insurance. In Texas, the game is the owner gets insurance so he/she can license the car but the owner never drives it. If it's in an accident, the driver DID NOT have permission to drive so no insurance. What a sham! The police towed the car to the owners house since the driver had no license, gave the driver a ride home and left me on the side of the road waiting for a wrecker. Dallas is a 'sanctuary city' so I guess that's how it works if you're an illegal. So, my car is badly damaged, and I file with Kemper on my Uninsured Motorist coverage. The adjuster never got out of her car, told me it was a "total", etc. Then I received a nasty letter from Kemper saying that they only pay for 3 days storage. I received the letter on the 4th day. I paid the storage and paid to have the car towed to my house. After having a terrible time communicating with Kemper (lack of returned calls, mis-information, etc) I received a letter with a very low "total settlement" offer. I started researching and I could not find a comparable vehicle within 1000 miles for $1000's more. When I questioned the value, I get a professional report from CCC-One. They do these reports for many insurance companies. After months of no action, I paid to fix the car out of my pocket. I finally cashed their check because it wasn't a huge claim but now I'm out money, have a car that looks and drives great but has "Total Loss" on it's history report (after I was told over and over that would not show up that way). After all of those years and 0 claims, you would think they would at least return phone calls. So we now have 5 cars and our home with another company. Do not trust these people. They are dishonest, they have no problem with lying. If this had been a larger claim, I have no doubt that I could have won in court. The Texas Insurance Board does a poor job enforcing any decent standards. The 'uninsured driver' problem in Texas is awful. That's not Kemper's fault but I could not believe that I had to fight with my own insurance company. They won, I lost but they lost a great customer for life. read more

They will always send you on a game of phone tag to "talk to the right department" or "you need to get this this this and this to be considered for reinstatement" then when you get all those things they go "nope you needed this too and cuz you didn't get it even though we didn't tell you, you're SOL" Being put on hold by a CSR for a MINIMUM of 30 minutes is absurd, especially for something as simple as PAYING MY BILL. When you make the claim they take time to respond and when they answer you they want to give you as little as possible and if you want to take your car to a mechanic of your choice then they tell you that you have to pay your deductible plus 20 percent and in the end they don't want to pay you anything. As a body shop owner dealing with the Ajuster has been a terrible experience. Ajuster Olivia Key does not return emails or phone calls. Requested a supplement for additional damage. I Sent to the supplement email and to the Ajuster and 12 days later no response. I have asked for updates 3 times. I've contacted her supervisor. I deal with many insurance companies and by far this is the worst experience. My customer is changing insurance companies and is also filing a complaint. read more

Zero stars; absolutely horrible. I cancelled my policy the same day I started it because I did not actually buy the car I was planning to buy. They said my money would be refunded and policy would be cancelled and I just had to have an email sent to them by the dealership stating that I did not buy the car (which was done.) Then they never cancelled the policy, charged me and did not refund it, and when I called to get it cleared up they said they had no record of my calls and could not refund the money.
