Justin and Jason are excellent and have been keeping my car on the road. There is no pressure to do anything that I don't or have to delay doing. Upfront pricing, honest to goodness quality of work that last. Inspections are always smooth sailing. One rejection many years ago over bad tires, no sales pitch on buying tires directly from them, in fact did not even know they sold them. I recently went to Kemps for an inspection sticker. The gentleman who assisted me was rude upon arrival. I should have followed my instinct and left. Not only was he rude but unaware of mass laws. A clear license cover is ONLY illegal in Mass if it hinders viewing the license plate. He charged me an additional $10 to remove the plate cover and also mentioned he may not have the proper tool to remove it. he is a mechanic. You would think you would have the necessary tools. This man was so rude and I feel he took advantage of me. I also called the Registry and was told I was correct that if you can't read it it is illegal. i will never return to this station as they are unprofessional! read more

On 07/05/2022 I helped my 81 years old friend to bring her truck for annual Vehicle Inspection to Kemp's Service located in Pepperell. The truck was driven only 31 miles since previous inspection. Previous year truck passed the inspection with flying colors. This year mechanic found that "ds plate light, ds cab light, ebrake doesn't hold" After the inspection I went to two independent mechanics in my area to confirm that those problems really do exist. I have taken all of our vehicles to Justin @ Kemp's for their inspection for many years. He has always been great and we have never had an issue. Have also stopped by there without an appointment a number of times because I needed a tire plugged or windshield wipers replaced, etc and he always assisted right away with the repair or replacement and at a fair price. read more

I have gone to Kemp for my annual inspection sticker for the past 12 years. Never had a problem.

I went to Kemp's service station mounting new tire on my spare. Before going there I have called them and got the quote of $21 for mounting and balancing the tire with my own valve provided. When picking up the tire I was asked to pay $25. The extra $4 was for installing the valve I have provided!!! - pulling the valve through the hole is a 1 minute job, does not require any finesse or special tools. When I asked why the valve installation charge was not mentioned in the quote , the answer was "You never asked" !?!? The purpose of the quote given is to provide the customer the whole amount to be paid after the job is completed, so there are no surprises or hidden fees. Kemp's Service Station failed too do so. Do not go here if you want to pass inspection. This place needs to be investigated. I should have simply looked at the reviews before coming here, & stayed away. They gave me a rejection sticker for rot & then recommended I get it fixed by a specific auto body shop. I just found out today a friend of mine failed & was also referred to the same shop. They told me that a little kid is going to walk by my car and cut themselves on the rust on the bottom of my car. Stay away from this place! Took my car for a simple AC repair and recharge, $300. later the AC never really worked from the moment I picked the car up. I gave it a few days before calling them and letting them know the AC was blowing hot air! I stopped by on my way home and the mechanic tried telling me how complex it is to diagnose the problem, tried talking to me like I was stupid. I basically told him that I let my car to have the problem fixed the problem was not fixed so he wanted me to leave the car again to diagnose the problem again and perform more repairs. I told why would I leave my car with you again when you didn't fix it the first try? Then I proceeded to let him know that I am not interested in a trial and error type of car repair, replace one part see if it works......give me a break. I let him know straight to his face that he and Kemps Auto does not have any skill in auto repairs. He walked away from me as I told him he should give me my money back. read more

I've been using Kemps now for about 5 years to service our cars. There were a few times they had an opportunity to take advantage of a situation and do repairs that were unnessary, or more costly, but they took the high road and didn't. They did only what was needed, and have always saved us on repairs. Pricing is reasonable, and service is good. I would recommend them without hesitation. read more

He"s honest and reliable, and gets the job done right. Recently, I had my tires balanced at Sears and they told me I needed a new control arm, ball joint and alignment - approximately a $500 job, when it just needed a minor adjustment. I brought my car to Kemp's back in November for a front-end alignment. I got a call a few hours later from one of the mechanic's informing me that I needed ball joints and it would correct the uneven wear i had on my passenger front tire. I had them replace the ball joints, $440 later. I had someone else pick the car up while I was at work. Written on the bottom of the bill was "Needs front struts and R. Lower control arm replaced to correct castor and camber issue on right front. Est $870.00" I then purchased new front struts, springs, and control arms for both sides. I also went ahead and purchased rear shocks and springs, might as well do the rear if the front had to be done. I brought the parts to Kemp's and had them installed along with another alignment. When I picked the car up this time written on the bill was "P.S. front-on alignment best that we could do." After not one but two guesses by Kemp's the car is still not correct and hundreds of dollars later the problem is still not solved. I would never recommend Kemp's to anyone. They do not stand by their word when they tell a customer what will specifically fix their car. Worst experience with a garage. Save yourself time, money, and aggravation and take your vehicles to a reputable shop that stand's by their word. read more

Family run, small shop, but they do what they should for a fair price. Fast on inspections and were friendly enough to get my biz for some light work on a corvette and our other cars. I was impressed when they retested some used wheel bearings I bought 'em for installation and called me with the run-out numbers. Can't say for major work but for lighter, ordinary repairs and maintenance, I've been completely comfortable and satisfied with their help and will go back. read more

All vehicle owners dread it when they need to find a good, honest repair shop. I needed work on my vehicle and someone recommended Kemps so I tried them. I can honestly say that they are as honest and helpful as a shop can be. I took my truck in for some repairs and they called me and said they didn't think I should do the repairs because of rot that they spotted in the frame. I knew there was rust but they said it was to the point of getting dangerous. They didn't charge me a penny for their time and effort. The owner ,( I believe) who was at the front window, even called a friend who experienced this same problem with her truck and asked her how she dealt with the dealership from whom she bought it from. The owner then called me and made some very helpful suggestions. I was very impressed because this was way above what almost all shops do. I cannot highly enough recommend , Kemps Auto Repair! They have my trust and all my future car repair needs will gladly be given to them. read more
