A belated but pertinent and VERY positive review, and shout out, to Joe's Auto & (more specifically) Towing, to both the woman who answered my emergency call and to Andrew, the fella who saved the day, and evening, for me. On 11/7/20, I played 18 up at Butter Brook Golf Course in Carlisle. After finishing, I spent a few minutes talking to my Lexington-bound before he hit the road. It was near sunset at that point. As I walked toward my car a departing female employee walking toward hers asked if I owned the white 1998 Volvo up ahead. At that point, there were only three other cars in the lot--hers, another, and my Volvo. I nodded, and she said, "You're tire exploded!" I'm, like, huh? But, as I get nearer to my car, there it is--a flat right front tire. "Yeah," she added. "It just popped! We all heard it." Knowing I had a fully-inflated spare in the trunk, I told her I'd be on the road in less than five minutes. By the time she pulls out, I'm the only one left in the lot. I instantly discover that the single-socket 12" long lug nut wrench supplied by Volvo was ridiculously ineffective and despite heroic efforts I couldn't budge one wheel stud. Not. One. I had no leverage. I tried so hard I bent the damn wrench handle! So then I'm thinking, because I DO live in Dorchester and I DON'T know ANYONE in the Carlisle area, I'm...dead in the water. I make two quick phone calls to the nearest auto repair places, one has no tow truck, the other cannot help--no driver that day. I expand my search and dial up Joe's. A very pleasant and busy but patient woman answers and advises that their one tow person has "like ten calls going right now." I provide my phone #, my location and add that all I need is a one-minute pit stop: loosen five lug nuts. The woman says, "I'll see what I can do." Two minutes later my cell phone rings and it's Joe's tow truck driver, Andrew, an amiable kid who listens to my quick story and decides, on the spot, while driving to his next destination, "I'll be there in ten, you're in between where I am now and my next stop." Ten minutes later, Andrew wheels into BB-GC's parking lot just as the sun begins to set. Knowing what's needed, he hops out of tow truck, grabs the pneumatic air pump, and hits the studs. Then he wheels over a portable hydraulic lift, jacks me up and leaves me to handle putting on the spare while he writes up the bill. He replaces his pump and jack, hands me the receipt, agrees that Volvo's worthless lug nut wrench might come in handy as a paperweight, accepts my $20 tip, and zips out of the lot toward his next emergency. 1. The woman could've told me, "We're too busy." And hung up. 2. Andrew could've just blown me off, and never called. Both refreshed my belief in and of "paying it forward." My Dad was a mechanic. He taught me how to do the simple repairs that keep cars on the road. Over the years, I've probably pulled off road and helped at least a dozen or so people who were stranded on roadsides, either changing their flats or giving them a jump or, at the very least, getting them to where they were going to be okay. What comes around, goes around, folks. Do the right thing. It'll come back to you, and it'll go forward. My thanks to Andrew, and the kind woman who answered my call. Just had a tow from Joes booked through my roadside assistance company. Driver was super friendly and helpful. I wasn't with my car and figured everything was set after speaking to him but he went the extra mile to send me a pic of my car at the repair shop after he dropped it off. This shop, it's staff and services is by far the best I've had to rely on to fix my car. They're excellent service as well as more than fair prices are wonderful. They also are the AAA towing agents. I'm a widow who's husband always took care of our vehicles. My loving sons have always helped me with repairs. But they live over 65 miles away. They are very happy I have this auto shop to take excellent care of my car. I recently needed a new battery due to the freezing cold weather. I waited to call them on Monday thinking they might be swamped on the weekend. I checked with them to see if I was on their list to come to me. They had so many over the weekend. Saturday 100 calls for many battery problems. Sunday over 40 and my call to AAA was on their list. The manager said they had 40 calls Monday & I was among them. She couldn't tell me when they would arrive. I told her that if they needed to put me out for the next day that was ok. She asked if I was safe at home. I was!!! That's the kind of customer focused company they are. AAA kept me advised of the status all the time with many text messages. Their driver came around 5:30 pm. He installed a brand new Interstate Battery and also checked and filled my tires due to the extreme cold. I'm not related to any of the people that helped me. I've been a AAA member for over 30 years and had many service calls. They are by far the best total customer service company! read more

Joe is an amazing person, he is very reasonable with price as well. Always answer quickly. He will not make you do repairs your car does not need. We are very happy with his work as well. One time I had to get my car towed to his shop and I was stuck at work in Downtown Boston . He even offered me to pick me up from commuter station at Lowell. Wish other mechanics were bit like him. Joe and his team are the absolute best! My car overheated on my way to work. I called Joe, he came got my car and towed it to the shop. Unfortunately for me my waterpump needed to be replaced and because of the type of car I have (14 Ford Edge) this wasn't a simple job because the engine needs to be removed to get to the waterpump. Not only did Joe have my car fixed and ready to go within a few days but his price was unbeatable compared to other mechanic shops in the area. They have fast & friendly service and good prices. I called AAA and they send me one of the driver from Joe's Auto. Even though AAA agree to tow the car with dealer plate on it, the driver made an attitude and told me he need to call his boss. He went to his car and suddenly left without telling anythingbto me. It was so unprofessional. Will not use their services even through the AAA. read more

Awesome. Wish I could leave more stars. My wife and I were in Chelmsford visiting family. We are from Rhode Island, a 90+ miles away location from Chelmsford. My Escalade, All Wheel Drive, broke down at our hotel and I needed it towed by flatbed to to our home, 90 miles to Rhode Island. We contacted AAA at 10:30am on Friday morning. We received a call back from Joe's Towing approximately 20 minutes later. She verified our information and informed us that she was dispatching a truck immediately and we could expect our driver by 11:45 and a phone call from him upon arrival. (I'm serious, this is all true.) (Who is going to dispatch a tow truck for a potential one time customer for an out of state town on a holiday weekend no less!) The driver, Dave Elmore, pulled in right on time. He parked by my vehicle. Got out wearing a mask. He introduced himself and seemed genuinely concerned for our situation. He verified our AAA card/coverage and went over the destination for the tow. He said he had his GPS and was all set. Simply verified the location and made sure there was room to maneuver the truck as well as any other things that may make it an easier run. He was friendly and businesslike. I had special instructions for my ignition key/remote, (it is a bit too long and if not careful, it will break off), he was careful and took care not to break it off. He walked around my vehicle and made note of any damage, nothing to note. He loaded my vehicle as only a professional that cared about his job could. He used 4 points of chain for tie-down, (not nylon!) and with the winch, making it 5 contact points. Definitely professional. It would have been pretty tough, near impossible, for it to have come loose! A safe load. We had planned on waiting for him and following him, he said there was no need, he said we had been inconvenienced enough, wished us a good trip and sent us on our way. Said he would let us know when he was at our house. We wished him a safe trip. When he arrived at our house, shortly after we arrived, he hopped out, said hello, had me look over my vehicle to verify that it was in the same condition as when he loaded it. He then asked if there were any special instructions for unloading it where I needed it. He unloaded it exactly where Ineeded to be so I could work on it. We could not have been more satisfied. I have been in the Automotive repair business as a Technician, Auto Technology Instructor and businesses owner as well as having run a towing company for over 30 years and am now retired. I feel I am qualified to make an honest evaluation and opinion of this company and Dave. Without a doubt, they are AAA +. We have contacted AAA, the BBB and left other site reviews. If you need a tow, by all means call them and relax, they will handle it with professionalism, safety and in a timely manner. They obviously care about their customers, even a one time tow, one that they may never see again. To Joe's Auto & Towing and Dave Elmore, "We thank you for taking good care of us". It was pouring cats and dogs today and we got a flat. Called AAA. They sent Joe's. Joe's tow truck came quickly and the driver was awesome. He made sure we were in his truck cab safe and warm while he loaded our car onto the truck. He delivered us to our destination and checked on us to see we were OK. Where do I start!! Supermarkets opened @5:30 AM for seniors..thought wow, what a great thing..off I go. It's 6AM and heading home, must have hit a pot hole on tyngsboro rd (where there is major road work) pitch dark out go over tyngsboro bridge, yipes, something is wrong with my tire(s)?? Oh no..Pawtucket Blvd is NOT the place to pull over no no n o! Aha, there's Joe's Auto garage..I pull in call AAA (Joe's is AAA but not open...in the dark, rainy & snowy..scared silly..AAA arrives 45 mins later..no spare can't fix it..very nice man Pedro) i said I'd wait for Joe's to open..BEST decision I ever made!!...up comes Jason gets his brother over with the tow truck, calls the tire store arranges for my arrival..super, huh? It gets better, up pulls their cousin,Andrew, takes my groceries in his car, drives me home AND helps me bring them in (mind you my condo is on the top floor!..what a guy!! Then takes me to the tire shop too! Believe me I ABSOLUTELY love this family..they all went above and beyond!! I've been buying my car gas there since they moved to the Tyngsboro location...I will go there forever! Great business, compassionate young men, their respective families should be so proud of them. BEWARE. Extremely disappointed with the service that I received from this trucking company. I called them for a simple flat tire and now I have over 700 dollars in repairs due to the error of their driver. My car is in the shop for several days because the tow truck driver installed my spare tire backwards. I merely called AAA and was directed to this tow company. The tow truck driver changed the tire and then told me that he heard a noise when he attempted to move the car. He told me that the car was not able to be driven and he could tow it to the dealership. I was charged extra to tow it to the dealership. When the dealership mechanics examined my car, the mechanics told me that the damage to the caliper was caused by the improper installation of the tire. When I called the company, they initially appeared to be willing to pay for the damage. Now, they claim that they don't understand how the damage occurred. I am without a car until at least the weekend. read more
