This is an Ok little golf course in the middle of a suburb. I had no idea it existed but my…read morefriends brought me here over the summer. It's a 9 hole course that's really not that difficult to master. There are some holes that are a bit trickier than others but I think trying to find Amberwood was more difficult than the course! itself!!! The club house has a nice patio that overlooks the course and is an awesome place to lounge after a game. The prices of the course aren't the greatest in town but they're OK. Come by, hit 9 and come grab a beer afterwards. There are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

They have a lot of programs for people of all ages, children and seniors in particular. I actually didn't come here for anything fitness-related. I worked here for one day for a company that was holding a giant warehouse sale for one weekend only. The next day, I just came with my family for the sale itself. It was held in one really large room that seemed like some type of auditorium or gym, as it was really huge and cold, with the concrete tile floor. It hurt to stand on it for a long time, but then again, that's because I was standing in one spot. If this was, indeed, a kind of gymnasium, the floor would be perfect for running around and the cooler temperature would be a great advantage when you're working up a sweat.

They advertise a $3.99 breakfast on weekdays before 11am! Our Sunday, 2 egg breakfast with bacon, hashbrowns and toast was about $5.99 i think. Amazing. The view is fantastic. Looking right out on the Seaway and ships going in or out of the Iroquois locks. But... the poor waitress working that day was just frazzled. It was PACKED when we got there. My Mum said she's never sen the place so full before. Only two tables empty, and not even cleared yet. I think there may have been a wedding the night before in town as some of the customers where dressed up, but a bit ragged and we overheard some wedding chit chat. The waitress just couldn't handle the amount of people in there. We waited forever for our tea & coffee but were very understanding as the waitress came by and apologized several times. It was actually another customer that got up and started refilling everyone's coffees to help out (small town folk are just so nice). The food took a while to come as well. Maybe they have a wee tiny little kitchen back there? Not sure, because eggs and bacon don't take long. But I'm assuming they didn't have the space or the equipment to cook all the order simultaneously. No biggie. If the service was slow every time that would be a problem. But my Mum assured me that this was most definitely a hectic morning for the staff as that usually the service is very friendly and prompt. I saw 2 gaggles of geese about 200 yards out, but I can't hit a five iron that far, so they were safe (I said I was sorry when i thought I'd be close) It's located about 5 minutes off Terry Fox, next to the Thunderbird Golf Center as well, about a 2 minute walk if you want to hit a bucket before playing a round.

They have a 18 and 9 hole course here, I played the 18 hole course today. The pro shop is well stocked and the staff are all very friendly, and the marshals are hilarious and very engaging. Thanks. If you are driving around Barrhaven or Manotick and want a nice break on a patio beside a fountain, check out Stonebridge. Nobody will check to make sure you just played 18 holes on their course before they serve you. In the winter, they freeze the fountain/pool into a skating rink for a family skate brunch thing.
