Bumper cars super fun!
Clayton O.

Booked a Premium Birthday package for ten 7 year olds on the way to turning 8. On advice, booked in for an early (10:30am) on a summer weekend when it isn't supposed tonne too busy. Everything was great! The Funhaven-provided host was ready greet out group early and get the kids excited. Support staff was also great to direct any later guest arrivals to the group afterwards. I was the only parent attending, and really, it felt like the whole party would have gone just as smoothly without me. That being said, I got to participate in all the games and had a lot of fun too! Our schedule went greetings, super jungle gym, bumper cars, roller coaster, wind tunnel for Birthday person, laser tag multiple times, and then birthday time with pizza, cake, froyo, and then present time. All told, it went from about 10:30 to 1. The kids then got free reign of the arcade area and unlimited access to the bumper cars and jungle gym. We ended up staying until about 3:30 with everyone exhausted by the end. Overall, the value seemed more than reasonable for what initially seemed pricey when booking. The host service really made the party with jokes and stories and ensuring all had fun. A memorable experience for all, and a non-stress event for the host family. Would definitely recommend it. As the day progressed, the place got fuller and louder. Happy to have booked for an earlier party time.

Two things guaranteed to make me smile arcades and good food. On a recent trip to Ottawa I was in need of an arcade since Montreal is lacking. Opened up my trusty yelp app and boom this place came up in the recommendations. When we got here we had to fill up a card with tokens that could be used on the machines similar to many swipe card games you can find in a variety of places. Lucky for us helpers get a little something special once they check in here. Once loaded up we proceeded to walk around the space and see what games I would be taking down. There was good variety of games of different genres and difficulties which was nice and they even had an avoid the laser room and small coaster. I stuck to more arcade style games since I'm a sucker for coupons and prizes I was a little disappointed to see that a few of the games were out or order one in particular was the DDR machine but over all a pretty decent place not to far from home. The prize selection here was defo geared towards younger kids with prizes being mostly small toys and candies so if your looking for bigger prizes this might not be the place.

My kids love Funhaven. Games where you can earn tickets and redeem for prizes at the counter. They use cards which can be loaded very easily. For those games that still require tokens, they have machines where you can swipe you card and it dispenses tokens for you to use. Even your tickets get loaded back on the same card as credits which saves all the hassle of trying to keep them tickets all folded up and in a pocket. Most of the games are geared towards earning tickets so if you're looking for an arcade or lots of arcade games, you've come to the wrong place. Prices are also reasonable for the games. The space is also generous so you're not really always bumping into people. Other activities include a jungle gym, bumper cars, laser tag, mini bowling, and a rock climbing wall. Keep in mind these activities are geared towards younger children and pre-teens. There's also a small separate play area for toddlers so they don't get trampled on by the older kids. For these aforementioned activities, you can purchase each individually or purchase a combo and save a little money. Weekend rates for these activities are more expensive during the weekend. They also do birthday parties. The staff were great. I had some issues with a couple machines and they helped me out without question. Expect to spend a decent amount of money especially if you have more then 1 child. I think too that with the card system you tend to forget how much you're really spending. There's also a canteen where you can buy food and drinks. Parking is free if you can find it in the lot. The place shares its parking with the strip plaza so during weekends, I can see this being an issue. I'd definitely go back. http://www.funhaven.com/index.cfm

A little pricey but fun even for adults. The kitchen needs an upgrade on their menu. We had fun but we wouldn't go more then once a year.

I usually get their chicken strips with fries, and it NEVER sits well with me. Sure, they taste good, but after twenty minutes I'm running to the washroom to toss it back up. A friend of mine has had their wrap and quesadillas and even she agrees that there's just something about the food that doesn't sit right in one's stomach. Overall, it's a really nice restaurant space - the fireplace is a nice, cozy touch. The food, however, leaves a bit to be desired. Prices are decent though, and they accept student meal plan, which is why I'm not giving them 1 star out of five.

A bunch of wooden chairs were set up facing the stage, and Perez gossiped about celebrities for an hour or so, told us how he got to be a famous blogger, answered some questions, signed t-shirts, and dropped as many F-bombs as he possibly could. The bouncers were a little too serious for the nature of the event and the guest of honour. You'd think that they'd lighten up a little considering it was Perez Hilton talking and not a concert or anything, but at least they made sure to keep everything safe and fight-free. Food and alcohol are offered at the Observatory. They are fully licensed and offer Starbucks coffee and a decent selection of sandwiches, salads, pizza, pub-fare, and breakfast, all for affordable prices. For those of you that are Algonquin College students, you can use your meal plan here. They also have couches, TVs, and pool tables if you want to hang out and/or study. It's also available for private rentals when it's not being used for other events. Under their umbrella, there's a ton of fitness centres and wellness programs (like the Nepean Tennis Club!) under their "lifefit" heading. I had my first experience here in a summer camp when I was young, and then at a volleyball camp as a teen. As an adult, I appreciate all the clubs and sport leagues available. They also do training courses like CPR and First Aid, and have specialty classes like Fine Art which is cool. Their facility is a big one, and there's a ton to learn and see, so take your time and soak it all in. I'm a big advocate of checking out their website to see what might be of interest to your fine self. You can get an individual or family membership, and there's a lot of options, so if you get confused, maybe go in for a chat. The FieldHouse Bar and Grill is also a part of the centre and serves up breakfast, lunch dinner and snacks and drinks. There's also a sports shop that sells fitness gear like clothing, tennis rackets and they offer restringing which is helpful. They also have banquet and special event services as well as a massage and physiotherapy clinic! If you're looking to get active or make some new friends, this is an awesome place to check out. Also great for kids - they have a massive summer program!

The lobby is nice and welcoming and the signage is very helpful to get the guests to where they need to be in the building. The food the catering staff creates is top quality and their event staff must be on point as I've never attended an event where anything went wrong from the venue's perspective. They recently added a temporary extension off the front. I'm not sure what this building houses. It includes an enclosed walkway from the main building to the new temporary building. That walkway is a bit awkwardly placed and makes cab drop-offs and pick-ups somewhat difficult. It's not possible to see the full driveway and getting passed the temporary walkway is a bit of a squeeze in order to get to the cab drop-off/pick-up. But with all new things come a few bumps, so I'm sure they'll figure this out quickly.

Over the years they have changed, but currently the restaurants are Lago, Umbrella Bar, and Mexi's (aka Mexicali Rosa's). There's a paid parking lot nearby ($3.50 per 30 minutes up to a maximum of $14), or street parking ($0.25 per 6 minutes) a bit further away, or free parking on residential streets in neighbouring Little Italy (3 hour limit as per by-laws).
