Our HOA used American Backflow last month to test the backflow for our unit. Dylan came out to do…read morethe job and told my father who was there to let him in my home that "even if the backflow doesn't pass, we'll pass it anyways". Well, that's exactly what he did. The backflow then proceeded to leak for 5 days when my wife and I discovered water seeping up through our floors next to the utility closet. The backflow was leaking from the 2 check valves on top of the backflow that Dylan used to check the system. It was also discovered that he accidentally moved our drain for all the piping in that utility closet when he conducted his test which caused the condensation line from the condenser to leak into that closet as well. Dylan came back out that following Monday and repaired the 2 valves that were leaking, and a separate plumber (a friend of Steve Krebbs) came out to fix the drain issue. Dylan apologized for the water damage to our floors and admitted it was him that caused it and that Steve would call me to discuss paying for the damages caused by his employee. I waited for over a week and received no call from Steve. I called his office twice during that time and they assured me that he would be calling. He never did which shows what type of person he is. I called him after waiting that week and he is now saying they aren't liable for the damages and trying to pass the buck to my HOA for hiring his company. I have video evidence and pictures of the damages. Do not use this company.

SUMMARY: * Keith (the owner) and Adam (my technician) were…read moreboth wonderful. They both worked hard to resolve my situation. * They did excellent work and helped me when I was in a pretty desperate situation. * Their prices were very good compared to other companies. * I would give them 6 stars if I could. DETAILS: I chose to do an electric panel upgrade on my 50-year-old house. I did a lot of research about local electricians, and MZ Electric was one of the highest rated in the area. I got quotes from 3 different companies to compare prices. I met Adam (my technician) when he came to provide a quote. He said they try to have the person who gives the quote also do the work so their customers have continuity. I really liked that approach. After considering my 3 quotes I went with MZ Electric. Adam and his nice helper came within 2 weeks to do the work. It was a rainy day (which almost never happens in Colorado) so I assumed they would reschedule. Instead, Adam setup a small tent and did the upgrade. He said it would be about 5 hours without power, and almost to the minute the power was back on. Adam patiently answered all of my questions. They cleaned up the worksite nicely, and I happily had my new electric panel. About 4 weeks later, the electricity suddenly went on and off many times in a row. I freaked out! I immediately turned off the main breaker. Since I know a little about electricity, I turned on the power one circuit breaker at a time. What I saw made no sense. Some lights/plugs worked, others did not, and my stove reported a "bad connection" error. I immediately called MZ Electric. And if you're like me, you would assume MZ did something wrong when they upgraded my panel...but they didn't. Adam arrived within an hour (he left another job to help me). He was very nice and professional and said he was confident the work he did was fine and that something else must have happened. (I was very skeptical.) He ran tests to find out where the problem was and said it was one of the main conductor lines from my meter box. Adam called the owner, Keith, who also came out to help. They ran tests on the panel and the conductor lines to confirm the problem. Long story short...they were able to prove to me that one of the conductor lines went bad and it had nothing to do with the work they did. Keep in mind that conductor lines are buried 2 feet underground so the chances they could spontaneously break made no sense. Finally, Keith asked me if any other work was done that might impact my electric lines. I then remembered fiber optic cables had been installed underground 5 months earlier near my home. We finally determined that my electric line had been damaged at that time and it took 5 months to fail. Crazy, but true. Once they identified the problem, they gave me a quote to replace the underground lines, which I knew was expensive based on the original quotes I got. They temporarily rewired my electric panel so I had some electricity until they could replace the lines. Keith was very understanding and not only gave me a good price but also pushed me up in their schedule to get the work done. They did an excellent job and cleaned up the worksite very nicely. Within 5 days I had full electricity back. Adam and Keith and their nice helper got me all fixed up and were very fair on price even when I was in a desperate situation. I think shows real integrity and great customer service! I would absolutely use MZ Electric again and I would happily recommend them to anyone. Note: In the picture, Adam is the young man on the left.

He replaced the light fixture in my walk-in closet and checked the switch which wasn't working and repaired it. He also checked my circuit box and the kitchen and found no problems. We experienced hail damage to our 1980's brown bubbled skylights. We were so excited to be able to get new updated clear skylights. I did lots of research looking for the right company to do our repairs. We found Skylight Specialists and decided to give them a call for an estimate quote for our insurance company. I spoke with Josh Ewing. He was very knowledgeable about the products, product options, and provided us an estimate for our insurance company quicker than expected. We decided to go through Skylight Specialists and Josh Ewing got everything handled and got our materials on order. Mike called once all the materials arrived to schedule but unfortunately our HOA decided to replace the roofs so it put our skylights on hold for a couple of months. Skylight Specialists were amazing with holding on to our materials and being patient while we waited for the roof to be replaced. Once the roof was replaced, Mike setup the install for us. Kenny and Devin arrived promptly even earlier than expected which was awesome and they completed the job sooner than I had expected. The quality of the materials, the installation, and customer service received during this whole experience was top notch. Thank you Skylight Specialists, Josh Ewing, Mike, Kenny, and Devin for all of your hard work and making our home look amazing with these gorgeous skylights. We love the clarity and the amount of light they let in. If your looking for new skylights, I highly recommend Skylight Specialists.

HOWEVER- I arrived at the final walkthrough at the scheduled time, and they were still not done clearing out their supplies. This was okay and I assumed more work would be done. When I returned to my home later that day I was appalled. There was brown liquid spilled on the cabinets and floors, paint spilled on the floors, stairs & countertops, outlet covers missing (still not found), painter's tape still stuck to the walls & baseboards, and sunflower seeds littered across EVERY single floor in the house (including the in the carpet and the bathtub). I am shocked at the way the house was left and how sloppy this was. This was not the condition that it was supposed to be left in. I had a showing the next morning so had to spend over 3 hours cleaning it. I contacted the manager about it and received a $275 discount. They did offer to come back over and "take care of these items" but I had no time to let them come back so I had to take care of it myself. For how much I paid to for this to be done I expected way more from this company. I will not be using this company again.

Their tech came to our home last week (once he…read morefinally got around to showing up on the second day after he was scheduled to arrive) to perform what I expected to be warranty work on our AC since they installed it in 2020. He very condescendingly informed me that the leak was coming from our evaporative coil but "they didn't install that evaporative coil" so it wouldn't be covered by the warranty. If I wanted the evap coil replaced, it would cost me $3500. I thought that was pretty strange -- that they would install a $7,000 AC in 2020 but not install a new evaporative coil with it? Hmm.... Needless to say, I didn't have him do any work since nothing was going to be covered by the warranty. Next, I called Signature Heating & AC (they were recommended here in Nextdoor). Their tech informed me that the evaporative coil in my home was manufactured in 2017. Since our previous AC unit was installed in 1998, Summit HAD to have installed the evap coil. I ended up having Signature Heating recharge our AC. After thinking about it over the weekend, I contacted Summit and told them that I found out they lied about the evap coil and told them I was considering legal action. Only then did Summit "look over their paperwork again" and admitted to installing the evap coil. Now they say they are willing to honor the warranty and will only charge $1260 in labor to do the work - which would be great if I hadn't already paid $767 to recharge our AC system! Too bad they weren't honest from the beginning. Not only that, but the Summit tech forged my name to the diagnostic invoice. Also, to find the refrigerant leak in the first place, the Summit tech told me it would cost me $1100 for a pressure test. But when the Signature tech arrived, he used a refrigerant sniffer to locate the leak at no charge. I highly recommend Signature Heating & AC. Quentin (Signature) spent a lot of time explaining what was wrong with our system and gave us some options. I didn't feel like I was being lied to, up charged and taken advantage of.

Every time I would ask him questions about the housing market it all went back to him talking about himself and what he was going to buy and invest in rental properties. We started looking at houses and he tried pressuring me into every house we looked at it seemed he was desperate to make a quick commission off of my hard earned money I saved my entire life to buy the perfect house I was looking for. Tim wanted me to buy a house that I didn't even want and he wouldn't stop pressuring me and just wanted to make a quick sale for his commission. Another issue is he had a Bluetooth in his ear the whole time and was talking to other clients and he kept talking to people about the HOA board he was on and he went on and on about it with whoever he was talking with, you would think that the customer would come first and trying to find the right house for the customer rather than talking about an HOA he is on .Very unprofessional and I would not recommend him or his company to anyone! I found another real estate company and they were awesome and I found the house I was looking for and is now under contract.
