this place is amazing, the owner is so nice! I love the hotel and the fact that they are adding a bakery.

It is cozy -- clean with a great ambience. We were excited to try it, but the food and service…read moredidn't match the atmosphere. Our small order took a long time, and guests who arrived after us also waited quite a while. It may be a staffing issue, but the woman working in the kitchen didn't seem to have the timing needed to keep up with even a light lunch crowd. The special barbecue sandwich and tacos looked great but lacked seasoning, almost as if the meat wasn't seasoned and the condiments were meant to carry the flavor. Sides were okay. One suggestion: the dish drop‑off area has a garbage can with a lid you have to lift, which isn't very sanitary. The place has potential, and with improvements to seasoning, timing, and a few small details, the experience could be much stronger.

It's good and wholesome food! I've eaten here many times. My favorite is the salmon fritters. The…read morechicken soup is so hearty with all sorts of veggies in it, even brussels sprouts sometimes!! The chicken and berry salad from the grab and go fridge (with the creamy herb dressing option!) has a decent portion of yummy, lean chicken breast and it's packed full of good leafy greens. The Boone burger is also another great option for good protein--it's big. I wish they were open every day. I just know I feel good after eating this food---I have steady, non-crashing energy and I don't get hungry later. It's hard to find

Picqued by the sight of a large grill with carne asada being kissed by flame and throwing off that familiar grilled meat that a caveman like myself appreciates, I stood in line and forked over the dough for 2 tacos. Bear in mind I am a native Californian and have interfaced with many a taco truck and the many interpretations offered, so perhaps my standards of what a taco is might be higher than most in Alaska. The tacos were presented as most tacos are presented; on a non descript paper plate with the obligatory napkin. They were dressed with a green style salsa, onions y cilantro, and nada mas. I mean, what else is needed? Grilled onions on the side, maybe some sliced avocadon top to really send it home. But alas - that wasn't offered. The tacos themselves were not something to write home about. Mediocre at best. But, if you've been in the Alaskan bush for a week without access to electricity and running water, these would probably be considered not too shabby. The grilled carne was not too sabor, the tortillas warm and limp, but at least the onions and cilantro did their part as much as they could do considering everything else. I'm willing to give them another chance but i would have to be super hungry, unwashed from living off grid, and not have to wait in line.
