I live in Coos Bay and for the past three months, I've been telling my local car repair shops that there's something wrong with my transmission. Everybody says "no, you're making things up. ". Today, on my way to Eugene, my transmission gave out. I called Kendall Acura from the road, and they told me to bring it in. The news was what I expected, and I spent the last three days looking at new cars. In the meantime, I was worried that I'd left my old Acura at Kendall. They were totally supportive. Come on and agreed to hold the car for a few days on their lot. Both of the service reps Were smart, funny and knew how to make my frustrating day a bit better. Time Beware! I was on time for my car to have its oil changed I was told it would take one hour. Now I've been waiting for 2 hours and was informed it was going to take another 40 minutes! And they could have driven me over to the bookstore... it's totally rude to let customers waste their time. I will not come back here. read more

One of the very few drawbacks to owning a new Acura if you live in Bend, Oregon is there is no Acura dealer on Bend's east side of the Cascade mountains. So the good news is Acuras don't need much in the way of service. The bad news is if you need service covered by warranty you have to drive to the other side of the Cascades. BOTTOM LINE - TOP NOTCH SERVICE: We have a choice of Acura dealers on the West side of the mountains, including a a couple in Porltand and Kendall Acura in Eugene. We chose Kendall for this first service on our car mostly for convenience of saving us 90 minutes drive time each way. Based on this first visit, we'll go back to Kendall again because of the top notch customer care and car care we received. SERVICE ADVISOR: Special nod goes to service advisor Erwin Escobar who did a great job of setting up the appointment, met us at the door (even greeting my husband by name) and having a loaner car...with only 36 miles on it...lined up for us. Erwin also stayed in touch with us during the day for status of the work. And when we went to pick up the car, Erwin once again greeted us at the door, then drove our car (which Kendall Acura folks had washed for us too) right up to the door and had paperwork ready to hand over. Some good service skills are taught, and supported by the company's "customer first" culture. But some good customer skills are simply innate. Erwin is so good at his job that we'd guess both are in play. MECHANIC: Something we like very much about Kendall's service set up is once your vehicle has been in, the same mechanic is assigned to work on it each time. We consider a mechanic a partner in our vehicle's "good health" so we're delighted to have the same one each time. LOANER POLICY WE'D IMPROVE: One thing we'd change about Kendall's policy, is that they do not guarantee a like for like loaner. That is, if you take in an MDX, your loaner may be, as it was for us, a TSX. One of their Portland competitors guarantees like for like loaner as part of their service. read more

On the way home from California the alternator died on my wife's MDX. It was a Sunday so had it towed and left it at Kendall. We got a hotel room and called the next morning. We have never made any car purchase here so my review is based solely on services received. I used to have a 2004 TL that I would bring in here all of the time, and they were great and I felt they were honest. One time my check engine lights were on after getting bad gas at Fred Myers, and it was premium I might add, the mechanic told me all that was wrong was a case of bad gas and just run a fuel cleaner in it and use a good gas station like I normally did. It ran great after that. We sold that car and now have a newer TL and purchased it some where else and I was needing an oil change and I had a coupon for the other place which was a $5 difference, but that was not including my drive time as well as my gas money getting there. The service is excellent here but my only complaint is that they don't hand wash your car. The place I purchased my car, they hand wash. I have a black car. I have taken one of my other vehicles in the car wash here over the years and there were scratches. So I didn't let them wash my car. They did how ever vacuum it, which was very nice and much needed. The 4 star is because they don't hand wash. Service has always been great. read more

I'm not a fan of big-dealership prices but when it all boils down to it, sometimes you have to pay for convenience or brand-name parts. I've never had much done aside from a few oil changes and a check-up for a time my mechanic was perplexed at what may have been happening, oh and that time I bought the car from Lithia but they can't work on Acuras (yeah, really) so they had to send it to them... Each time, the customer service folks are exceptional, they try to get you in and out without making you feel like you're troubling them by being there. They also don't make you feel stupid for fumbling with words, I drop things off early morning, my brain tends to kick in around noon these days! Their parts department is great. The couple times I've needed a random part for my car they've been able to get it for me quickly and only at a slightly gutting price. What can I say, I'll pay out the butt for a part if it means I don't have to deal with the foul attitudes at most of the auto-parts places in this area. I take care of my car, I'm sorry I'm a girl, I'm sorry I don't know exactly what I need every single time! Kendall at least keeps their judgements to themselves and can figure out my "thing-a-ma-jig that goes on the wheel thingy that covers that other thing?" without being jerks in the process. I'm not a fan of the paper-work they give you back with all the suggestions after an oil change but I know that's standard practice. At least they don't insist on going over it line by line and pushing a hard sale, that's nice. I'd rather have it in writing and I can skim it to see if there's anything I actually agree with or can look into later just in case. read more

The worst service! I spent over 600.00 dollars and 2 weeks later my car wouldn't start. I discovered a screw between the clamp and the post on my battery. The other side was also loose, so I had to tighten that side. After a tow truck giving me a jump and having Les Schweb put on new clamps I was off to Acura. I was informed by the manager that they have done this before. Why would you use a screw and not tell the customer? Were they hoping I would have it towed in and then be able to charge me for things that I didn't need? I wanted reimbursed for the money I spent 2 weeks ago, they offered store credit. I've been to the stealer twice for service. They are completely overpriced. I will never take my car to be serviced by them again. I now take it to the Acura dealers in Portland. And I save money. I gave them a list of items to take care of and they maybe fixed 60% of them. Hell, everyone has a bad day, so I took my car in again... Well $1200 later they still hadn't fixed the items on my list... Although, they did do a bunch of other stuff that may, or may not have needed service. I don't trust this dealer and will never take my car in for servicing to Eugene. I live in Bend, so we have to travel to get our car serviced. The Kendall company also completely ruined the local Honda dealership here in Bend when they bought it. Beware of the Kendall name... I guess? read more

I went into Kendall Acura - Eugene - and was completely ignored - when I found a salesperson he told me he thought I was in "for service". Guess that's why I was ignored! He never did introduce himself to me and never asked why I was there. I called the dealership to report my experience to the "manager - Matt". All he could say was this experience was not normal - I would think he would have gone to some effort to invite me back and that I would be taken care of- I actually have money to buy a new car but will now go to Portland/Seattle to do this - too bad I have to go out of the local area if I really want an Acura!
