Before my husband and I won her "FIRST EVER WEDDING GIVEAWAY!" (yay!) we had already decided to have her as our photographer! Looking through her previous photos, whether they were fashion shoots, engagement sessions, weddings, maternity sessions; you could tell that these pictures were taken by someone who not only LOVED her job but was absolutely FANTASTIC at it. Tonhya's excellent at scouting shooting locations. I had lived in Olympia for most of my life and had never thought to take pictures in the locations she chose. Of course, they all turned out perfect! Our sessions with her were so wonderful. Tonhya has a very comforting approach; warm, friendly, and very professional. She never made us feel stiff or too posed. Making us smile, laugh and show our love came very naturally for her as she easily created these beautiful moments and captured them for us to remember forever and ever! Tonhya is one of the best photographers I know. Tonhya was recommended to my husband and I through another photographer friend, and the moment we met her, it was like love at first sight! Her photography, from the way she captures the height of a moment's happiness, to her photo editing (as if her photos need editing; they are fabulous straight off of her camera!), and to her warm & friendly personality, is the kind of photography that should come from an artist with a lifetime of experience! We booked Tonhya for our engagement shoot and our California wine country wedding. She was so delightful to work with, and always made Matt and I feel at ease and actually... we felt quite glamorous! She makes her photo shoots a blast to be a part of, and the photos really capture so much emotion. I love to look at both of our engagement shoot and wedding photos because her photography allows Matt and I to truly relive those moments. She really puts us at ease, and loves going on photography adventures - like romping around the Seattle Center with us for our engagement shoot, or when my brand new husband and I climbed a little hill in between two trees (yup, in my wedding dress!) to capture an amazing photo... we'd pretty much do whatever Tonhya asked us because that level of trust we had was HUGE! And it was always worth it, because the photos are soooo awesome! Tonhya really did become our friend and out of all the wedding vendors, she is by far our favorite one, and the one we connected with the best. This is CRUCIAL in planning a wedding, because we believe that the photographs are the most precious things we have, and for wedding, are absolutely priceless. To have such a high-quality photographer who is excellent at what she does, and has such a friendly personality, is clutch. Tonhya is ridiculously awesome. Oh - and Tonhya really does capture every moment! She isn't one of those photographers who skimps on how many photos she gives you (and believe me, there are some stingy photogs out there!). And the photos she gives you aren't many multiples of the same pose - she really captures every moment, and that is a feat in itself that she accomplishes well. Hope and Memory Photography recently completed a shoot for our childrens dental office and have to say it was the most efforless photoshoot ever! I have done my share of photo shoots in another lifetime and I know the extent to which photographers can go to get the 'right shot' and how many pictures they take to get the ONE. Sarah's session was such a breeze. We literally wrapped up in 15 mins and a few days later I had the photos in my inbox! After that, we scheduled a meeting. Liz is just the best; friendly, fun, and lives a very cool life. She's exactly the kind of person you want to share such an intimate/special day with. Side note: we did not use Liz for our engagement photos, as we had the family member take them, but in retrospect, I would recommend all couples do so. Why? We got married in Wicker Park and knew we wanted some photos around the neighborhood, but other than that we were very vague. The spots she chose and shots in each place went above and beyond anything we had imagined. She has been working with a mentor who is teaching her different techniques all the time.
