I am disappointed in Kendall's. We were a party of three and split the bill for food. We all questioned the drinks but I just gave credit card and the other two pushed and got all liquor removed from their bills. My bill was more than double and we ate exact same food and I had less to drink. I thought it was super crappy to run my card at full amt and discount the other two significantly. You could have offered me a gift card to make it up but I didnt even get an apology. I'm guessing if their bill was wrong mine was too. I guess being complacent is on me but the manager had to see the look on my face. Needless to say I will not be campaigning for a future happy hour there. Kendall's overlooks a golf course so provides for some nice scenery and people watching if you're into that sort of thing. Food-wise, nothing really stands out as exceptional but nothing was too bad either. For my main, I opted for the ribeye and while it was not bad, it definitely wasn't a home run by any stretch of the imagination. I'd maybe even venture to say the carrots were the star of the plate - which is both not good and not bad if that even makes sense? Kendall's is a fancied up bar-type venue, but there is nothing wrong with that as long as you're not expecting a true chophouse experience per the name. read more

This place is a hidden gem in coon rapids at the golf course. I ordered a dirty martini which most places don't have blue cheese stuffed olives but they did. The chicken wild rice soup was flavorful and a reasonable portion . First time here after looking for a restaurant close to an event I was at in Andover. Service was a bit lacking. We got one set of silverware and one menu for our group of four. Our server was not quick with drinks or to take our order despite it being pretty slow. Food was good, but then our server disappeared after we ordered another round of drinks. Wedding party came in while we were eating and it was so incredibly loud we couldn't hear anything. Noticed our server was gone and we were told he went to work the wedding party. This place is extremely inconsistent. I've been there about six times in the last year and we've never all had a good experience until our visit on December 22, my wife tried the fish and chips and I had the chicken strips. The table next to us had the same thing and it looked really good. We also ordered a giant pretzel for an appetizer but we never received it. The waitress took it off the bill but this was the best food experience we've had at Kendall's. I've always liked the atmosphere I just haven't had a good meal until then. So, I went back a week later my wife and I got the same thing much smaller portions the fries were old, the chicken tenders were over cooked and dry. Go for the outdoor deck ambiance, not the food. To be fair they tried to make it right, but fell short. The first item I ordered was a Tanqueray and Tonic. The tonic was flat, they brought 2 more each as bad as the first. The claimed they used bottled tonic... it must have been opened and old. Then came the sirloin. It's a "chop house, but only offers 3 cuts of beefsteak. My waitress forgot to ask how I would like it done, so I had to flag down someone to run interference. I asked for medium, it came quite well done. I grazed on my 1 onion ring for 4 dollars extra. they brought another whole dinner. I have to say the meat was not memorable. My friend had the salmon which she said was fine. We shared a creme brûlée which was good. I would go back for the view, not the food. read more

I have had the honor to eat in a lot of great restaurants. Sadly this was not one of them. I waited approximately twenty minutes before a server had seen me, then once I had ordered my food and stuff it took even longer for the food to come out. I did ask why the food was taking so long but was really confused when they said they were just busy back behind on orders. They were not. It was a Monday evening around brunch time and as my food came I could tell it had been under a heat lamp for a long time as someone who works in this type of industry. I ordered the bacon and eggs with a coffee, the coffee was ok, but everything else was dry and a little burnt. I do not think I would come back, the service was not great, and for someone who would be a little hesitant reading the reviews before they go as I was, I would maybe consider another brunch place before spending your money here. read more

We ordered the tavern fries and cheese curds to start. The fries were good and came with some good dipping sauces. The cheese curds were a good size but the batter was gross. Crunchy, dry, and tasteless- reminded me of a baked fish crust or something. We also had the grilled peach chicken salad. For a menu that pushes wood fired rotisserie chicken, I was really disappointed. There was maybe 3oz of chicken on the whole salad and barely any goat cheese. The grilled peaches were slimy and there was so much red onion I had to pick some out. The potato was good, but really, a restaurant that messes up potatoes should be closed. My wife said her stroganoff was delicious. For dessert I ordered the lava cake and my wife ordered a blueberry jar custard thing. That came out looking and amazing and tasted amazing. (5/5). The lava cake came out in a cup with a cup of ice cream. Presentation was trash (0/5). A three year old could have come up with something more appealing. The lava cake was overcooked. No "lava" in it. It was basically a brownie. When I brought that to our servers attention she simply said, "oh, that's too bad..." and walked away. Never offered a solution. Never offered to have it remade. Never offered to have it taken off the bill. Nothing. Very poor service. Can't say I'd recommend based upon this experience. read more

Dinner at Kendall's was my payment for a week of dog sitting for friends. It seemed like a fair deal. It's a nice little dog. And my dinner was good. I had fried cheese curds, New England clam chowder, and beef short ribs lasagna. I got to try samples of 2 other dinners - also good. The service was good. I was apprehensive because the place was so packed. But the service didn't suffer. Service was spot-on. It was busy as hell. There's no way we would have gotten in if we didn't make reservations. However, we were a bit disappointed on Valentine's Day when their website mentioned a dinner fir two that included a choice for dinner and included dessert. But when we got to the restaurant, the prices were now based on the meal selection and the dessert had to be split between my wife and I even though the price for the dinner was 'per couple'. The manager did set it all right, but it didn't seem right that we had to 'fight' for what their website implied. Still going back though. And still recommend this place. read more

We eat at Kendall's fairly frequently and we usually sit at the bar. It always feels welcoming and relaxing. The food was good as usual. But the bartender (Jo) and the server (Grace) made us feel like we outstayed our welcome when they started deep cleaning the bar at 8:00 pm. I understand being tired and wanting to go home, but you probably shouldn't say that repeatedly in front of customers as you are continuing ripping the bar apart and putting away cocktail ingredients. There were numerous customers entering as we were leaving. Please ask them to start the cleaning process closer to bar close. read more

My bride and I have been here twice. Here are the positives and the negatives. Positive: the food is freshly prepared and tastes good. It has good flavor, and they offer a nice selection on their menu. The dining room is large. It overlooks the golf course. Negative: for the amount of food you get, Kendall's is pricey. Both times I've been there, I'm disappointed in the amount of food you receive, the lack of meat, the lack of sides. The service yesterday was slow. Our server took a very long time coming back to get our order. That was very disappointing. The bar was completely packed - hard to believe the place could be so busy for a Monday. I would recommend that Kendall's beef up their serving sizes, and/or offerings. Maybe offer some side with an entree, even as simple as a side salad or a french roll, so you feel like you're getting what you pay for. read more
