Apparently I wrote a review 10+ years ago that I don't remember writing. That said, my review was pretty spot on! While I was mostly studying and writing when I wrote my first review, I'm now more interested in some of the kids activities that the library offers. The staff that runs those is great and we've had a blast. It's amazing how far library technology has come and the absolute rapid speed with which I can come in, pick up an item, and check myself out is mind boggling. This is a great local library with great events and solid technology making the experience enjoyable and easy.

I'm so happy that the libraries are reopening! They're doing it slowly,, currently just doing curbside pickup and allowing for returns. Books can only be picked up at the library branch currently in possession of the book you want. This is how I ended up at the Kenmore branch. I called to order the book I wanted. They gave me a pick up time and explained the process. Once arriving at the library you'll see a set up similar to what all the restaurants are using. Once at the window, with your library card and ID, they give you your book in a bag. There were 2 people working and they were both friendly and helpful. This branch has covered parking in the back which I'm sure would be nice on rainy days. Can't wait for the doors to actually open to allow for browsing!

I like Barbie, but Barbie likes Kenmore. Over the years there have been more and more great businesses popping up in Kenmore, however, the police are still trigger-happy and unfair and in some cases fascist, and they're everywhere, and there is definitely a mixed atmosphere in the village between accepting and friendly liberal people and extremely conservative and white power type people, and if you hang out here long enough you will have very distinct experiences with both factions of people. People don't realize what an extraordinarily right wing area Western New York is. It's very depressing. As I've said before, though - I love Kenmore! La Divina (the new authentic taco place on Delaware) gives me an extra reason to come down here, plus one of my BFFs works here, so I'm here usually once a week. It's a lovely, leafy suburb. It loses a point because the cops are really intense, and will pull you over for any given thing, especially at night. It's honestly a real nervous hassle driving through here because of all the police stops, and it's such a safe area that I feel it's overkill and unneccessary. It would be nice to see that kind of police presence in high crime areas of WNY, but there simply isn't. Other than that, I'm a huge fan of Kenmore. Other than La Divina, there's good pizza at Mustachio's and a great Salad nearby (Pie O Mine Greens). And also do not miss a burger at Vizzi's while you're up here.

The Kenmore library is a large and spacious library with lots of places to sit and get work done, from tables and chairs to the numerous PC workstations. The building itself looks a little dated, and I would be interested in seeing if this was once a government building. It's the only library I've been to so far where the parking is like a single-story parking garage, that I presume the second story of the library is covering. You enter the library from the lower level and there is a meeting space down there and some offices but not much else. You go up a flight of stairs or take the elevator. Upstairs is everything else, there's a large kids area with play space, as well as a big section of "information" pamphlets on local services. Although the library is large, I could hear the kids slamming blocks and talking from the other side of the library, so noise carries throughout. If you don't need quiet, come here to work as I said, plenty places to sit. The library seems to have very large collections, and the bookshelves are well labeled with the call number prefixes, but not every section like cooking, travel, etc) are labeled. There's a large local history section including volumes on each town in Erie county as well as some on specific WNY Topics, such as wars, architecture, presidential history, railroads, etc. They have the largest mystery collection that I've ever seen, it takes up almost the entire back wall!!! They also have a large reference section. The magazine display could look prettier, other libraries have one of each standing up, this one has them stacked with labels beneath. Large selection of computer, travel, and exam books that are labeled. Would come back to browse as they have a ton of books here.

Not the biggest or the prettiest library in the Erie County system, but it's a got a decent fiction section, impressive movie and TV section and a manageable kid's section. Plenty of public computers (including 3 for kids). Well curated feature books section based on current events, holidays and locally relevant topics. Two public bathrooms. Copy machines. Several work tables. Decent selection of audio books and a graphic novel section. I haven't had a lot of interaction with the staff, but so far they've been pleasant and knowledgable. Covered parking makes entry and exit much easier in winter.

    Great children's section

The Kenmore Library has become a new library for me. There is parking!!! I tutor a 3rd grader and the children's book section is excellent as is the hands on areas that they have for children.

Library fun while waiting for big sis' to get out of dance.

He's recognized as one of the most distinguished American painters. Charles Rand Penney was a Buffalo native who donated his collection of Western New York Art, including 183 works by Charles E. The Burchfield Penney functions as a gallery and a museum, serving as an institution affiliated with the Buffalo State University. For this reason, many events are related to education and personal development. It is worth checking what is happening and which events align with your individual needs and interests. Either way, it is definitely a place worth visiting. It's New York's first green museum certified by the U.S. Green Building Council's (LEED) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. It's a two-story open and bright space, pretty great to be honest :). On the second Friday of every month, admission is free. "Be ready for special events, music, workshops, happy hours and more!" It's also free for Burchfield Penney members, Buffalo State University Students, Faculty & Staff, United States and Canada Active Military and their families, United States Military Veterans, ASI Arts Access Pass holders, and children and teens under 18 years old.

However, this has not directly impacted students as of yet. Approved classes being offered are dwindling, but each department has their strengths and weaknesses. I had no issue getting courses to complete my Communication and Business degree due to some finagling with my department chairs. If I did not have that relationship, I would not have been able to fulfill both my degree paths. In addition, I was a transfer student, and it was not completely explained to me that I would have to take 2 religion, and 2 philosophy courses on top of fulfilling all of the capstones. That information should be communicated far better than it was, as I am still writhing because that cost me an additional $20K. I guess that is why the gentleman that put my transfer package together is no longer with Canisius. Overall, most of my professors were stellar; specifically Dr. Dahlberg, Dr. Braunscheidel, and Dr, Haselswerdt. As well, I loved all of my courses with Prof. Nancy Lynch, Prof. Rick English, and Dr. Foster. Having those amazing educators/professors on staff saved me from transferring again after an initial disappointing semester with a few adjuncts and tenured staff. I can only speak with ethos to the Communication, Business & Political Science Department, but if you are thinking of attending Canisius in one of those concentrations, do it. As well, the Athletic teams are stellar. I even did crew for a bit, but found I did not have the time to dedicate to it. So, if you are thinking of attending Canisius for athletics. Definitely do as well. As well, take Business Ethics PHI242 (it fulfills a business & philosophy requirement, but also the ethics attribute) with Dr. Sean Donaghue-Johnston (he is an adjunct, but let me tell you, and amazing one). He's absolutely fantastic, you'll learn a lot, and expand your mind a bit, which never actually hurts :) I've taken one star off for the transfer process, and the $ issues, but feel I received a stellar education due to the folks I mentioned above. Go Griffs!!

All I said in my last 2 posts is I was disappointed in the university's speeches for the graduation that we attended a couple weeks ago. I feel politics has no place in a commencement speech. Parents are there to support their kids and watch them graduate. It is not up to the university to push its opinion on the attendees.
