Long overdue review. I moved to the area two years ago and was so grateful to find Dr. Mulvaney and team. They have been so kind to my crazy reactive little min-pin (IFYKYK) and I have yet to have even the slightest negative interaction with any of their team. My dog, Roger is 11 and his health is starting to show signs of aging. Dr. Mulvaney has been so calm and reassuring with everything and continues to look out for what's best for my pup. If you want to come drop off a pet for an appointment and be met with a closed business, come here! I came here to get my cat spayed in 2020 mid pandemic. The vets were wonderful, so I came back. In January, I moved to Arizona and had to leave my cat with a friend temporarily while I found a home. I scheduled an appointment, brought her and my infant with me to drop her off, and they had closed the store. How unprofessional. How can a business be allowed to no call no show? I loved their vet and decided, stupidly, to give them a second shot. I scheduled with them my cats certificate of health and vaccine appointment before her flight. This has to be done legally within ten days, and orchestrating this out of state was stressful. They called to reschedule it, as they had to close the store down for repairs. We changed her appointment to the next day. The next day, my friend takes her to the vet to be met with the sign in the photo. I know closures have to happen, but what the hell? Why did we reschedule in the first place, and why didn't you call me? This is so horribly unprofessional and frustrating, especially because I relayed to the staff when scheduling how important it was that she be seen before her flight. Absolutely love Dr. Mulvaney! I've been looking for a good fear-free vet to manage my dog's behavior, as well as pain management, and Mulvaney has transformed my pup. He goes in tail wagging to see her. Unfortunately, did have a bad experience with one of the vet techs at a recent appt. She was impatient and rough when she handled my dog physically (causing his legs to splay, but the vet quickly rectified by offering a mat for him to stand on). Vet tech also was rude when talking to me about and collecting payment; she shoved the machine at me and demanded I pay, then slammed the door when she left. Overall, I would recommend this veterinarian and have. This vet tech is the only one I've had a problem with - the rest are pretty gentle and compassionate. read more

I had tried this vet years before but felt they were giving superficial consideration for my cat's needs, so I stopped going. In the past year or so, they got new staff, so I gave them another try on the suggestion of a friend. I won't go into too much detail, but my cat was having digestive troubles, and the treatment he received was a huge pile of bills that came to mostly inconclusive results. They also charged me for tests that they ended up not doing, and they acted surprised when they didn't have the results from them, despite it being on the paperwork that they charged me for it. Their costs were also higher than I had gotten from other vets. My cat's health went downhill rapidly, and out of desperation I took him to another nearby vet and they were far more attentive and concerned for him, and also way more informed and knowledgeable about what to do. Unfortunately, he was so far gone at that point, he passed away not long after, and I can't help but wonder if I had gone with the other vet earlier, he would still be alive today. That friend of mine that recommended me? They diagnosed her dog with a disease, and also started overcharging her for nail clippings, while also forcing her to help them with it (she's disabled so it was very difficult for her). I suggested she try the other vet, and she did, and they tested her dog and found he did not have the disease that the other vet diagnosed him with. They also charged the standard nail clipping rate. The kicker? Like the tests they charged me for but didn't do, her paperwork she got from them said her dog had tested negative for that disease - yet they told her he had it and proceeded to charge her for treatments for a year or so. Do they even read their own paperwork? I would say if you go with this vet, be cautious and thorough. They will pull one over on you, and their general demeanor is that they've got things to do and your pet is just an appointment to get done for the day. I'd look elsewhere. read more

We haven't seen the same vet twice I don't think since he left, they unexpectedly closed for a month leaving our dog without medication and scrambling before vacation, and are hard to get ahold of. We changed vets, once Dr B sold his practice. As Dr B always made sure we had a concern we could bring our dog in that day and they would be seen , sometime during the day. This is now not the case, they seem not to care and the staff is not pleaseant to deal with in any way shape or form. Plus even now they still will not let you come in with your animal. Very comforting and professional! They took a very stressful situation handled it with care and professionalism to make it easy and manageable. They have a great team made up of loving, knowledgeable care givers. At first I was really nervous about handing over Benjamin without meeting the staff in person but they did an excellent job of communicating and explaining things very thoroughly through email and phone calls. Dr. Bushey did the initial exam and did a great job of explaining everything in a simple to understand kind of way and did not try to sell us on anything that he didn't need. Dr, Burrell is who did the actual surgery for the neuter, I never spoke to him but he did explain everything to my girlfriend very thoroughly The entire staff up there was super sweet and never had any problem answering all my questions and concerns. When he got picked up they we're very reassuring knowledgeable and thorough. All these things added up to a really great experience! I've brought my cats to KAH since 2014 and would never have taken them elsewhere until today. Our appt was for a checkup. We were put in a room where they store their cleaning supplies and it was disgusting. The table was a metal operating table covered with a dirty towel and small stained mat on top. There was a small mattress leaning against the wall along with a large empty box and a fake fur mat. I did not stay and told the women at the desk why. No idea why KAH has changed so much but we won't be back!! read more

I literally have been going to Kenmore veterinary hospital with my animals for close to 30 years. Dr. Bellinghausen was the best. I've been very pleased in the past with their professionalism and quality care up to about 3 years ago when Dr B retired, and the clinic was taken over by other Drs. I have more than once had to call a couple times in order to get some assistance in filling a prescription. Today was the last straw. I had sent in an email and called and left a message requesting a prescription refill. No response back two days later. When I followed up today with another phone call, I was told she would submit my request and the dr would respond within 24-48 hrs! I was livid as it had already been that long and my dog cannot go without her meds. I was told I would be put in the Que and that was the best she could do. So now my 48 initial Hours has turned into possibly 96 hours of waiting for a response from the doc. What ever happened to walking a damn note back to the doc and say "hey when you get a quick second could you call this client?" I'm more than frustrated at the poor response times and hands off approach. So sad because this was my go to for years. The Doc is good but the process to get help and the immature desk help is disheartening to deal with. The excuse of COVID is one thing, but poor customer service shouldn't be affected by your efforts to help your long term clients. read more

The least you can do is have some basic human decency when speaking to someone that is dealing with an injured pet. Took my cat here several times due to a coughing issue. I got medication for him and did as they told. When the problem persisted they blamed me for not bringing him in when I recently had. They overcharged for an x-ray that wasn't necessary and found nothing. The vet I was working with instilled panic instead of comfort several times. Going to talking about putting my cat to sleep when there were other options that ended up working for a while before my cat eventually passed away. Those at the front desk and non doctors were very helpful and seemed to know more than the veterinarian that was helping my cat. read more

First let me start off by saying that the state of veterinary medicine is in complete shambles. There is a significant lack of available doctors, assistants, technicians, and receptionists in the field, currently. Couple this with an influx in pets, and we are facing a disaster. The team members that are actively working in the field are often under paid, overworked, and unappreciated. Considering how talked about this veterinary crisis is, I am ashamed of all of the recent poor reviews regarding lack of appointments or them being closed for situations out of their control. Shame on you people, do better! That mindset from clients is exactly part of the problem. Kenmore Veterinary Hospital was able to get all four of my pets in on the same morning, within a week of me requesting an appointment. That is UNHEARD of nowadays. All four of my pets were treated with the utmost care by Dr. Fukuzato and the rest of the team. He tailored his exam to match each of their personalities and we had a successful visit despite my cats fractious personality and my dogs anxiety. The new remodel is absolutely gorgeous/functional and the clinic was extremely clean and well maintained. We ended the appointments by going and grabbing coffee for the team, because they deserve it. They are doing their absolute best to care for our pets at a time when they are massively overworked. Situations like expecting them to call and cancel your appointment while they have no power (no power means no phones and no access to computer software containing client information) is unrealistic. After having a lot of good results with Dr. Ahmed(?) we took our sick golden girl in to the clinic with full anticipation of having to put her down. She could barely move and we knew she had a mass on her side that was growing almost daily. She just wasn't "there" anymore. Unfortunately, Dr. B said she just had some mild arthritis and sent her home with pain pills. We, stupidly, trusted him. By the end of the week our Golden Retriever was dead. We called a mobile vet to come out and euthanize her and he agreed the Dr. misdiagnosed her and should have discussed putting her to sleep earlier. Heartbreaking experience. read more

Dr Mike recently took his well earned retirement and the business was sold to a corporate entity. The service, care, respect to animals & customers, and feeling confident in how my animals are being taken care of, has vanished. I WAS an original customer of this business, but no longer after my most recent appointment. The vet was rude, had no idea why we were there...again ( 3rd appt to try to get a broken toe fixed), and made it my fault that she was running behind. IF she, the vet, was going to be able to look at my dog, as I had set my appointment for, then I was going to have leave her because she was already running 30 minutes behind (it was only 10 am, how late was she by the end of the day?) or else she was not going to be looked at. Really??? Great customer service there!!!! Immediately asked to have my dog brought to me and left (by the way, they even charged me for the appointment, even thought they did not look at my dog. I had to contact them and have them reverse the charges, which they did do). My neighbor suggested their vet who was ably to examine my dog Saturday and they removed the toe today. They did in 4 days what Kenmore could not do in 4 weeks. My little doggy is no longer in pain from her broken toe. Be forewarned, it is my belief that no pet is safe given the current management situation in Kenmore. read more

I've been taking my cat here for about 7 years. They are kind, caring, gentle and trustworthy. My cat just had his teeth cleaned and a tooth extracted, and I was incredibly nervous. One of the employees showed up early so I could drop my cat off before I had to get to work. How accommodating! They also called me multiple times with updates before, during and after the procedure. This has been my family vet for the last two years. The very first time I truly needed them was today and they failed me MISERABLY. I adopted two puppies who unbeknownst to me had parvo. By the time i learned this, it was too late to save the first. For the second the cost of hospitalization which totaled 5000 with no guarantee of success was daunting so my family chose to treat her at home purchasing all the needed medicine from the ER we visited. We also, being a dog friendly household have two other dogs and without knowing how far this disease could spread felt the need to conserve resources. The emergency room I took Aria to advised I should follow up with my vet for subcutaneous fluids after giving me the meds I'd need to vanquish this virus. I called my vet today and after several sessions of phone tag and hey let me investigate I was given a resounding no. No we will not help you save this life because we need an appointment first before we can provide the fluids and no we cannot make an appointment because we are far to busy with anal gland expressions and vaccinations to save a life! Are you serious!!!!! I don't need painkillers I'm asking The visit which would have cost 5 minutes of your day and saved a life could not be managed. I'm done with this vet. Furthermore, I'm convinced that the facade of love care and concern is just that. A facade. These people are in business. Money is their driver. They don't care about pets or saving lives if so I would have been told ok wait in your car till we can see her wait all day if you have to come early or late let's make it work. I'm sure this place is good for simple things like yearly shots and check ups... But don't expect to get caring and prompt service for an emergency even if you are a regular. I was rushing in with my friends dog and she seemed to have a suspected broken tail and needed treatment right away as there was bleeding as well. The puppy in my care was clearly in a lot of pain. We waited over an hour with a screaming puppy so that the doctors could "finish they lunch". Most of the laddies at the front desk were acting very unprofessional. I do understand we came in with an emergency without a appointment but regardless I would expect more urgency and care with something so serious. I did not feel that the safety and comfort of that puppy came first at all. Although, after the long wait, the doctor himself was great and gave us answers quickly with a plan of action. read more

I was very impressed with everyone I met at Kenmore Veterinary Hospital. I love that there is a separate entrance for dogs and cats. As a cat owner this is much appreciated. I was greeted promptly when I arrived. We were shown into an exam room right away. The tech who did the intake exam was very nice and polite and handled the cat gently and appropriately. She explained everything she was doing. She let us know that the doctor would be a few minutes while she finished up with another client. Dr. Heidi Miller was a pleasure to work with. She was great at explaining what she was doing. We talked about the possible diagnostic options and the treatment plans. All questions were answered in language that was easily understood. I knew that she had the cat's best interest as the highest priority. Everyone we met was so nice and friendly. I really enjoyed the visit. This place used to be amazing. Now, no one ever answer the phone, and supposedly they're only open three days in May 2022. Since the pandemic there's been a revolving door of veterinarians and staff. Our dog is 13 and we want him to be cared for with consistency and care. Dr. Sharma is an amazing veterinarian but left the state about 5 years ago. We discovered he's back in WA and now in practice up in Everett!! It is so worth it to us to make the commute to Everett for elderly dog care for our old boy. We couldn't be happier!! Your website is your front door since COVID prevents me from coming inside, so I'd carefully looked at the doctors listed and read their qualifications. Dropped the dog off and waited in my car as instructed. The doctor called me with an assessment and I didn't recognize his name when he introduced himself but was impressed with his knowledge. Spoke with a staff member who said the doctor joined the practice over a year ago (confirmed this on Google) but not only is he not on the site but another doctor who no longer works there is listed. Please update your staff profiles. Reasonably happy with the treatment and bill seemed fair but 3 days later, on a Sunday, noticed another issue related to the treatment I'd paid for. Left a phone message and waited until Tuesday. (They were closed on Monday, presumably because it was Memorial Day but nothing on their answering machine indicated this.) By noon with no call back, called again and they claimed there were no messages! Tech told me the problem I was having was something they wouldn't treat. Referred to a specialist. One of the issues I spoke to the technician about was my dog's diet in relation to the medical problem. Tech said they don't do nutritional counseling but it's listed as something they do on the website. Not happy with the website, answering machine and tech staff. Very happy with the doctor who treated my dog. Bonus points for good telephone manner. Bottom line: will try another vet. I anticipate on-going problems with my dog and want full value for my money. read more
