We have been coming here for over 4 years with our two toy poodles and our kitty, Autumn, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the care we have received for all three of them. I especially want to recognize the incredible care our kitty received over the years. Dr. Murayama provided amazing treatment when she helped save Autumn's tail three years ago, and she continued to compassionately care for our elderly kitty through hyperthyroidism, a heart murmur, and kidney disease. Dr. Anderson also stepped in whenever Dr. Murayama was unavailable and was equally caring, thoughtful, and helpful. Yesterday, we sadly had to help our almost 17-year-old kitty cross the Rainbow Bridge. Unfortunately, I have been through this experience before, but the compassion and kindness we received yesterday made this the most comforting experience possible during such a heartbreaking time. He even sat on the floor in front of us so I could continue holding my baby while he administered the medication as she peacefully made her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. I could go on with even more details, but I have already written so much. I simply cannot thank this hospital, the doctors, and the entire staff enough for the extraordinary compassion, care, and support they have shown our family over the years and especially during one of the hardest moments we've faced. I have 3 dogs and 4 cats. One of my dogs had been coughing a lot. I took him to Mukilteo Vet hospital, They said he had a lump in his lung and said it was likely cancer. They prescribed me some cough pills that helped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ran out of medicine and went to get more. The vet told me no, I could not have anymore.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I said the poor dog is suffering from the cough and the cough medicine helps. She would not prescribe another bottle of cough pills. I went on line and purchased the same cough pills medicine, 250 pills. Now my dog is not coughing as before. I understand he has lung cancer and may not live long. I just want him to be comfortable during his last few months. My other pets will no longer go to this Vet. read more

Dr. Redshaw was so attentive to Uzi, she wasn't rushed, she took her time to explain things to me that I didn't know. I am baffled by what I learned on my visit that I believe doctors should have told me when Uzi was a puppy. I have a senior dog who I took to another vet and had his bad teeth written off as being due to his progressed age. They didn't want to do anything about it because of the risk of the anesthetic they'd have to use for a cleaning. I went for a second opinion at Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital and one of the first things the vet said to me resonated: Age isn't a disease. Rather than write my dog off to suffer, they did blood work and confirmed that he was eligible for dental cleaning and potential extraction. My boy's teeth were a mess, and he ended up having most of them taken out, but we're two days past his surgery and he's already more alert and active than he was prior. I hate to think that I would've left him to suffer if I'd gone with the other vet's opinion, and potentially lost years with him that we can now enjoy with each other. I do not recommend anyone come to this practice. A tale of believing in yourself and how to read. I have a puppy that I had initially brought to the practice for his second set of boosters since his initial had been done before. That first visit was smooth, vet had checked the records and spoke to us about the time line for vaccines and prescribed the second set of vaccines in that visit. SECOND. Fast forward about three weeks later the same exact puppy is supposed to go in for his third set. Once there my partner is told the pup will need another check up despite the fact that he was simply there for the boosters. Declined the check up and kept it going... Second red flag was they take the pup back, and come out to tell my partner that the puppy had a fever. My boyfriend simply says that the little pup has been fine and there has been no signs or symptoms at home. Now this is where things get confusing. The tech comes out to say they are about to administer the pup's SECOND dose of vaccines. Yes, you heard them...SECOND. My partner simply asks to speak to the vet at this point because something is off. He says that he was under the impression (told by the same exact vet last time) that the pup was there for the third set of vaccines. The vet states that he had misinformed us at the last appointment and had given the pup a first set of vaccines??? PARDON me. Now cue the manager and vet looking at his records live and in action and agreeing on this statement: pup was given first set last visit, and was there for the second set. Obviously my boyfriend takes the dog and runs out of there. Also that fever existed and vanished when it came time to give the pup a random set of vaccines LOL. Now I'm calling to understand what is going on because a) they have his records and if they had simply ACTUALLY read it they can see that the first was given on x date, and b) hopefully they have their own notes and charts since this wasn't the first visit???? The manager tries to back up the vet's statement....BUT after only a five minute review of the chart with me, we turn to page five and there it is. Safe to say we came to the conclusion that the pup did just need his third set after all. May I just say this was all within the same hour...don't ask me what changed in that time. Now there are two contradicting statements and even after I express I had lost trust in the office they now are saying they could not have delivered the third set because he was only 15 weeks and needed to be 16 weeks old...uhm what are we talking about at this point haha??? If timing was the issue, we could have just rescheduled. Side note: I used the n word (negligence) and the manager had to know if I was recording cause she has rights...as if I want to record someone reading to me, but also when did they become the victims in this? They then continue to urge me to get him vaccinated as if he was brought there for anything else LOL. It is the fact that the vet is coming out saying he misinformed us the previous time, and I had to sit there and listen to someone read records with me to get back on track. This all could have been avoided if someone had some faith in himself and his original stance, and had taken two minutes to truly read those records. Had I been a more naive person they would have convinced me at the beginning and we would have delivered an unnecessary set of vaccines to our pup. I am not a trained veterinary provider, but the literature out there ranges from my dog being perfectly fine, to developing autoimmune disorders, or developing allergies that were avoidable. If the vet didn't even believe in himself, I don't trust them either. read more

The veterinarian seemed to really care about our dog and asked a lot of questions. It was about $80 for the visit but they added a shot that was abut $95. And with the medications it came to about $350. Very expensive. I'll stick to my less expensive regular vet. I felt we were taken advantage of and pressured. read more

I still receive automated emails from the practice asking me to set up another appointment and updating me despite not being allowed back after doing nothing wrong. If you don't make the doctor write down what you say in the notes - no information gets conveyed. The vet techs are patronizing and unwilling to work with your schedule. This veterinary hospital blatantly -- and without any justification or remorse -- price gouges customers. Despite being customers for a couple years and filing formal billing complaints, Melanie (Practice Manager) and the owner refused any accountability. I raised multiple concerns over the preposterous overbilling and illegitimate excuses given regarding Cytopoint charges for our dog. After researching fair market prices extensively, I informed the veterinary hospital that it was inexplicably charging us 1.5-2x the going rate for these injections. We have since moved to All Care Pet Hospital around the corner with high quality care, professionalism, and fair pricing. The same Cytopoint injection has incurred a charge of $107.70 with each visit versus the $203.30 charged by Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital (an astounding $95.60 difference!). Keeping in mind that our dog requires 4-6 of these shots annually, Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital gouged us for around $500 annually. Melanie's attitude and responses were unprofessional, patronizing, and outright rude. Do NOT go here. She told me that I was effectively blacklisted after calling in my original complaint, and in subsequent calls one of the front office staff pretentiously gave "legal advice." read more

Dog was robbed years of his life due to their lack of care, lack of knowledge, and overbooking of appointments. As our regular vet for several years, we brought our pet in due to a lack of appetite and being in a cycle of eating for several days and then not eating for another several days. We addressed it right away and booked several appointments to try and figure out what was going on. After losing about 20% of the dog's body weight, I was in complete astonishment with how little the veterinarians seemed to care about this issue. According to the bloodwork and their testing, the dog was fine, and they would send us home with anti-nausea medicine each time. Overall, we brought our dog in three times over the course of about 2 months always trying to address the same issue, without their concern whatsoever. One of the times, they told us they would call us the next day to deliver results and answer our questions. We never received the call, so we ended up calling them later in the day to which a vet was not available to take a call. We were then told they'd call us the next day, and naturally they didn't call then either. Every time we went it, it felt like they couldn't get us in and out sooner to get to their next vet appointment. Not only that, every time we went in, it was a minimum of $250-300 for them to not tell us anything meaningful or diagnosis what the true issue was. We were willing to do anything to address the issue, and they never seemed concerned. After we stopped using them as a vet, the next 3 months were filled with a string of 10 or so random urgent care and ER visits to whichever vets we could find availability at. The dog ending up losing about half his body weight due to what we later found out to be IBD, that was never diagnosed or even theorized from our primary vet at Mukilteo. Our dog passed away this weekend, and I feel guilty for ever having found Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital in the first place. read more

I recently moved to Washington me my dog has been sick from the move. She sat on the floor and really got to know my dog. They left me with a dog in pain and a huge bill, then they fired me because I got upset over their complete lack of communication. The veterinarian was amazing. My experience with her was absolutely great. The part that is the issue is they do whatever they can to NOT tell you what their services cost. Then they push the "you could've asked" narrative to put all the blame on you for how outrageous their services are. $960 just to get a spay done. $300 for rabies, microchip and general checkup. That's my rent payment. That's nearly 8 months of my car payment. I very much won't be returning once I can get these people to answer the phones to make the final payment for the absolute ripoff I just experienced. The ADA was even appalled I was charged so much for general services for my Service Dog. They're going to be handling all of the veterinary care recommendations from now on to avoid this type of situation again. read more

Dr Chatterson and a tech came to my house to put my pet of 15 years to sleep. While this was one of the hardest things I've ever done, I would recommend you do euthanasia in your home. Dr Chatterson and his tech (sorry I can't remember her name) we're so respectful and caring and told me every step before hand and then again before they did the steps. I was able to say goodbye to my best friend in the most peaceful way possible. I miss her so much. I can't say it enough how caring they were during such a hard time. My dog was put to sleep on her little bed she had for 10 years. The tech was so sweet to ask if I wanted her to go with the bed and be cremated with it and I said yes. When the time comes for another dog I will definitely use them again. The office is clean and pretty and the front staff has been nothing but amazing. read more

JANUARY 29,2020 my cattledog needed surgery to extract a broken fang tooth as both fang teeth were damaged in his previous home. Dr. Moran gave me a estimate for the extraction of the tooth at $285.00. At the same time we neutered my dog and cleaned his teeth a full set of x-rays and laser healing treatment to aid in healing. The cost came in at $1,245.61 I was very happy with the outcome of both surgeries. July 6, 2020 same dog broke his other fang tooth so I called and ask if he could come in and they said they were too busy that day but could take him in the morning at 8:00 am. I ask for a estimate which I didn't receive. I arrived to drop my dog off and after I was finally acknowledged 45 minutes later and I did call when I arrived at 8:00 am. I ask about an estimate and the person said "oh we are so busy we either had to give you an estimate or another dog would have died. So we chose to have another dog live. I couldn't believe how unprofessional that statement was. I said well you should have let me know sounds like your too busy to take care of Maxx. She said oh no were here now. She took the dog inside and said he would be ready in 4 hours. I got a bill for $ 899.00 for less than one hour of surgery for one tooth. I mentioned 5 months ago the cost was $285.00. She reply was Dr. Chatterbox just purchased this business and inflation has caused our prices to go up just like it does. Nothing like a bait and switch tactic. And Maxx needed further care at a emergency room as his tooth was bleeding very bad that afternoon at 4:30 pm. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. read more

Besides our care from Dr.Farmer (who has since left the clinic) who was knowledgeable, compassionate and gave us great care. The owner Dr. Chatterson was very passive and gave us completely opposite advice from what Dr. farmer had told us previously. Leaving us feeling very uneasy and upset. I reached out to the manager and had a 20 minute conversation with her expressing these concerns, which she was suppose to follow up with me on and didn't. I had scheduled a teeth cleaning for our Saint Bernard to happen yesterday morning. She is eight years old and never had her teeth cleaned. She would have to be put under to clean her teeth and the full cost was going to be between $600 and $700 dollars. We left her there and soon received a call from Dr. Chatterson. To our surprise, he said he would go ahead with the cleaning if we wanted but he didn't think it was necessary. He said she had a relatively small build up of tartar (which he says is inevitable) but the amount wasn't causing any problem and we could easily wait another year, at least, to have her teeth cleaned. When we picked her up, we were charged nothing. With different dogs we have been customers of Mukilteo Veterinary hospital for about 25 years and have always been satisfied. However, Dr. Chatterson's common sense advice proved he is practicing medicine for his patient's well being and is not inclined to take money from doting pet parents when it's not necessary. After calling several places to get a quote for our dogs cremation we decided to go with Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital. Obviously one of the main reason for us was pricing, we had spent a ton of money trying to get our pet treated already and we just weren't ready to drop another hefty price for euthanizing and cremating our dog. MVH provided us the most reasonable quote and the staff on the phone was very nice and understanding. They even told us several time to reschedule our appointment if we feel that we need to change our mind last minute. They were very professional and gentle with our dog. After a week of letting our pet go we received a card in the mail with everyone's thoughtful words to us and event a stamp of our dog's nose print. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture that they had done for us. We really appreciate what you and your staff had done for us! read more

They have helped me through some very hard times with my dogs with love and compassion. I will never bring my pets back here. Our regular vet was closed for the 4th of July week so I had to go to the first vet I could find that was available. This place had been recommended to me, so I went. Our cat had stopped eating and was puking all over the place for 5 days. I took him in and their immediate diagnosis was pancreatitis. He is only 5, is supposed to be a 12lb cat, but is 14lbs. Not terribly over weight since he was 17lbs when we got him. He is on a high protein diet, drinks water like a fish, very active. Symptoms of pancreatitis are nausea, dehydration, diarrhea, loss of coordination, among others. He was only showing signs of nausea. But, I took their word for it. They immediately let him go home and charged me over $400 for medicine for pain and nausea and special food. He wouldn't take the nausea pills and he wasn't in pain. The blood results came back showing that I didn't need any of that stupid stuff anyway. Three days later, they tell me to bring him in for an ultra sound. $350 later, they finally go back to MY ORIGINAL SUGGESTION WHEN I FIRST BROUGHT HIM TO THEM!! We are moving! He's stressed out! His last owner left him when he moved. And, according to the previous owner, he get's super stressed when you move anyway and pukes everywhere. So, after a near $1000, it's decided it's stress and they can only give him medicine that would kick in in about 6 weeks. Wtf?!? A complete waste of money! I'm grateful they were open, I'm grateful I have insurance. Will wait for my regular vet to get back to town the next time rather than drop $1000 to not get anything resolved until my vet was back in town anyway. read more

First time today. I do love my current vet, but I have to say I loved dr. Chatterson. I respected all the choices that were given us, and also the way it was broken down in the thought process I was impressed with his interaction with "me" and my pets. I never once felt pressured, manipulated, attitude, arrogance, (I've had some horrible vets) or anything negative. The staff were friendly and Melany and helper took blood samples fast and efficiantly, I was allowed to watch. I will definately be using their services. This vet is amazing. Very friendly staff who are great with my puppy. I had a pretty decent experience there on my last visit, but not great like always. I called a while later to see if I could get my issue resolved. Being the shy, socially awkward person that I am, I dreaded the phone call. The lady that answered my call was really nice and tried to sort it out as best she could. The only thing that she could do was have the manager call me the next day, which was fine with me. But the way she handled the call took a lot of anxiety off of me. I got a call from the manager, Jen, the next day. Wow, I had such an amazing phone call with her. Don't be fooled by the rating, yelp really misses the mark on this hospital. Upon our first visit I was really happy and thought that I had found our vet but then I figured out they are only good if your pet isn't sick. 1)First incident: My puppy got kennel cough and got progressively worse in a matter of hours not days. I called first thing in the morning and they couldn't get me in till 3, fine whatever. But then I kept calling every time a new symptom came up and besides the lack of empathy they weren't helpful at all with providing me a solution. It took me asking HOURS later where else I could take him that they mentioned the emergency hospital. 2) Stool sample: I was told repeatedly that it took one day. ONE. Tip if you aren't going to stick to that than maybe say one to three days. 3) At this point I'm already annoyed and planning on switching offices so I call and cancel the follow up appointment I had. The SAME staff member I cancelled with literally called the next morning to ask me to make an apt for what I cancelled. I replied I intentionally cancelled due to be happy. Again no empathy no concern. I got ok thank you have a nice day. I did like the vet I met but not worth the terrible service that followed. read more

Our dog (son) comes from Thailand and we needed him to get checked out and after researching a couple of places, we found Mukilteo Veterinary Hospital. We chose here because of the reviews on Yelp, and also because it is very close to where I work. Scheduling an appointment was super easy. Upon walking in, the staff was friendly and nice. We met up with Dr. Dahl and he reported all was fine with our boy and that he was as healthy as can be. Dr. Dahl seemed like a great person as well. Answered all of our questions and was again, friendly. I can't comment on the prices here, but I thought they were super reasonable. I definitely recommend people coming here with their pets if they want great customer service. read more

I had a terrible experience with this vet!! Terrible!!! We had an appt and I was 10 minutes late due to the wrong address they provided on Yelp!! They were very aggressive with me that if I didn't show up in five minutes they would have to reschedule. I left in a good amount of time and then once we were 10 minutes late because of their incorrect address they didn't see our dog for another 25 minutes and we sat in the car. Once they took my dog and we were charged $304 for a very simple visit!! I feel like our vet, I'm not sure what her name was, was very incompetent! I was worried that my dog on top of everything else that we were concerned about had fleas. They were unable to locate that issue until about five minutes before the visit was over. They had said to me yeah, oh now we see a couple fleas. Fleas should be easy to see when you're paying money to have your dog examined!!! The manager then proceeded to call me tonight three days after the visit and told me that we are no longer welcome there! We moved here from Edmonds and have never had any type of situation like this and then I've had a lot since we've moved to Everett!!! I think there are a lot of good veterinarians in the area I'm hoping and I sincerely would not recommend this one! One more thing as the manager called me tonight after she said that we were no longer welcome that I had a problem with keeping my daughter in the car and then I was upset that we could not come in and I knew that we cannot come in and we were doing curbside so that was just completely dishonest!! read more

Absolutely loved these guys. It's taken me almost a year to find our vet!! They were super welcoming, made sure to note every question I had and really take the time to listen and find a solution! I didn't feel as they overcharges as most vets do and they really are just lovely. My dog hasn't been that comfortable with a vet in years!! read more
