It has something for everyone. Vintage clothes, handcrafted items, local Maine gifts, a candy store, very carefully and thoughtfully curated collection of seasonal surprises around every corner, and there is so much to explore! Be prepared to spend a couple hours in here, easily! Prices were decent, very affordable. Especially considering every item had so much thought and love put into it. Serious! Every display was PERFECTION! It was definitely inspiring, and made me want to plan out an entire re-do on my home decor. Service here is top notch, we met the owners and they are very sweet. I dropped off a few things at the counter for them to hold while I continued to shop. He apparently wrapped them while I was shopping. When I came back to the counter, my husband wanted to talk with the other clerk about a couple of cameras. The first clerk tried to rush me to check out my items before my husband finished his conversation. I told him that I was waiting for my husband. He kept asking me every couple of minutes if I was ready to check out. I kept telling him no and he seemed to get more and more frustrated with me. He slammed things around and kept sighing loudly each time I said I was waiting. I can only describe his behavior as rude. There was no one else in the vicinity so I wasn't holding up a line or anything. Finally, after about 10 minutes, my husband finished his conversation and I said I was ready to check out. I had wanted to take a second look at one of the items I had dropped off. He told me that I couldn't because he had already wrapped it. Yes, I know I could have told him to just keep it, but I didn't. So, just know two things: 1. When you drop something off for them to hold it for you, just know that you can't re-evaluate your choice. 2. All camera equipment that the vendors bring in gets collected by the manager and put on e-bay. So you will need to ask the price at the counter and likely haggle. I probably won't go again because rude employees aren't acceptable.

My favorite type of items for sale are called upcycled. Items that would be thrown away are used to make very creative products. There were also some trendy new clothes, and some that were new but looked vintage. There is a good range of high quality used housewares. There is a wide selection of jewelry and some nice furniture.

Fast forward to this year, my daughter is getting married and the Wedding Shower was going to be a Tea Party. We wanted to make up some Thank You Gifts with a Tea Cup and a silver spoon so I went back to Ron Reed. He was annoyed right off the bat because I didn't see his sign to turn the light on for myself. OK, sorry Buddy! So, he had to reprimand me for that. All I wanted was spoons so I went to the silverware box and pulled some out. I needed about 25-30 of them but since he charges fifty cents a piece which is actually quite pricey for old tarnished spoons. I decided to just get 40 of them...20 bucks! Sure, that was fine, he didn't have to give me change, no problem. I'll get 'em and go...NO. Not going to happen. Nothing can be easy! I walked up to Ron and he asked me if I can count. HUH? Yeah, I can count (at least up to 40). Then he tells me he's "been taken before". TAKEN? WHAT? I told him I wasn't there to TAKE HIM! I'm halfway mad at myself because he counted them and said I had 41. Darn it!! I can count and I thought I had 40 but he counted 41. I should have counted them again for myself but I wasn't there to TAKE HIM, so I reached in my purse and pulled out 50 cents. Why I'm mad at myself is that I didn't need that many spoons to begin with. I should have put some back instead of buying more than I needed. I'll just say; He's not a people person! I'm giving him 2 stars because his place is better organized than most "Antique" shops. It's small so it doesn't take too long to go through his place. Pretty much has the same stuff as most antique stores. The first time I was there he was complaining about his ex-wife to my husband. He just needs to learn how to talk to people. RUDE!

My dad used to renovate run-down stuff he'd salvaged from the Alna Dump (dump picking was legal; this was the early 70s) and sell or trade to Elmer. Hours would go by. So much amazing and rusty junk, and random things like thousands of wooden eggs and bags of antique long white gloves and lace tablecloths sold by the pound. Anyway, it's an antique mall, now, but there is still the old vibe there, chickens wandering around, rusty sawblades, and if you go out in the back rooms which maybe you aren't supposed to...The smell of wet cement and the old creepy tools hanging up *chef's kiss* Oh, and you'll leave with something reasonably priced. Last trip's treasures were that Yes album with the six part fold-out-art ($8) and a kinda cheesy old painting with ornate frame ($13); I'll toss the painting and upcycle the frame. Pretty sure some ghosts "live" there...bring a camera and take some spooky pictures to see spirit orbs! Can't recommend an Elmer's afternoon highly enough, particularly on a cold, rainy day.

Everyone is super helpful, smiles and greets you with a smile and a hello. They have national brands and local stuff too like local raw honey, Coca Cola products and Moxie a local Maine soda. Upstairs there is a gun store, fishing tackle, Men's and womenswear including wedding dresses and downstairs there are guns and, tools, hardware supplies (we got a drill bit to drill into concrete) and everything else. There is parking in front of the store but if the lot is full there is more space across the street. I think this is the only store.within 20 miles but the prices seem decent and not your typical up charges for convince. There is a customer service department that handles lotto winners and licenses. Truly one of the nicest people ever works there. The wine selection was not great but wines snobs can't always get what they want. The butcher shop was solid. Super nice guys there with big smiles and hellos. Just courteous people there from the staff to the shoppers. I like this store! Oh and I got a homemade blueberry pie!
