Grumble grumble... I managed to drop my sunglasses some time this morning and got a big scratch on…read morethem. As I was passing through Augusta, this Walgreens crept into my vision and so I stopped in for a replacement. The store is the usual set up with personal care, greeting cards, drinks and snacks, cosmetics, over-the-counter medications and a full-service pharmacy. Sunglasses are on an end cap of one of the aisles with a reasonable selection and priced as low as $10 and higher than $20. I found a decent pair for $15 and paid for them at the front. After 7 attempts to get a prescription filled…read morethrough our insurance company's mail order company, and needing an emergency refill twice from Hannaford, we finally gave up on mail-order for that RX and stayed with Hannaford. Each time we call, the service is excellent, ideas for overcoming issues are reasonable and helpful, and our prescriptions are filled quickly. The pharmacist and assistants are always positive and caring. It is always reassuring to talk to people, and not have to wait for long periods of time only to discover that the virtual assistants are not in service, and the computer service that is recommended is not working. I had to pick up my husbands meds and went in with a mask. They DO NOT require masks at all and about 75-90% of the people in the store did not wear one. I walked by 2 men stocking shelves and both had masks under their chin (not covering mouth or nose). I stood in a line at the pharmacy in back of a woman who was sick and coughing with no mask and her hand full of cold med, no one asked her to put one on and she coughed without bothering to cover her mouth as her arms were full. It was the grossest experience walking up and having to sign the same thing she also touched with no sanitizer or wipes anywhere. There was a sign on the door asking people not to bring in reusable bags so you only get to use the plastic ones they give you. But that's it. The important precautions that work (mask and social distancing) are NOT in place nor are they enforced. I have a husband who has emphysema and one kidney. The risk just from me picking up meds was unreal. I am definitely using another pharmacy and grocery store that takes precautions seriously and knows how masks protect others and not the person wearing them because this was so dangerous. I wanted to shop for food but after the pharmacy, I just left. If you care for anyone you love, don't bother going here. This is the closest store to me and the nearest other one is a good 45 min drive. I'm unhappy but if I have to travel that far, I am going to. This was unreal.

We found everything we were looking for and my little nephew found more than I was hoping he would find LOL, M&Ms for the win. The self checkouts were all working! That's the first from the stores I have visited in Maine. The process is super easy, there was a staff member nearby and jumped into action quickly when the customer next to us accidentally scanned an item twice. They were friendly when helping and didn't seem bothered. There is plenty of parking and it was clean and well lit. I highly recommend this store for your retail, pharmacy and vaccine needs.

Time 2:46 PM Est, I called the CVS 24 Stone Street, Augusta, Maine Pharmacy store to get them to…read moretake a prescription off my account I do not need and my doctor never ordered to have made or refilled, and they had me down for a auto-refill of ALBUTEROL HFA (PROVENTIL) INH Asthma inhaler, and I already been taking the VENTIL only inhaler, the other one makes me sick to my stomach and I told them this over the phone too, and the workers was rude and interrupted me more then once and then said I as being rude for interrupting them when they were speaking to me over the phone, and their auto-operator phone program kept hanging up on me too and then the female Pharmacist as well cause her works said I was being rude over the phone when I was not !! She also threaten me by telling me if I don't change my attitude that she was going to call my doctors and tell them I won't be allowed to use the Pharmacy at CVS 24 Stone Street Store anymore cause I am rude and will not change my attitude, when it was the workers doing it to me first and their auto-operator hanging up on me when I asked to speak to a "Live Person" or "Live Agent" !!!
