We have used Kennelina for years however today their customer service was TERRIBLE!! We just picked up our dogs about 2 weeks ago after spending $1900 for the 2 of them being there for 2 weeks and nothing was said that they would not be able to keep them any longer in the future. One of our dogs is 15 years old and the other is a hyper puppy who stayed for the first time. We called today and they said they did not feel comfortable keeping them again. Then why was that not told to us after we just paid them $1900 for keeping them! Really! Called today and had no problem getting daycare elsewhere! read more

As a lifetime dog owner who views our pups as a family member, leaving them behind is always somewhat of internal battle. Kennelina Pet Resort has been exceptional in all aspects of caring for our pups in our absence. Ken & Paty are extremely responsive and considerate with their time. I know that our dogs are not the only ones in their care but when I reach out for updates or with questions, they make you feel like your pets are the only ones in their facility! I would not consider Kennelina "local" to where I live, I drive one way for about 35-40mins past several other options to give Miller & Blue the best when I can't be there! We have actually never used Kennelina, but I contacted them based off of their reviews and information on their website, which turns out to be very deceiving/inaccurate and why I am writing this review. To the owners, put the proper information on the website. I contacted Kennelina and they were quick to respond, within a couple hours. I inquired about a couple of things: *Owners onsite 24/7 - I really thought this set them apart from other boarding places, but in actuality, it is deception. They live on the property, but are not actually "onsite" and only onsite from 6 AM to 7 PM. That is not 24/7. *Their website suggests tours by appointment only and they really seem to suggest special hours to accommodate your schedules - which might just be for pickup/dropoff, but it still seems like they want to work with you just based off of how it reads. This is not the case, they only offer visits Mon-Thurs and are not flexible. Shame to miss out on opportunities for someone to spend 10 minutes to look at the property. I can't recommend this place base off of my response and inaccuracy on the website. Glad others have had great experiences, but I don't care for deception. Update the website with accurate information and I would just say this is a kennel that just doesn't work for us, and that is okay. read more

I wish I didnt have to leave a bad review. I had heard good things about kennelina when I moved to Belmont a couple months ago. My 51 pound, skinny as a rail, german wirehaired pointer has stayed in many other kennels with no problem. In fact, there was no problem that he caused this time either. I was told hes a nice dog and friendly with their staff. Thats why I'm stunned that they said he isnt welcome back. Their reason? He's too energetic. Yes, that's right, a supposedly professional dog facility banned a 51 pound friendly dog that didnt cause a problem, because they couldnt handle an energetic dog that teenagers from Rover.com have no issue walking daily. No, they didnt contact me to ask for how to deal with his simple excitement. No, they didnt seek out solutions with their loyal customer to make things easier. No, they didnt even try to keep a customer. Shame on you Kennelina, you shouldn't be in a dog centric business if you cant work we with a 51 lb, friendly dog who's never hurt a soul. Kennelina is great - they love on my dog while he's there, send pictures when they can and are super helpful with drop off and pick up. Hours are convenient and I know my dog will be well taken care of when he's with them. Highly recommend. read more

This place was recommended by my vet. That's always a good sign that the animals are cared for This was the first time I put my puppy in a kennel so I had to visit first I liked that they have visiting hours so the rest times and feedings aren't disrupted I liked that vet records are required the place it new,clean and neat. The place is very organized. I was allowed to bring food,toys, and a blanket My dog stayed for a weekend You bring in your dog (or cat) into a large clean office where they greet you and record the meals and specifics of your animal. The meals are labeled. I like that they have a frig so I could bring chicken for my dog. The next room is air conditioned and has separate runs for the dogs . They have a flap where the dogs can go outside in good weather and closed in very hot or cold weather. There is a safe grass area out back where the dogs can play during their out time. That was very clean and maintained. They are always supervised I loved that they sent photos of my dog having fun in the play yard. It really helped me realize she was having fun and I had no need to worry This is going to be my go to place when I have to leave my precious pup read more

Inhumane conditions for dogs, interviewed for job today, but definitely not going to work somewhere where the dogs have to go over 12 hours without pooping or peeing as owner clearly told me. Male owner is rude and condescending and seemed to care less for the dogs than their image and making money. Made sure to tell me that I would need to wear a shirt to work that is conservative and "doesn't show my boobs" absolutely unnecessary and creepy to say the least. I wore a button-up shirt to the interview. Please take your animals somewhere else. Nobody deserves to go that long without using the bathroom. And, for anyone looking at these reviews as a potential job candidate - save yourself the trouble of undergoing an unprofessional, creepy, and aggressive interview. read more

I have used Kennelina Pet Resort several times in the past. They are ALWAYS prompt and efficient in responding to my emails or phone calls. They deserve a five star review from me because I own a GSD and she is not as friendly with other animals as I would like for her to be. That being said, they made accommodations for her and treated her in a very kind and respectful manner. They understood that she is a one person dog and they treated her with great love, kindness and respect. They sent me pictures of her in the yard during playtime and assured me that she was eating and having a great time. When I picked her up after a weeks' vacation, she was happy, alert and well fed. To the person, Megan T., that posted about the services of this kennel; I can only say that you have absolutely no right to criticize this business unless you have used their services. These people took a gamble on my GSD, knowing that she has issues with people and other animals. My girl was treated the way that I expected her to be treated! The owners took the time to get to UNDERSTAND her personality, and Lola actually ENJOYED herself!!! That is a talent that I can only attribute to a very thoughtful and conscientious staff. As for your suggestion that they are not on site 24/7; Would you suggest a cot in the kennel? These people are definitely on site 24/7. Just because they are not sleeping with the animals that they have been entrusted with, does not mean that they are not present and ready to respond to an emergency. In the future, when you decide to write a review about a business, I would suggest that you do further research into their business practices. They state certain hours of operation, because they are busy caring for the animals that they have been entrusted with. If you would like to tour their facilities, I suggest that you go when they are available for tours. Your review suggests that your are entitled to an exception to the rules. If you are truly interested in touring the facilities of this establishment, you will follow their rules of engagement and not expect an exception. As for me and my experience with Kennelina, I can only state that it has been very positive and I will continue use their services. read more

Best care for your dog, or cat, hands down! Your pets are treated as if they are family. The owners are great at making sure my picky eater actually eats. She's been at another facility where she lost a lot of weight bc she wouldn't eat and no one would try to entice her. Great at making sure dogs go out with appropriate sized or energy level during their playtimes. Also love the updates in the form of pictures and the ability to call and check on my babies. Fantastic care, and all 3 dogs get super excited when we pull into the parking lot. read more

*** Stop You Must Read This Before Making Your Decision To Board your Pet With These Guys *** I was advices by the owner: Ken Fisher to come pickup my dog at that time or he stated he was going to call animal control when I was traveling and currently in Georgia driving a Uhaul. I'm going to start out by saying "I absolutely hate writing bad reviews ". I found this business via Google and Yelp while searching for a very well respected and very well maintained with short term boarding. As every trip should be planned out I had done so by contacting Kennelina Pet Spa. I called and ask all of my options. I have a trained certified service dog which is a German Shepherd. I made them aware that she could become aggressive at times. They stated that shouldn't be a problem. As we arrived the morning of the boarding process my dog became nervous and tried to snap one of the ladies that was employed there at the time. Ken Fisher's wife witnessed my dog acting out on an employee. The person with me had lead of dog and as he was pulling my dog back Mr. Fisher's wife stated "don't worry about it we got her". Then they led my dog to the outermost part of the grounds. As I continue my trip to Florida in a rented Uhaul when I reached Georgia I phoned Kennelina to check on my dog that's when Mr Fisher stated "You need to come and pickup your dog now". To make this review a little shorter Mr . Fisher didn't care about all the thousands I was loosing what I was going through he was very rush full even while boarding a plane back home to pickup my dog. As I landed got an Uber and got to my car and heading his way in a heavy thunderstorm and while talking to Mr. Fisher respectfully he asked where I was and I stated "I'm on your main road and I will be there in a minute " and Mr. Fisher stated "are you walking " in a rude tone. I advised Mr.Fisher it was raining pretty hard. He didn't care. Will never ever use or recommend them to anyone. My trip had been explained to them. This place is awesome, It's not one of the largest kennels but our dogs love it here. The people are awesome and the owners are super people and very friendly. Kennelina is the best boarding place I've seen around. Ever since I moved to Charlotte in 2012 - I've always boarded my German Shepherd there. The owners are such nice people and my dog is always so happy when she sees them. I feel like I never have to worry when I'm away because they always take such great care of her and one of the best parts is that they e-mail you pictures!!!
