    Not exactly a straight line...
    Kristin Y.

Updating this as after the previous review the owner creepily responded with my full name which seemed incredibly unnecessary. I've also added to the review since I've had more time to examine my dog. They did try to reach out but I am upset enough at the terrible grooming experiencing and I want nothing to do with this establishment. This review is for the grooming services. I have never utilized the daycare or boarding at One Lucky Pup. I will also add the staff seemed quite friendly so really my only issue was this specific groomer. Overall: Meh. I took my goldendoodle to be fully groomed here for the first (and last) time by Amanda (I think that's her name). I will acknowledge that I am particular on how I like my dog groomed. However, this is why I actually trim my dog's face so the groomer doesn't have to. All I ask the groomer to do is inside the ears, trim hair length around the ears, a short even all over cut, and trim down the hair inside the paw pads. The reason this review is only getting one star is because only nothing was actually done correctly or thoroughly. The groomer did not trim down inside her paw pads, the inside of the ears appeared only half completed, the cut on the body and around the ears was sloppy and uneven. I originally thought the paw pads were an oversight because it was a little chaotic in the lobby area when we first arrived. So I brought my dog back inside to have the groomer fix them. My dog was brought back to me just a moment later by someone in the reception telling me the groomer could not trim down any further. The reality is she didn't do anything to trim down the inside of the paw pads. My question is, why didn't the groomer say she wouldn't do this when I dropped my dog off? I also specifically noted this request when I booked my appointment. Anyone who has a doodle likely understands how their paw pads continuously grow and the feet become like socks sliding on hard floors. Also, if the fur stays in the paw pads doodles tend to get matting or stuff collects between the paw like dirt or burs (hence the request to trim the inside). Then, after getting home, I finished inspecting my dog and realized she only got out half of the hair in the ears. Doodles are prone to ear and yeast infections in their ears which can be avoided with proper grooming and plugging the ears during bathes. Not really worth the $92 I just spent. My dog is over four years old and has been getting groomed since she was six months old. I get her groomed every eight weeks like clockwork and she never has any matting. Getting inside the paw pads and cleaning inside the ears has been a standard practice with all other groomers so I am unsure why Amanda wouldn't do it. Maybe she was busy and felt rushed but she also told me my dog's appointment would take 3+ hours to complete yet she finished in two hours. Seems as though my dog wasn't exactly a difficult grooming session. The owner previously responded to my yelp review I had to delete saying touchups are always free. However, I immediately brought my dog back inside and nothing got fixed. Why would I come back when nothing was done right the first time? Further, the cut was incredibly uneven - specifically, her neck was shaved nearly to the skin in one spot along with weird length patches in some areas. Also, the trim around her ears was uneven and sloppy. There's no need for touchups cause I've already fixed all of the aforementioned issues myself. I was hoping I would have been able to make One Lucky Pup a solid backup for when my regular groomer is out of town but that seems like a no after my experience today.

This was immediately after we picked her up

Imagine you go on vacation for 4 days, you decide to drop your dog off for boarding/overnight care. You receive report cards from them, but no other communication is received. Upon return you pick up your dog, to discover that she is actively bleeding from her feet, she has an infection (skin cytology confirmed), and is limping. Also, it was noticed that all of the food which was provided was not fed to my animal in it's entirety, even though I measured the exact amount for the stay. The worst of all, no-one says a word to you, and no phone call was received prior to this or even on pickup. This is what I had to experience when boarding my pet at One Lucky Pup. What makes it even more messed up is when you call up to ask for an explanation and they throw different scenarios at you such as the turf when wet, or maybe because my dog has high energy or possibly because of separation anxiety - which makes it worst because it's obvious that they are playing the blame game, and save face instead of actually trying to come to a solution. I work in technology, I know the blame game all too well. If you're animal gets hurt here, there is no real process to which they follow for the comfort of the animal. They are only focused on the dollar, and saving the company - in the sense that that will do all they can to place the liability back onto you or your animal. Just know that they will only call you as a last resort if there is something truly wrong with your pet. Otherwise for them, if your pet is dirty, hurt or scared from their visit - they will just return them to you without a word as if normal. Ps: Another thing as well - if someone leaves a review, it's not very business savvy to try to blame the individual. As I see all the one star reviews have a snarky response from the owner underneath. This one will probably be the same. I would continue my search for a dog boarding place if I were you.

Poor baby traumatized for 3days shaking. also look at that haircut.

In response to the response I received. I was not writing a review one behalf of someone else ... that is my mother and they are our dogs. She took them to you guys. She brushed them out before she took them she always does.. .. I did not wait 5 days to call I called the same day ...the next day the groomer called me and was very snotty. I called back to talk to the owner or mgr.. later that day and the next ... they were never in. Finally after 5 days I got ahold of someone. So let's be truthful and clear about this! What actually made me decide to write this review is when I finally talked to the right mgr... she was very nice very understanding and was willing to help me and my mom out. ( my mom is elderly) she was going to get back to me later that day or next... she completely blew me off. Then you post this response!

This place is Amazing in every way! Our fur baby loves coming here, playing with the other pups, and running around. Such a great staff here too as they really do care about our fur family members. Highly recommend one lucky pup!

took my puppy to get evaluated to see if he'd be okay staying here. he passed everything the dogs were friendly everything was nice! showed the man helping us my pups vaccination record (he's only had 3 shots he's only 12 weeks old) and the man said we were good to go & booked our reservations. TODAY , the day of our reservation we was told he needed another shot & that the shots he had expired TODAY. i showed the lady our paper work & asked where on the paper work does it show his shots expire today she said honestly she doesn't know where the man got the date from so it was invalid. mmm okay. & why wasn't we told that he needed another shot the day he got evaluated, we were only told that we were good to go , now we are trying to rush and find a vet so my pup can get this shot. unfortunately my husband & i missed our flight & are having to change our plans because of misleading information. thanks. not saying i wouldn't recommend BUT because we wasn't told the right information we were very much so inconvenienced also the fake expiration date was uncalled for & super unprofessional. i almost felt they didn't want our business.

One of my favorite pictures of my dogs taken by OLP!

This place was actually recommended to us by another happy client, so obviously they are doing something right! My pups have only been here a few times, but already the staff remembers their names. My dogs always come back tired from all the play time. Drop off and pick up times are very convenient. Additionally, they have a system where you can request a service online, which is super convenient. Though they don't have the "doggie cams" like a lot of other facilities, a fun thing they do is share photos on their facebook page daily, so you get fun little pictures of your dogs from when they were out playing with the other dogs. A very friendly local place! I recommend taking your pups to check it out.

Happy camper after a week of boarding with One Lucky Pup!

Really great place for dogs. Huge play area with anything you can think of for your pup to play with- like wonderland for dogs of all sizes. You can tell the staff care about the dogs under their care. Very very clean facility! I used them to board my dog while we went on vacation and couldnt be happier. My dog came back happy, social, and clean as a whistle!

We missed him like crazy and worried about how he was feeling. Dennis actually had us come in halfway through, showed us what Carson had been learning, and said something that I keep thinking about: Carson wasn't missing us. Not because he doesn't love us, but because dogs live in the now. He was busy, focused, doing his thing. We felt so much better after that. Carson came home happy and calm and confident. He understood the rules and felt good about it. And he wasn't (as our son put it) a "bot" now - he was the same sweet and goofy pup but now, he could follow instructions and maintain self control when we needed him to. The staff were also straight with us about the fact that he'd have setbacks. That's normal. They spent a lot of time explaining what you do when it happens. In fact, they spent almost an entire day with all the families at graduation - going over what the dogs learned, getting you hands on practicing how to do it, answering questions, and really teaching a ton of helpful information. We're about to set up our in-home training visit, which will be for all of us, including our three kids - really great to get everyone aligned with Carson's training. The Dog Knowledge is fantastic! We are members now and plan to board our dog with them whenever we go on vacation. I cannot imagine trusting any place like we trust them.
