The groomer here will tell you she knows more than you. We have a great Pyrenees that we get shaved once a year. And by shaved, I mean the longest guard possible so it is not a true shave. I called to schedule our appointment and told them what we needed. This was not our first visit here and not the first time we have had her shaved at this location. Upon arriving for our appointment, The groomer at Kennesaw pet Center absolutely refused to provide the service we requested. We have had many Pyrenees over 25 years and some we have shaved some we have not. The Pyrenees dog that we have now, is happiest when she gets a shave each summer. I was very frustrated when I was told when I arrived that they could not provide the services I requested. I was even more upset when I had to pay over $450 for grooming and veterinary services when I did not get what we needed. We will be looking for another groomer. The situation wouldn't have been so bad if they had notified us over the phone that they would not be able to accommodate. Our dog had been there previously and had this service there previously. You would think their records would reflect this. But I suppose new groomer new rules. And I'm not certain that a groomer should be dictating what they will and will not do when the service has been provided prior to the same dog and it is not clear if this groomer has ever actually had one on one experience with the breed. This topic is contested, even amongst diehard great Pyrenees owners but again, not sure that the groomer knows everything. read more

I wouldn't go anywhere else. I love Dr. Grant and his staff. I had a Pointer that had cancer, Dr. Grant compassionately prolonged his life by almost 2 years. When the time came, Dr. Grant came out to my vehicle so he could pass without any stress. Buster was in my arms, on his giant dog bed in his favorite place, my car. It was a peaceful, loving experience. My other dog Trixie, is older and was lethargic. Dr. Grant diagnosed spinal arthritis and prescribed a treatment plan that was perfect. When the office called to check on Trixie the next day, I told them they broke my dog! My sweet little old lady was acting like a puppy. She is a happy healthy girl thanks to Dr. Grant. read more

Kennesaw Pet Center has been helping us take great care of our girl ever since we got her at as a puppy. Their daycare is great and helps out majorly when we have long office days, so that she isn't alone all day. The playtime has also helped with her socialization and she really enjoys her group. It's also super convenient that they offer vet and grooming services there. They're always keeping her up to date with shots and nail trims. 12/10 would recommend and trust with your fur baby! read more

I have zero stars to give. This place is smells nasty and is run down in every way. I took my sweet girl to be put down and the vet cheerfully entered the room. Seriously! Then in my girl's final seconds with me the ignorant selfish vet talked over me saying goodbye. My dogs last moment and she heard her voice and not mine. I will never get that moment back and can't understand why someone would think their voice is needed at all. I wish I'd have left with my baby in the reception area. I can't say enough good things about the staff at Kennesaw pet center. I'm a first time dog owner so I feel like I call them once a week with questions and concerns about my puppy. When my puppy got sick with Parvo, one of the vet techs gave me her number to call with any questions or concerns that I may have while my baby was sick. And that meant A LOT TO ME! I brought my 10 year old dog here for a dental cleaning and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the minute I initially called for information, I knew this was the place I wanted to take my fur baby. The receptionist answered all my questions, and the questions she couldn't answer she transferred me to a technician who took the time to walk me through the procedure. In addition to that, they kept referring to my dog as my "baby" which made me feel like they really understood how important she is to me. I brought her in first for her annual check-up and shots. The technician Rachael was very knowledgeable and sweet to my pup. She and Dr. Grant handled my scared little pup very delicately and efficiently. My dog also had a little tumor thing by her armpit that I wanted them to check out. They both assured me that it was probably nothing but that while she is under anesthesia they could remove it safely and cost-effectively. The following week she had her appointment for the cleaning and growth removal. They did bloodwork beforehand to make sure she was healthy enough to undergo anesthesia, which was a huge concern of mine. They called me throughout the day to let me know how everything was going and how the surgery went. When I picked her up, I was given thorough instructions on what to expect and the medications she needed to take. I took my dog to KPC for the first time couple weekends ago and seemed to really enjoy it! The people were very nice and seemed to truly care about the animals that were brought to the center; they even called me one of the days my dog was staying there to let me know he got happy tail and they had to bandage up his tail, which was very nice! I am only giving three stars though because it seems as though he got some form of kennel cough while he was at KPC and we are now having to treat him for that. As much as both he and I liked the center, I'm a little hesitant to have him stay here again out of fear that he might get sick again. Update: I have actually continued to take my dog here for doggy daycare since it is on my way to work and it's great!! He loves getting to play with the other pups and is usually worn out by the time we get home. read more

I rarely leave reviews, and I only came to write this one after experiencing significantly better care at another animal hospital. These people drugged and shaved my dog for a procedure they hadn't even checked to see if they could preform. I brought my dog here during COVID for routine shots and to be neutered. I dropped him off in the morning, and when I returned at the specified time, they told me they were unable to complete the procedure. However, they didn't realize this until AFTER they administered the anesthesia and shaved his paws/legs. Moreover, no one called to tell me this, I had to find out for myself when I picked him up. Definitely recommend! Great for boarding, they treat your dog like their own. You can tell the staff have a passion for animals. They have staff on site at all times, with someone living upstairs. I've had my big boy around town at different places and this is the only place he goes in excited and leaves looking like a brand new dog, they have play time and open runs for them to be active and not just sit in a kennel all day board & cramped up. read more

We have taken our little dog to MANY of the grooming options in Kennesaw. All of them have been pretty good, but I've never felt like leaving a review. There's always been one thing I wish they would do better, and although that thing changes depending on the groomer, I'm left feeling like we haven't quite found "the one" afterwards. Well...this place has changed all that! My dog came back from her grooming appointment and I had absolutely nothing to say about it! I can't believe it! Had my boxer and white lab in the Kennesaw Pet Center this past week and when we picked them up they had severe kennel cough which they did not have going in. This is the second time this has happened here. I have boarded with them quite a bit over the years but the last two times they have left with kennell cough. Not sure what is going on there but this is problematic. Both were spitting up white substance. I believe they will be OK over time but should not have to deal with this. read more

I have two dogs, one of which requires special care at mealtime because of her medication and eating habits. Everyone here has been so accommodating to her needs and our specifications. I feel much more comfortable leaving our pets here than where we used to board them. I know they are taken outside...this service is called "play schools" and it costs $4 per each 15 minute session and because boarding already is so reasonably priced, it evens out with the other facility we previously used. What I also love is that the kennels in which the dogs sleep are much larger (with indoor/outdoor runs) and my two dogs can sleep together, which after some investigation I found out they weren't doing at the other place. It's so cute when you pick up your dog and they offer you a photo of your pet from their stay. Lastly, the groomer does a great job. My mini schnauzer has a bit of a 'tude (she's a diva) and the girls at PetSmart couldn't handle it. They told me they were going to start charging me extra because she was so difficult, but I've never heard that complaint from KPC. Plus, I think the lady here does a better job anyway so I have a feeling she is just more experienced. read more

Kennesaw Pet Center is awesome! My pup goes there around once a week for day care and he loves it, he gets so excited when I take him and he comes back exhausted. Their rates are extremely reasonable, day care is $2 an hour. I love that they upload photos from day care on their Facebook so you can see your pup having the time of their life. I also love that they have a vet on site, it gives me peace of mind knowing someone is there if anything goes wrong. All the staff are awesome, from the front desk to the kennel staff, groomers and the day care supervisor. They are always extremely helpful and you can see how much they love all the animals that come in. They give you a report card on your pet's first day of day care along with some photo print outs so you can find out how they settled in. They also offer a free nail trim for your pet if you like their Facebook page (which you will want to do anyway for the day care pics!) I 100% recommend KPC! read more

I had a great experience here few months ago with my shitzhu. He has terrible skin allergies and they recommended a special diet shampoo apoquel meds etc and I spent well over $350. It did help his allergies but temporarily. Now it's dry skin and still itchy but now ear infection. I called to inquire about an appt, drop off like I did last time since I have a BUSY toddler, cost and length of appointment if I went in with him and my toddler so I have an idea and can gauge whether I need to schedule when dad can be w toddler. She was being SUUPER judgemental that I even inquired about a drop off. She said she doesn't know the length of the appointment. She was judging that I did not bring him back few weeks after his new diet last time and I was not told to bring him? it's frustrating. I asked her if she had kids since she was annoyed with my questions and inability to come in immediately. I also told her the drop off would NOT be all day but for morning time since they open 7am but dr isn't in til 9am so I thought of dropping off at 7ish then coming back once doc has examined. Reading reviews, it seems like they are a hit or a miss. But they are the closest groomer that will do cat grooming to our home (still 40ish miles away) that had an appointment within a reasonable time period (a few weeks out vs a few months out)... So I figured why not ‍ Our cat's fur needs a little attention bc she does not like to be groomed by us but she has trouble grooming bc she has a lot of really thick fur. You drop off in the morning around 8:30 and the groomer will call later that day when your pet is ready. I got a call around 12:30 or 1 saying our cat was ready and was thinking that "wow, they're quick"! But unfortunately, despite me asking for clarification on exactly what options for grooming there were, the only info I gathered when I dropped off the cat was that they were going to bathe her (duh) and I was asked if I wanted the cat to be de-shed. I said yes. Anyways, they gave the cat a basic bath, and it still took a 10 minute phone conversation and being out on hold twice for them to explain to me exactly what they did to my cat, which didn't include the one thing they asked me specifically if I wanted for my cat. Their quote was "you can't really deshed a cat" (so why would you offer when I said she had thick, unruly fur?!) All in all, the cat is clean and smells great, so they get an extra star, but as she has trouble grooming because she has too much/ too thick fur, we will probably be needing to groom her again sooner than planned so we will not be going to this groomer again... (And this took a lot of effort and planning around work schedules... I don't have enough days off from work to drive out there and drop her, so I'm very disappointed that this didn't work out as planned). read more

Went here for the first time when I had an emergency with my cat Luna. The vet office I typically use was closed and I did not want to spend tons of money at the ER Vet. I called 1 hour before they closed and they were able to accommodate my needs and were extremely kind to Luna and myself. They did the procedure right away and it only took 30 mins. I have an 11-month-old Morkie who refused to be groomed. His hair was extremely matted and he would nip at the groomers. I was told he would have to be sedated. After making an appointment with KPC, I told them his issues and I was quoted a fair price. I dropped my puppy off this morning and was called throughout the day with updates. The groomer, Lyndsay, let me know he didn't need sedation and she was taking her time with him. When I went to pick him up I was so incredibly happy! Not only does he look super cute but the price dropped considerably. They could have easily overcharged me but they were honest and gave me a ton of information for going forward with his care. I cannot thank KPC enough. I won't take my puppy anywhere else. read more

Took my mom's dog in for grooming. He can be a little difficult. They did a great job and had no issues with him at all. They didn't even have an issue with him having no canine influenza vaccine. He is allergic to vaccines (except rabies and kennel cough) - he has seizures and severe reactions. Most groomers give us a hard time but no issues here. WARNING: Kennesaw Pet Center We rushed our dog "Piccolo" to the vet this morning because he was acting dizzy. Got him at the vet at 7am this morning when they opened. They checked him in and said they would do blood work first thing. At 9am received a call from the vet that he had passed away in his crate and was never even examined. The office then said "Oh well the vet doesn't get here till 9am. You should have reacted faster and got him in earlier." Well excuse me you dumb ass...you opened at 7am he was there at 7 and you left him sitting in a cage for 2 hours without looking at him!! Kennesaw Pet Center allowed our baby to lay in a cage and die alone!!!! Everyone be aware where you take your family friend for veterinary care. Do your research, and know who has your babies life in the their hands!!! THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND SOMEONE WILL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ERROR AND BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE! Lack of professionalism and lack of remorse was ridiculous. If you had no intention of looking at our baby till the vet got in then someone should have referred us to an emergency clinic immediately. I took my kitten here for a check up and asked questions about her paw, and some early URI symptoms. The vet came in and examined in under 5 minutes, said everything was fine, no need to worry, and left. Then less than a week later the kitten began to sound sick so we scheduled another appointment and took her back. The neglected URI symptoms turned into a pretty bad URI and the vet also decided she needs surgery on her paw, which was fine a week before. If you want a place to tell you your animal is healthy go here, but if you want their symptoms treated before they get too sick I highly recommend finding another vet. Also the staff was only nice to the kitten and extremely rude and neglectful of our questions. read more

Kennesaw Pet Center is great, and I am VERY picky when it comes to who can care for my pets. We have 3 dogs and 2 cats. We use the boarding facility frequently, and I have nothing but good things to say. The dogs (and cats once) always come back clean and happy. Their Vets, Vet Techs and front desk staff are outstanding. My animals have all received preventative care and vaccinations there. One of dogs also had oral surgery in their facility, and the entire process went exactly as promised. The caring staff is great with my animals, even my grumpy little man whom many vets won't see. Loretta Porterfield does a magnificent job grooming our 10 year old very large Sheltie. Shelties have a very dense multi-layered coat that requires a lot of time and patience to groom properly. We spent a lot of time trying to find a groomer for Lumiere until we met someone with a gorgeous sheltie who told us about Kennesaw Pet Center and Loretta in particular. Now we're regulars at KPC. By the way she does a beautiful job with our Cairn Terrier also. read more

Dr. Grant is amazing! It has been a long time since finding a vet that cares about the animals as much as the money. Dr. Grant has been caring for my dogs for a year now and he is wonderful. Also, as of this posting, his groomer is the BEST in this area. I have a poodle that does not like to be groomed and usually comes out looking like he got in to it with a lawn mower but Lindsay is a true professional. My poodle is show ready. I have boarded the dogs there and my little one is nervous so she's sometimes a little difficult. They are patient, loving, and completely competent of caring for my dogs the way I want them to be cared for. I WOULD 100% RECOMMEND ANY OF THEIR SERVICES and my dogs are my life. read more

Without an established vet, I looked up reviews and called Kennesaw Pet Center. They were able to fit us in within the half hour. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, the doctor top-notch and the prices very reasonable. I called that morning over some lumps that were concerning me on my dog and they squeezed me in right away. I was on my way to Uniform Source (next door neighbor to Kennesaw Pet Center) on a busy Saturday with heavy traffic on Cobb Pkwy and missed the entrance, so pulled over to Kennesaw Pet Center parking lot and politely asked the staff if I could park there for a few minutes, run to Uniform Source for a quick pick-up. The first girl seemed that her response was going to be positive, then a shorter brunette girl in thick black glasses spoke out and said that I cannot park there since it was for customers only and that she has the right to deny parking and went on and on. I silently listened and asked if she can make a favor it is just few minutes and the lot was empty, so that I can avoid going down to the light and back-up. She insisted on her "rights". I just decided to leave than continue to listen at her and took an extra 15minutes to go down, U turn twice and make it to the next door business. I mentioned this incident to the staff at Uniform Source and they were not very happy, since they have many Kennesaw Pet Center customers park at Uniform Source and walk to the pet place. This is bad business and definitely bad neighbor behavior. And way to pay it forward! What goes around, comes around. Will spread. read more

My cocker has been going to KPC since 10/13. I find the staff and vet to be very kind and patient with the animals. A big plus is that this is a full-service facility and I have Mandy groomed and boarded there as well. Lyndsay does an excellent job grooming my not particularly cooperative dog. The staff at Kennesaw Pet Center from Dr. Bodie to David, Amber, etc. are all amazing people, and I wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else. We've been with them for 13+ years and most recently have spent a great deal of time there as one of my dogs has been fighting lymphoma. They are compassionate and professional, and I don't believe I could go anywhere else where I would feel my dog was truly cared for as she is there. read more
